Uncharted 3 MP Beta Thread: Cinematic Murder Testing

FFA is Micro-fest. I couldn't break 0.5 k/d until I started micro-rushing as well. Thats not good (as it has been said plenty already).

Really enjoying the game though. Can't wait to see how it plays after they polish it.

Question: Why am I on the green (heroes) team every single game? I think I played villains the first night, less than 4 times. Since then I have not been a villain once. Not complaining, I love playing as Victor.

Maybe ND can make the "rate of fire" mod the first unlock instead of "extra ammo" for the AK-47?

Are you mostly playing FFA? If so, than there is a hero/villian select default setting. I'm pretty sure you have hero selected as your default.

Still, 4 shots to kill someone at any range is pretty ridiculous. The current UC3 pistol has twice the firing rate of UC2's after the first 1-2 shots when aimed and the double fire rate kicks in immediately when running and gunning, so I think something like 7 shots when aimed and 9 for run n' gun to kill would be okay. Recoil isn't bad either if you just push down slightly on the left stick.
 
has anyone bought any accuracy booster like the one for the GMAL and does it make that much a difference? (just wondering)

and wow, I went back to Uncharted 2 and played a few matches. I definitely prefer this multiplayer and it's much more fun. I've been able to pull off some amazing 2 v 1's because of the increased health. Also, I feels amazing to pull of triple kills with the cluster bomb kick back

Close/mid-range, not so much. It's pinpoint accuracy with it on though, so kills from extra long range are pretty quick and easy to get. Very useful on Airstrip against guys on turrets since all 3 shots will hit the bit of their head that's showing.
 
also, the maps are A LOT more fun. I found myself jumping around more, firing off shots while hanging and thinking more strategically when playing with my buddy. Once this game gets polished it should be very addicting and and feel great. The crazy thing is that I haven't even tried split screen yet. Has anyone else here tried it and if so, how was the overall experience?

EVERY mode on Chateau is a Micro-fest now. So annoying. It's a mad rush for the zip line window, and guys just camp up there doing drive by Micro hip sprays.

And I too haven't been a villain for a LONG time.

EDIT: And of course once I say that, I'm on the villain side for the first time in like 30 games.
 
Haven't posted yet, but I've been enjoying the beta for the past few days. Up to level 20 or something and dabbling in all the modes available.

-The arm micro is definitely cheap... too easy to get kills with with minimal effort. Silly not to use it at close range unless you've got a pistole or SAS handy. Needs to be not quite so good (using weapon expert + both attachments make it totally ridiculous).

I'm trying to think of other issues I have with the game, but nothing is coming to mind immediately. Maybe the release date? Waiting till November is not going to be fun. Fix this shit GG? Really though, hadn't played UC2 MP in a long time and this is just as fun with lots of awesome new perks added. I really enjoy the sense of progression, and finding treasure is a pretty simple but compelling addition to things. I suspect unlocking things in retail is going to be very addicting and give the game's MP a much longer shelf life, which it really doesn't need considering how much fun it is currently. Customizing heroes, guns, and loadouts is great and since I'm not much of a COD player this is a mostly new experience for me (I played a bit of MW2 but didn't like it, mostly because of how quickly fights would be over).

Anyway, great stuff, shame it's over in a short time!

what the hell, rewind is STILL TERRIBLE in the cinema mode. I pressed it once and it froze my PS3.. what the hell.. =[
 
I got up to level 9 and its pretty awesome. One of the things i dont like is the amount of momentum during sprint. It feels kinda off. Aside from that air strip is kind of a shitty map. Not really representative of the series very well. Chateau is great though.

No I played FFA to do my 10 matches is that playlist, thats it. I've played almost exclusively TDM. I am always hero

No, you shouldn't have to. Just put the mic on, and play. At least that's how it was for me. Never fiddled with any options there.
 
Just finished a co-op run in 3D and wow this game is so much fun. The co-op is a blast and the a.i is smart and tricky to play against

:O me too. Feels weird playing the bad guy.
This game needs better mute options. I hate that the game unmutes people during map selection. sometimes Im not paying attention and I have to deal with obnoxious voice chat all game.

If you haven't used a mic on it before, you might have to sync it up in Accessory Settings in the XMB.
 
Do we know of any NEW weapons for U3? So far we have the magnum, the bolt action sniper rifle, and?

I'm a gun nut so I'm hoping there's a decent amount of stuff in the full game. Do we know of any other weapon attachments in the full game as well? I could have sworn I saw a scope change in one of the MP trailers...

I have never used a mic before. My mic is USB. I used it for ventrilo, but never for the PS3.

Start Menu, and go to Records. There you got a full list of all medals and what you need to do to get them. Got your treasures there aswell.

What's your point? Of course GAF members are going to have stats like that, but GAF doesn't equal everyone. Go play a match in deathmatch that's outside of a GAF party right now and tell me if what I mentioned isn't true.

Discovered today you can kick dudes off of ledges if they're hanging in front of you- brilliant. I don't remember that from U2, anyway. And 'Oh Snap!' is always fun.

Kick Off was there in U2 aswell. Now, if you get hanging side by side with someone, you can kick them down from the side. That made me so happy once I realized that.

No problem!

Kicking dudes off was there in U2, where it had a certain degree of priority over pull offs (if lag didn't screw you over). It seems harder to pull in U3, I always get pulled off before I can kick them.

why is my "available" cash dieing even if i dont buy stuff (or rage-quit a match) i cant buy shit because my money is vanishing without reason
 
It feels like they went in the Gears 2 direction and slowed the fuck out of this game. I really can't get into it at all and won't bother touching it at retail. The perk buying stuff is also stupid and made it hard for new players last time.

do you choose a booster at the start of a match, these are paid boosters and cost cash
 
The game better not have a 90 second quit penalty like U2,that crap is is BS and just makes turn off the game with hate.
