UC2 all day every day. The only game that beat UC2 for me last gen was The fucking Last of us.
Uncharted 2 had much more interesting and varied environments, but ME2 has better combat and characters.
umm That article is 2 years old why in God's name are we linking it and talking about it now? 2 years man. Let that article die the sweet sweet death of mediocrity and fade into the past like it should've.
Ehhh, isn't it the opposite? The dialog in Mass Effect is cringeworthy & their characters are only cool because of other reasons, while the combat is clunky & boring. I also thought a lot of the environments (like the collector's base) were cool.
Uncharted has far better dialog & better written characters, & the combat is more fluid & enjoyable, while the environments were cool, I preferred space in ME.
Preach. ME2 is a near masterpiece.Mass Effect 2, and I don't think it's close to be honest. Uncharted 2 is an amazing game that is a thrill to play, but ME2 feels so much more substantial and impactful.
And that last 90 minute section... man, unbeatable.
We should compare TLOU vs Mass Effect 3.Making me choose between Uncharted and Mass Effect is one of the cruelest things you could ever do to me, OP.
I give Mass Effect the "Trilogy of the Generation" over Uncharted, but Uncharted 2 was the best game out of the six.
Uncharted 2 has better dialog and characters? It's about as barebones as it gets - it's cookie cutter action / adventure stuff. Drake cruises around being smug and wisecracking about everything, occasionally stopping to talk business about whatever ancient map or treasure he's going after. It's fun but this isn't exactly Best Original Screenplay material.
The characters were what ME2 was all about. You spend most of the game recruiting them or winning their loyalty. It's a Bioware RPG so you also spend a lot of time talking to the characters in the "home base" area. The problem with ME2 was that the main questline was relatively weak by comparison to how strong many of the optional character quests were.
The collapsing hotel is still probably my favorite scripted moment in any game since. I replayed that level so many times to play that sectionUncharted 2, I don't even know how this can be a serious question (and I've played both games).
UC2 had perhaps the best-written single player of any game last gen. The setpieces were absurdly memorable and amazingly fun, and the storyline was written in a way very few games could even hope to execute.
Yes, the final level of the game (and final boss) were utter trash... but I felt the same against ME2's. The design was pretty sick though, won't lie.

This so much. UC2 is just one time experience. Amazing one, though. But in terms of gameplay, story, and character development, ME 2 is a better game.ME2 is the most replayable game I've ever played, and one of the best. Yep.
Mass Effect pretty much in all aspects, not just the gameplay which is the obvious advantage ME has.
Um what? I thought I was pretty well acknowledged that the gameplay of ME2 is it's weakest aspect. It's neither a good RPG, nor a good third person shooter. UC2 is a very good TPS.
