They should resurrect Buzz. That was a ton of fun and far better than Jackbox which makes me cringe with its terrible humour clearly written by a 9 year old.

Still this sounds interesting, and exactly what I was saying the other day about how this is the point in the generation where Sony will start to target more casual and younger gamers.

Wish Studios have two games in development for SIE.

Indeed ! If Wish Studios is behind That's You, then they are also working on another game for Sony since they are currently developing two original games for a major publishing partner. According to their website, they use Unity 3D and they are also clearly tied to Sony given their previous works. Nice tip Mr. Phantom Thief !

So it looks like we have arrived to that point in the PS4 cycle where Sony is starting to ship some social/family games uh ?

Sony Computer Entertainment Europe hired Wish to create a prototype for a brand new intellectual property. Working closely with the SCEE team in London, Wish rapidly and responsively generated, prototyped and iterated ideas.

We’d love to share with you the results of the work… But unfortunately, due to this being a new IP, it’s all rather hush-hush! So we’ll leave you instead with the words of Mick Hocking, one of SCEE’s Vice Presidents: “At SCEE we love working with creative start-ups like Wish that are passionate about games and hungry to innovate. The guys at Wish are very talented.” Cheers, Mick, we couldn’t have put it better ourselves!

For now, all that is known is that Wish CEO Caspar Field, along with CCO Tom Bennett and CTO Paul Brooke, are working on prototyping new IP for the platform holder. And that’s it.

But while the team behind Wish may be keeping the project a secret for now, they are ready to talk about the creative approach they hope will define their studio. The founding trio at one point worked together at Relentless Software, and have some 40 years of experience making games behind them, with particular expertise in the realms of augmented reality and motion control.

And its focus, says Field, is not on platforms or business models, but on something far more fundamental to the process of making video games.

Wish Studios are in Brighton... I wonder if they spun off from Relentless Software who made the Buzz! Quiz games and we're also based in Brighton as I recall. Turns out they closed down in 2016 which is a shame as they had a 'no crunch' policy.

Edit - yeah, as I suspected it is mentioned two posts up.
