Uncharted 3 MP Beta Thread: Cinematic Murder Testing

Just had a funny buy in Airstrip, after the airplane part the game went into a black screen, and then BACK to the airplane section, except the lighting was all fucked up and the ground wasn't moving, it looked like the trucks were sliding around the plane, lolz.

I had another one like the second day the beta was available. It was where the turret is at by the airplanes. Part of the building where the turret is located was destroyed and I was under it, but it didn't kill me. I was stuck there. People could aim at me and hurt me, but my bullets didn't do anything. There wasn't a way to escape either so I had to wait till someone killed me. I actually got a PSN message from someone in the match calling me a cheater. :lol

One time when I was at airstrip the roof of that building you can walk on somehow floated 20 meters or something above the actual building. Looked kinda cool

I don't understand why people dislike airstrip so much...
well if you play hardcore mode there are no weapons on the map and it gets boring after a while. and the look of it in general, just a brown warehouse, not very..creative.

So how does the matchmaking system work exactly? Are there a lot of factors behind the scenes determining your skill? Or is it based solely on your level? Because what has happened about 8 times in a row now with hunter co-op is 3 people level are 20+ (I'm level 31) and one person is like 1-8. Every single game I am stuck with the low level guy and every single game we lose. We lose because I can't cure retardation, I try to explain to them how the game works, but they just rambo on and feed the other team.

It's like WoW 2.0, people are so fucking stupid and don't listen, it's just a fucking shame.

and yes I'm mad (in before umad.jpg)

I guess I always like symmetric maps and I really like sunsets so this is one of my favorite uncharted maps (including U2). The only part that I dislike is the first floor inside the hangar...

I don't know how you guys can say that, I wound up with 30k out of a Team objective as opposed to my usual 18-20k on TDM
If you have a good team or play against a good team, the match is usually over in less than 5 minutes with a 7-10k payout.

Two teams of randoms will have longer matches because most of them don't really know what to do or cannot communicate properly; since the match goes on and on, you get get more and more money by earning medals from killing.

Teams that are good and organized can shut out the other team in nearly every mode, and just like with Powerplays, they are punished for doing so.

There needs to be high value medals for completing the objectives -- what you're supposed to be doing in the match -- in either a timely or score based fashion.

Does anyone know if the scope upgrade for the M9 in coop is working or not? I see the icon on my M9 ingame but the scope itself isn't shown on the gun and nothing is different. I'm hoping it will work when coop story comes...

Am I missing something with it? I'd love to try the damn scope out...lol

Yeah this is pretty much how my experience goes. End up with people in Three Team Deathmatch who played the game like once. Then I go like 18 and 8 while my partner is some stupid low number like 2 and 11. Then we lose and I'm sad.

I love the game to death, but man I get sick of not having a dedicated group of people that can at least match kills to deaths.

How do you know you'll have a buddy in objective or regular team deathmatch? Does the game just do it for you?

It usually does it automatically but you can also get a buddy by high-fiving another player(down on the dpad).

Ugh. Can't it replace Airstrip instead.

This, but I imagine Airstrip needs more testing.

grenade toss at death, micro pistol auto aim, pistole and shotty autoaim, ppl exploiting glitches that let you shoot through walls, etc

I would also add the Chateau map, people with seemingly endless running energy without kickbacks or boosters, unusually fast firing by some players, people able to score kills through walls with a RPG, etc.

I almost wonder if there are people online using controllers with turbo or some cheats/exploits. ND needs to look into this IMO.

Doing well in this game is so satisfying... very rewarding gameplay.
I agree with others that Team Objective feels way too short. I even think Team Deathmatch usually goes by too quickly. Wouldn't mind the score being upped to 55 or 60.

I think the reason Airstrip stayed was because it's the map that has that 'cinematic' experience that you actually get to play so the people who couldn't download the beta previously for whatever reasons now have a chance to see it/play it.

Just remember that low level does not equal bad player.

Honestly its this reason alone why i'm a little weary about jumping into MP games with ranks after everyone else has gotten into them.

I honestly don't think it's fine and I'm surprised to read that you're fine with it. With the way it is now, every mode becomes a micro fest. You mentioned you don't want a camp and style play and that's fine as I also don't like that kind of play occurring in the matches, but I also don't like the way things are right now.

Oh, don't get me wrong--I see your point. It's just that I feel sidearm + Melee is closer to what I'd expect from Uncharted as opposed to hide w/Sniper Rifle, camp. You should have the ability to get up close and personal if you want.

It's just like the Shotgun from U2, the original auto-aim was a win button--they changed it a bit so it's less accurate, but still a one-shot kill. So the skill becomes getting close.

I think the compromise is to tone down the blindfire accuracy. So you sacrifice accuracy for firing speed (w/mods), but you can still punch someone in the face. I'd be fine with that too.

However, the wheat is quickly separated from the chaff without Down The Irons. I've seen quite a few guys from U2 that suddenly cant shoot for shit. It is glorious.

Bingo. They're a nice touch, although I will say that KZ3 Operations mode has the better cinematics--perhaps they'll had a few more by Oct. Like the winning team unleashes the Eldorado statue and escapes while the other team dies; or the winning team releases a cadre of spiders that swarms the other team. Stuff like that would spice it up a bit.

I hope they are working on grenades. They are too unpredictable and make no sense. I've seen people standing right next to my grenades, and one of them dies while the other survives.

I also think they should increase the damage guns can do the closer you are to the enemy in order to cancel out the unbalanced melee. Shooting should always > melee

Doing a melee and then backing away while shooting should > two melee punches.

At first I didn't really like Airstrip. The map was much too large and areas of it are severely under utilized during objective-based play. The areas of frequent action are predictable, and as a result, the map itself becomes an act of memorization and wave-by-wave gameplay.

Then I found out that you could close the garage doors. Sold.

I played like 3 matches of this game over the weekend, and it feels so totally off. Why is movement so insanely slow? Good luck trying to shoot anybody with your sights pulled up. The camera panning is so slow you may as well just stand there and get shot. The game encourages you to shoot from the hip so much that using the sights is actually a detriment because by the time you get the shot lined up somebody can have sprayed half a clip at you with their sights down and done enough damage to kill you. Sure half their shots missed but in the time they fired 30 rounds you fired 3.

What? I always use my sights to shoot unless I'm taken off guard. You don't track an enemy who runs behind you with your sights up.

If you're aiming when a guy is 2 feet away from you, you're doing it wrong.

There's a new patch. I'm downloading it right now. Any details on what it's about?

Edit; OMG They added Plunder!!

I love getting in games against 3 to 5 level 30s that are all partied together!
So you've played against GAF.

: P

There's a red arrow and a number in the main menu that tells you if you've got an invite. However there's no notification in game telling you about it. There's also a number in the party section that tells you how many members are in your party. It doesn't tell you who is on your party when you click on the friends tab.

Made 23k scoring three idols and getting 24 kills with 19 deaths in Plunder.

Why is it that when I'm playing alone, matchmaking is a little bit faster, but when I'm partied up with someone it takes forfucking ever. Ugh. It finds players and drops them right away. What the hell, man.

Really interested in this, so I hope a lot of people reply:

Who here, when UC3 is finally released, plans to jump right into multiplayer? Who, like me, refuses to touch anything other than the Campaign until it's finished? Are you worried about any spoilers pertaining to maps, characters, etc? Does anyone not even care about the single player?

Nice, looks like it doesn't go through the matchmaking process after every game anymore. Just keeps you with the same people and gets the next game going much faster.
