I just finished the game on hard, holy shit the ending left me smiling, best game in years. Chapter 25 graphics are seriously incredible, a sneak peek of what next-gen consoles should be able to achieve.

9,99/10

(-0.01 after the game froze on me once after a huge firefight precisely in chapter 25)

ps: crushing run starting now!
edit: seems like the chapter 25 freeze is a known glitch, fix this shit Guerrilla!
edit2: ND talking about the PS3 SPUs makes you believe they can be used as GPUs... PS4 to feature just a super Cell chip?

lol. Yeah, we were so close on that one. At least we beat the other map :)

Yeah, it was so close... argh.

The game definitely rewards cooperation. We probably wouldnt have finished it if we werent constantly figuring out best routes to take, where the enemies are and all that stuff. Its perfect for someone like me who doesnt like playing in random matches and isnt too interested in non-tactical shooters.

I played a match of multiplayer and it was pretty fun. It was team deathmatch and my team won. I got like 12 kills and the combat actually feels pretty good. I liked getting the jump on the other team and meleeing them down. I also got a few medals and trophies during the match. I think I'll have to go back and play some more later on.

I then started up a new game on Hard and did the first 4 chapters and I have a question. Can I use any of the tweaks that I unlocked and still get medals and trophies? The only ones available are alternate skins and render modes so I doubt they will cause me to lose out on trophies / medals, but I just want to be sure.

Also, if I later decide to do a treasure hunting run (I only found 30 treasures on my first playthrough), can I set it to an easy difficulty and turn on the cheats (infinite ammo, etc...) and still get credit for picking up the treasures?

Just finished the game. I'm actually somewhat depressed that it's over... I've never felt that for a game before. Oh well, on to the multiplayer I guess.

I agree with the couple of people saying the platforming sequences overstay their welcome, but the action sequences after Chapter 13 are excellent. earlier in the thread, someone was claiming UC2 lacked the great gunplay of other top shooters, but I have to say that is absolute bullshit. ND gets how to make a modern shooter; great modern shooters give players meaningful options in the way they tackle a firefight. I'd say the best examples of UC2 doing this is are in city in Nepal and the village in Tibet.

The village in Tibet featured the best shoot out in the game. That shit was awesome. I wasn't too hot on most of the shooting segments up until the train honestly, but that village battle was probably my most memorable moment of the game.

Actually, I think an Uncharted racing game could be pretty badass.

Before you say STFU, let me explain:

It would be an on-foot racer where you get tools like a rope w/ grappling hook, a machete, some dynamite, and etc. Your goal is to get to the finish line on the other side of the "track". This "track" would have multiple routes to travel maybe 5 with there being a 10-player limit. While platforming your way towards the finish-line, you can "sabotage" your route by blowing up something or cutting down a rope bridge. Your tools could also be used to take out other players.

Yeah... I suck at game-design.

People just expect the bullet to always go straight I guess. Oh no! It's not straight all the time, gunplay fails!

I beat the game last night. It was a blast all the way through and the variety in this one just completely outdoes the first one. They figured out a great formula for fun in the first game, and then just went to town in this one.

I ended up downing the difficulty at the last boss after he
killed me by blowing up nearby sap spots with his shotgun about 7 times in a row.
So I ended up beating the game on Normal.

Went 25-0 earlier this evening on Train Wreck. First Rampage medal I've ever gotten(from the demo, to retail)-- came close several times before, but some jerk would get lucky and ruin my spree.

Anyways, saved a film of the match, and much to my dismay, the film kept looping about 30-somethin' seconds into the match because the host quit. Rest of it was gone... :(

Does this always happen? Are your saved films cut short if the host quits in the middle of the match?

Make UnKarted: Drake's Kart Racing like Road Rash but with Uncharted-themed weapons.

Re-use the assets to make tracks in the locales from the game,
Ice level, Shamballah Level, Borneo Level, Tibet, etc.

I doubt this will work, but who knows.... if I have a save right at the last boss and simply change the difficulty to hard, will that allow me to get the trophy for beating the game on hard without actually playing through the entire campaign on hard?

Nope, you've gotta do it all.

Ok, so I assume that if I start a hard campaign and change the difficulty at any point, I will immediately be disqualified for the hard completion trophy, right?

