Uncharted 3 MP Beta Thread: Cinematic Murder Testing

From what I can tell, it looks like he is hip firing by using the little white dot. Though he can be zooming in and cancelling really quickly. My best bet is blindfiring with the white dot.

Is he hip firing though? I get that he's aiming the camera, but I can't tell if he's briefly hitting L1 before firing (the camera zooms a bit).

Ohhh, I see what you mean.

Hmmm, I have no clue.

this is my first post as im new to gaf, im enjoying the beta so far just getting used to the stiff movements...Gotta get used to evading and rolling as it seems thats what most good players do..

if anyone wants to get some games in add my psn, in my profile

Going to have to play with that gun some more in any case, seems like it could be quite good (I've ignored picking it up until this point, and sniper rifles in general, even though they're beefy).

I haven't read through the entire thread so I don't know if this is new but, I just ran into the first cheater I've seen so far. He was able to get himself to the very top of the tower on Chateau in the courtyard with the SUV and snipe through what seemed like the entire map. He killed me a couple of times when I was on the other side of the chateau. Was playing Team Objective at the time.

I posted this a couple pages back without detail. Thanks for reminding me.

Yeah, it's bullshit. The guy doing this even climbed to the back of that building and killed me and others through the map.

They started streaming some neat best kills videos on Uncharted TV.

BTW matchmaking is failing entirely for me at the moment for Hunters and Objectives.

I just realized in cinema mode that the reason I keep stumbling like a drunken moron when I climb up to this platform:

..is because there's a plank missing.

Team Objective is kind of disappointing. :-(

The rounds just go by way too fast, you can't really get a good feel for the game before it's done. Maybe I just need to get used to it, but it feels weird coming from KZ3.

:LOL

That's hilarious because I was wondering why the hell I always stumble there too.

Bleh, that disappointing. haven't got a chance to try it out yet, but I was hoping for those long back and forth epics like Killzone can provide.

Just some feedback on co-op hunter:

-There needs to be a cash reward for the guy who captures the treasure because my partner just went fucking rambo the entire time while I did what you were suppose to do and only received 1/2 the money he did.

it is a great game-mode but i agree it is way too short right now. i am pretty sure it will be adjusted.

I'm not sure what you mean but they need to redesign that area to give you a way to attack people above you from that ledge. Make the ledge go further out so you can see up the top for example

I can find players for Objectives but not Hunter, and it was the first time I actually enjoyed watching Uncharted TV lol.

I ALWAYS fall from that ledge. Al-fucking-ways.

Are we gonna get proper playlists for king of the hill and stuff or is this rotational objective thing is all Uncharted 3 will have? For the final version I mean. 3 minutes just doesn't do it for me. I've had some awesome long-ass chain reaction games in UC2.

Out of curiosity I tried that out of map giltch in the chateau and I felt dirty doing that after getting 2 kills and quickly jump down and play normally. Never again!!!

Edit: Is there a way to aim the dragon sniper without going into scope mode?

Nope, and I support this decision to not allow unscoped aiming since anyone and everyone can run around with a Dragon thanks to loadouts.T-Bolt would also be a bit OP too, since I can still kill at close range pretty easily even with the scope aim.

Fucking rocking and rolling all weekend long. Then comes Rank 25 and BAM! Amount of XP required to level up thereafter skyrockets! What's the consensus for best mode if you want max XP?

I just played a co-op hunter game and the round never ended or changed. Deposited gold 101 times before finally losing connection to the game. Thought it wouldn't save progress, but tried to upgrade the beast mode co-op booster anyway.

Co-op Arena gave tons of XP last week. Supposedly the level cap is 50. Every unlock that isn't treasure related can be bought at 25 anyway, provided you have the money.

I love the MULTI-OBLECTIVE Playlist, but I definitely have to agree the modes are too short, the mode in general needs to be longer, and matches should be played all the way out, not just abruptly cut short and then suddenly called a draw, this happened twice.

Other than that, this will be my go to mode, glad you guys took a page out of Guerilla's book with Killzone. Oh yeah, and please bring back waved based co-op.

