Uncharted 3 MP Beta Thread: Cinematic Murder Testing

Eh, I could still outshoot them with the pistol, even in U3. It takes a lot of practice to actually get 'good' at mass CQC domination.

Not really. It seems like it only takes half a second of Micro hip spray + melee = death.

Melee? You're doing it wrong. Micro and run circles around the guy, while moving away from him. With mods I'm constantly killing two in a row with a single clip. Sometimes two in the same room. :P

i actually have a spare creepy crawler code, guess i'll give it to someone here on gaf

to get the code just draw something uncharted 3 in paint, i'll pick someone in 30 minutes

i've yet to try it myself but it looks pretty crazy and unrealistic

I don't mind the code, I just wanted to paint. I know i'm past the 30 minutes lol.

Nah, the guy with the Micro will still get a kill, THEN he'll get dominated on. Thing is beast.

That's besides the point. I was just saying that a good CQC player would take out those five dudes AND live. :P

Haha! Fucking brilliant! If you don't get a code, somebody has to give you something for that.

One thing I really don't understand is why the player count is still 5v5 instead of 6v6, especially with the introduction of the buddy system. One person is always going to go without a buddy that way. Seems odd.

I'm going through each list to do the 10 games for the unlocks, and I was forever alone in almost every TDM. Gotta wonder why they couldn't just add 2 more players.

EDIT: Then I get signed out after a kickass FFA, and my PS3 locks up. Tanks. :|

Yeah I noticed that too.

Juuust pointing out something that may be very relevant

When the endmatch happens and you still can kill someone, I've had the game to "you have been kicked" me if I kill someone or die in the exact moment the screen fades to black, which locks the console 5 seconds later.

Nevermind, seems to be session problem related. Still, getting the console locked isn't nice.

I was just dominating co-op and right as the game ends I get disconnected from PSN and it goes to the Uncharted 3 title screen except the background is black. My PS3 is frozen at this point so I turn it off and back on and then try logging into the multiplayer again and now it just froze on this screen too as the box says connecting...

can anyone explain this?

EDIT: ok nvm

Seconded. But since its a beta, I think its possibly gonna be done in the retail version.

Before the server went down I managed to play a few games and to be honest, im not feeling this beta.

Player movement seems horrible maybe its because I'm used to gears, but fuck, just moving is a pain in the ass. the camera also moves too close to your player sprinting, something Gears 3 fixed over 2. It just feels too loose overall and im used to tight controls from COD/Gears/Killzone

Shooting mechanics are pretty good, but a head shot should count as a instant kill, not 2-3 shots, there have been times where I KNOW I shot him in the head and he still didn't die. I can tolerate it in Gears, as that is it's nature of play, but in UC it feels strange and I often feel robbed.

Power plays are just dumb, remove them or make them a power up ala Quake 3 "Quad Damage" and make it a pickup for just ONE player. Power plays remove every ounce of competitiveness from the match.

Lastly the first part of airstrip is stupid. just remove it. That section ends too quick and just seems like a waste of time and a break of the action. Chateau is good but nobody wants to play it.

How can you describe movement in U3 as a "pain in the ass" but praise something like the human tank game, Gears?

Headshots have never been 1 hit kills, and they shouldn't be in this type of game.

I don't like prejudice against juniors, but damn, the things I read on this thread sometimes.

?Nice.. Tried to take some cover behind a crate on airstrip and I guess my character fell into the crate. Can't get out, stuck in there, can see through all the walls. Unfortunately threw my grenade so I can't suicide.

To be honest I dont get any of this critisism.

Shouldn't rather their UC2 level matter in this case?

EDIT: Ohh, I see you're referring to just that person.

I know I stopped on level 50, I just didn't feel like it anymore, and only did crushing coop with friends for lulz:

http://i46.tinypic.com/5mltnq.jpg

That's how I sum up crushing coop lol.

But yeah I'm liking UC3 beta quite a lot. Give it enough customize loot and that will be a good incentive for keeping the playerbase. Hey, in TF2 it works.

UnHATed incoming.

My main problem with the beta at this point is:

Can't spawn, in a fight. And he's running completely alone.

Yet you can spawn in actual firefights.

How does the criteria work in this case?

I don't think it would be such a bad idea if Uncharted 3 MP is 6v6.

The maps seem to be spacy enough and it would mean the buddy system is fair for all players. 5v5 = one player misses out.

Hell no headshots need to remain the way they are.
I think they should have slightly more damage.

I got killed by someone whilst I killed him with headshots with my AK. It's ridiclous - he should have died first.

To be fair, it isn't that uncommon an opinion. For some reason PS3 shooters can not be based on high health. It's okay for Halo and okay for Gears (despite Cogs being human, roided up or not), not so for Uncharted. Maybe the villain team needs to made up of yetis and mutant Nazis or something.