Also, can anyone answer my above post about visual tweaks and medals / trophies?

haha, did you just tell Guerilla to fix a game by Naughty Dog? ;)

You basically have to finish every chapter on a difficulty to earn that trophy. If you have finished the first 10 chapters on hard, and then switch to normal, you can go back to chapter 11 and play from there on hard, and you will get the trophy.

Also, visual tweaks dont stop you from getting trophies. The stuff like one-shot kill and no gravity are only available in the difficulty on which you have already finished the game.

Just finished the game, a lot of fun, well designed and a blast. Did have some issues with it though, more from my own frustration. Frustration stuff below

the train sequence pissed me off. I hated that with a passion, same with the jumping from truck to truck a bit later on, hated that one too. The boss fight at the end was also annoying. Not enough space to move around, clearly the run and gun approach was the only way to go about it but even then it was a pain in the ass.

Might start messing around with multiplayer next weekend if my PS3 can hold a stable connection.

around chapter 20. I died a ton
at the tank bit
. Probably the only point so far that's felt frustrating and a bit unfair difficultywise.

The hardest part is
the last boss
.

About Chapter 19 now. I'm getting more and more spots where I can't really tell where to go next. More visual cues would be nice in those cases. But those are minor quibbles in what is one of the greatest games I've played this generation. Naughty Dog... damn. Really hit a homer. So much better than the first Uncharted. This one deserves to be on the pedestal its been put on!

Do you know if the actual cheats (one-shot kill, infinite ammo, etc...) stop you from getting the treasures and the trophies / medals associated with them? I kind of want to do a treasure hunting run later and don't want to really worry about anything else.

It was super hard(and frustrating) at first, but I was doing it wrong.
Thought he could only get damaged with the sap-explosions...it was taking forever to kill him. :P

Surprisingly easy on crushing since you have to keep moving anyways. Any fight involving M32 hammer henchmen & multiple medium armor shotgun henchmen is harder than that.

They don't stop you from getting anything if you use them.

I bought a PS3 to play this. So far, loving the console and the game. Both the excellent multiplayer and the epic campaign have been blowing me away. And now I'm going back to play some more :D

It doesn't help that this game follows my pet peeve on harder difficulties. Harder = your opponents will hit you from miles away with a pistol and they focus on you and ONLY you.

agreed this was by far my favourite level...i loved how they 'reused' this level and i usually hate backtracking through levels in games...

wait what? this is what i thought too but did this the whole time (didnt find it hard but it took awhile)? what is the 'proper' way?

I thought the same thing too. wish they would've given a clue to let the player know

Not to mention it cemented Tenzin as my favorite sidekick in the game. You never forget the first time you take out a
tank
together.

wait.. you can damage him with gunfire? I just assumed that the cutsene where drake shot lazarabitch and had no effect on him was a clue... I beat it on crushing just using sap explosions.. FUUUUUUUU-

I don't think gunfire works, but grenades do.

Another thing that pissed me off was that you were automatically given an m4 for the final battle.

I had a spas 12 with 16 rounds I wanted to use.. but noooooo.

So how does the matchmaking work?

I noticed I got to play with two Americans (I'm in EU) in co-op, am I facing people from across the globe in competitive also?

Gunfire works. Think of the "steel fist" mechanic. You soften him for a bit with gunfire then BOOM-sap him, and he'll go immediately into his little DRAKE YOU BITCH animation. It'll only take 4 or 5 sap explosions to kill him this way. Found out by accident, after getting killed for the 20th time, I just started wailing at him with bullets and shot a sap near him by chance. :P SO EASY after figuring that out. Before that it was taking 3-4 saps for trigger each of his cut-scenes/animations.

Not to mention you start out where you left off after the cutscenes. Once you have a path down you just go in a circle going from sap to sap weaking him. I was disappointed the final boss was little more than a ring around the rosy fight.

Huh. That's the only way I killed him too...the game even tells you to do this.

there is a tree right next to the pool of sap that you can just keep running back and forth and he never goes all the way around the tree, he'll only chase you on one side, so you just go back and forth and keep shooting the sap when it reappears. also when you're close he doesn't throw grenades.