My guess is it'll work just like U2. Each playlist will contain several different modes and this new team objective mode will be one of the modes available under the TO playlist along with standard Plunder, Turf War, Chain Reaction, etc...

Look at the map voting screen, why bother having a section for the game mode if each playlist only consisted of one game mode.

I'll be playing that mode because I find it fun, regardless of the cash hit. Just playing to grind cash doesn't seem fun to me, because otherwise I'd just constantly chew through co-op arena for $30-40k over and over again.

Hopefully the retail game is balanced where people aren't too concerned with making money after hitting a certain point early on, and then people can just play the modes they find most fun.
The point is to make it possible for a person to level completely in a reasonable amount of time while playing one mode exclusively; a person playing solely TDM is going to level a hell of a lot faster than a person playing solely Objectives.

I would like to play Objectives 90% of the time in U3 but if I can earn double, triple, or even quadruple the amount of cash in TDM, what's the incentive? Fun isn't enough when the game constantly throws it in your face that you're leveling up and ties many gameplay elements into that leveling.

And I want cash because I know they're going to make Doughnut Drake a high level skin again and I need my fatty! >:[

I feel like I'm playing dress up with dolls because I'm so excited to be able to customize how my guy looks. Sigh, boys and their toys...

Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance convinced me every game would be a million times better if you could only change the stuff characters wore.

Coop hunter mode helped me answer my own question about the new weapons in U3. The raffica is a beast of a handgun and was a lot of fun to shoot. It's like having myself a small range G-Mal that I can use while carrying the treasure. I think I saw one other new gun but can't remember what it was.

I can't wait to see the other attachments in the full game as well since the M9's scope has me intrigued.

Ive put quite a few hours into this beta and im consistently frustrated by the bad mobility. There's a lot of good and a whole lot of bad in this thing.

Multiplayer needs more voice work in general, so lifeless.

True. Arne said that was one of the last things to do though.

Anyway, I was hearing a surprising amount of sounds today (from what little I played) compared to the last week of the beta. All kinds of different footsteps and grunts and breathing. It was weird as hell. Nice though. I love how varied the footsteps are. Stepping on grass sounds absolutely terrific.

I think I've found my rhythm in the beta, I'm really starting to enjoy it. Mind you, I've been playing Hardcore exclusively since some douche used that Smoke Bomb shit as I was laying into him, so I just rolled my eyes and disconnected. But Hardcore is about as equal to early U2 multiplayer as it's going to get, so I'm cool with that. Haven't tried any co-op as no one in my circle of friends has a PS3, but I'll give a whirl with some randoms before the beta wraps up.

I loveeee character customisation.

I really really hope they go crazy with the amount of stuff you can customise

And I hope the main characters have a good variety of stuff too

What is up with that Coop Hunter Areana mode..? played one game yesterday.. joined a game in progress.. but it never ended.. you just ran around taking treasure and putting them in chests, and off course you got raped by level 38 people while you tried to place the treasures.

what is supposed to be going on in that gamemode..? how does the game end, what is the purpose..bla bla bla ..?

Downloaded The Beta Finally.

To be honest today Matchmaking was really fast here and better then UC2.

GFX looks great but need some polishing imo.

Played Team Death Matches and it was a blast. The Boosters , power play are Fun as well.

Fix the Hunter mode, ND! My first game never ended so I just had to quit out. Played a second game and the opposing team leaves when we're up 8-1 with one minute remaining. The game ends abruptly and I don't get my cash.

Team Objective is awesome. I agree with everyone here saying the rounds should be longer.

Haha yeah, you can equip sandals too, such a lovely game. I usually ignore the customization part in most games, but it was kinda fun here.

it's a big problem of that co-op. =|

I actually prefer the movement of the beta, UC2 felt weightless, at least now Drake and co move about with some kinda chunkiness, they are human afterall.

Maybe increase sprinting speed a tad but overall i'm impressed.

Bit of a glitch here I think.

I was a level 15, only just mind you. Then I watched some of my cinema games, about 3 or so, after that I noticed I was almost level 18... I didn't play any games, but I gained 2 levels, almost 3.
