Uncharted 3 MP Beta Thread: Cinematic Murder Testing

Anyone try splitscreen? I was just trying to show the beta to a friend who dropped by and the framerate in splitscreen is literally in the single digits, permanently. It also uses the super annoying, 'waste a quarter of your screen to preserve aspect ratio' setup that makes everything impossible to see.
 
I'm really enjoying the beta so far. My only complaints are that some of the Power Plays, particularly Cursed and Double Damage, last a bit too long and that walking movement speed is a bit slow. I'm definitely digging the health and faster climbing/traversal. I'm going to be putting a lot of time into this.

It is possible for the mid game cutscene on the airfield, but if those are the two options, I would opt for one local (either the plane and cars, or the airfield) instead of trying to merge two into one match. It does not feel like the epic vibe they were going for (ala the SP) and it all it manages to do is knock you out of the gameplay mid match. The post match cutscene is absolutely pointless IMO.

I don't know what this has to do with people being "console plebs" because cod spray isn't console exclusive, but whatever. Don't even feel like talking it.
 
Nothing better than those crazy jumping kills and I just did like 3 in a row with the Hammer before PSN decided to kick me off again. The base gameplay is still so damn fun.

What does this "hardcore" mode consist of? I don't want lowered health, I just want all the fluff gone.

are there no weapon/item pick ups in hardcore? i havent seen any shotguns, shields, smgs, anything. are they in the regular play modes
 
holy shit at the frame rate. is that lag or does the game run at a slideshow speed?

It does just that. All boosters, kickbacks, power plays are disabled. Easily the best mode in the beta IMO.
 
I'm really surprised that I haven't had an issue with disconnects or matchmaking since I have kind of a crappy connection. The framerate has seemed just as solid as Uncharted 2's.

I would take anything over the loading screens of U2.

It's a bug. The game was running fine in the morning when the server load was low.

I just loaded the game up and mine's at the character customization screen with the little Uncharted TV playing and that whole video is lagging, at first I thought it was just the little video, but I paid attention and I see the whole screen is lagging.. What IS with the frame rate.....?

Alright, I'm a dumbass for complaining. I don't even know what "normal" Team Deathmatch is anymore. Hardcore is everything I know and love Uncharted MP for + high fiving over dead bodies + ziplines. What more could I want?
 
Who exactly developed this mode, surely not ND was it? It moves and controls nothing like Uncharted, which is why I ask. Feels absolutely nothing like the rest of the series, really jarring. Did Zipper have anything to do with it, reminds me of one of theirs.

I've been trying to play for the last half hour and I've already had it lock up like 5 times and when I do manage to get in a game for more than 15 seconds it's a complete, unplayable nightmare up until it freezes.
 
Played 2 matches, I was in semi beast mode in the second match. Top of the game, and I was really, really digging it (too bad it disconnected for some reason :/).

TOO MANY POWER PLAYS though. Literally 1 every 2 minutes. They're fun, as they switch up the match for a little bit, but as of now, it's way too often, and certainly not when "one team is majorly in the lead."

But yeah, it feels fucking awesome. Health is high, but this is coming from a recent UC2 player, but I like it. Getting hit from a distance isn't auto death.

Tech wise, it was very solid for me. Graphics (especially IQ, some stuff looked really...blurry) could use some work, but I've no doubt they'll polish that shit come release.

I loved the matches I played, can't wait to play a ton more tomorrow.

I haven't had any issues like that at all.

I had that problem at first too but maxing out the sensitivity really helped. The movement speed is still a bit low but it's not too bad now that I'm used to it.

Then he can't aim. G-MAL is a three burst kill with pinpoint accuracy (I don't even have the accuracy attachment) and even a sight for long range. UC3's hit detection is godly too. No one should have trouble getting kills with that gun after spending some time with it.
 
I'm having a ton of fun with this. Please don't fuck up the damage model, please. It is absolutely perfect how it is.

The framerate was rock solid for me.

Edit: God, this multi feels so fucking good.

They could also up the movement a bit.

Maybe somehow limit people jumping/spazzing/rolling forever when they get shot.

Fix the ghosty icons, they could look better.

Change up the brightness/gamma level on the Hangar map (the inside looked great, but the wierd lighting/coloring outside messed with shadows a bit)

MP is shit. What a dissapointment. I played a lot of UC2 MP (pre-patch, I don't know what happened later since I gave the game away) and it was good and easy to get into.

Massively dissapointed.

No, this time they are not going to cater to the likes of you. They ruined U2 already. Go play that. Learn to aim and/or track your opponent. Not every game had to have a "i saw you, you die" mechanic. Keep at the guy you're after, you'll get em.
 
Managed to play a couple of hours without any freezes/framerate problems - reached level 8. The more I played and got used to the controls/feel and unlocked shit, the more fun it became!

+The health feels just about right - no changing ND!

+I like all the new animations, the jumping animations are especially cool and it feels like you can jump to more places on the map.

+The in-game aa looks better than U2's 2xaa for the most part, just the characters in the menu look very aliased. The motion blur on characters and objects looks better than U2.
Still feel the graphics could be polished/improved which is expected with a beta.

+ No DTI or Situational Awareness at least in the beta...

-Grenades have definitely been nerfed from U2 - it takes an extra second to throw a grenade. Also starting with only 1 grenade slot WTF is this.

Kickbacks aren't too bad at the moment because they're quite tactical... Don't like Powerplays too much (especially cursed) - at least there is a Hardcore playlist without this stuff.

-Overall the controls just don't feel as tight as U2, kinda sluggish... suppose that will take some getting used to, unless they are changed from now to the final release.

Missing plunder. Will keep playing...

Edit: Also didn't like the Fal in U2 but the G-MAL feels pretty good.

It seems I will considering this is a mess. UC2 feels much better compared to this on multiple levels.
