I doubt you're always host too, but you can't honestly say the melee in this game is perfect. How often are you melee killed? How often do you go for melee kills? How much beta have you played in the competitive game types? Play 10 games today and pay close attention to melees and I think you'll start to see where I'm coming from.
 
Ok, can anyone honestly tell me the relationship between Uncharted tv and bandwidth.

How much does it use? Is it using it all the time? etc.

are you playing from outside the USA, Canada or Central / South-America? the game has this laughable tendency to hand host to whatever player is closer to the main matchmaking server (located in the USA) no matter how many players from other regions are in the game... making the host advantage a pain for the poor Europeans, Asians, Aussies... (even if they got better Internet connections capable of hosting p2p matches way better) while those within the 'host advantage' area are several tenths of a second or even a full second ahead of you in the game, that's why you suffer from so many bs unfair disadvantage moments. But Arne said it, 'we prefer to invest the money to fund future projects instead of spending it on dedicated servers', as long as USA kids are happy with their host advantage bs they don't give a shit about the rest.

I think it streams the video the first time then it just caches it.

I'm from USA in Nebraska. I have a 16-20MBs download, and 5-6MBs upload. My net on my end is fantastic.

This is what I mean though. You'll see a person almost teleport into you to get a hit. As for the reason why they aren't doing dedicated servers that's their call, but it's the reason I won't be buying this game in November, and instead just renting it for the single player. I made up my mind a while ago to stop supporting half assed multiplayer attempts, and only give my money to those who beta test AND use dedicated servers. Anything less here in the year 2011 is downright lazy and shameful.
 
Here's a ridiculous bug. There's almost no window of opportunity for a player to leave matchmaking after the end of a match. The voting for the next one now starts almost immediately (at least from my experience).

living in the US and with that acceptable connection you should be handed host a lot of times or at least enjoy the 'host advantage' effect 99% of the games... I'm left here speechless. My router log doesn't lie, there's an American (continent) IP managing the data traffic in every U2-U3b game unless there was no US player in the match, as opposed to other p2p games which hand host in a different way.
 
I'll miss deploying two RPG kickbacks in a row. :|

I'm level 32, I think I've played plenty my friend. :P And I'm a micro user, so melee kills are routine for me.
 
Lol, launch game.

I wonder if I'll be able to hit at least Lv 30 before the beta ends. Lv 27 right now. Good to know kickbacks are now non-stackable, and even better that I can't find any mention to health adjustments.

i am liking the changes. glad they decided against stacking kickbacks, it was a needed change (although it was fun vanishing at will all the time during matches with stacked smoke bombs).

finally got my 4th completed treasure set. was level 25 the second day and have easily played more then 10 times each gametype. looks like i have achieved all the beta objectives. my body is ready for the subway promo.
 
Yeah, can't find any matches for the first time since the beta started.. (EU here).

How crucial is the rate of fire mod for AK-47? I seemed to lose every head to head battle earlier today even if I spotted the enemy first. Damn frustrating when you unload the whole clip to your enemy's upper body and still die first. Don't know if it's the lag or the fact that I'm only level 7 with no mods to my guns apart from the clip size..

They should change two things :

- reduce player health, it takes too many bullets to kill someone, very frustrating.
- make weapons more precise.

Essential since the M9 is terrible. There's a reason why most is using the AK with RoF mod and the Gmal while you hardly see any m9 users.

Usually you and I tend to disagree on things (Gears ahhh) but with the melee in UC I agree with you completely. My buddy and I had a game where we were within the normal melee lunge distance but instead we both stood still trying to melee a guy while he tried to melee us back. So there were 3 people standing still swinging for the fences with nothing happening. Then we had another instance where a guy got revived in Hunter and we were both standing behind him hitting him. Took about 8 hits before he finally went down.

Melee is the only thing I hate about UC. Well that and the fact that my smoke bombs can't stack anymore :(. I wish they would just make it to where only certain kickbacks could stack while others can't.

Any lists that starts with that, should end with a "This game just isn't for me. I'll find something else."

oops didn't realize plunder was added. nice! ya, i did the co-op games more then 5 times. Any idea what co-op adventure is? this is the first I have heard of it.

If they don't change anything then I'll just play solo / co-op, there are other big multiplayer games this fall.

Btw, where can I check how many games have I played? And do I need any treasure sets in particular or all 3 kinds are good to go?

If you ever played co-op in Uncharted 2, its like that.

And you played matches from start to finish? Not sure if joining a game in progress counts.
 
I wasn't that impressed with the beta when I first played it. Im so used to move controls in kz3 that slowly dragging my aim around feels really disconnected for me. Also the matchmaking never puts me into games. Ill buy u3 day one but the multi isn't doing it for me.

ruining the game for everyone else in the meantime... don't you enjoy using the traversal abilities to hunt your prey down ? do you really need to be able to kill anyone from 50 meters away with 2 bullets to feel 'enjoyment' when playing this kind of game ?

edit: also, how can you say 'fixed' when they are not broken?

Anybody else having controller issues? I had my Dualshock just stop responding for about ten seconds. After that, I turned the controller off and the game froze for about two minutes, while I was making a sandwich it came out of the freeze.

Sad to hear about not being able to stack medals anymore, but with the patches it seems like the performance of the game has gotten a little better, or I'm getting used to the slower controls. I still think traversal needs work, there are several places in both maps where I repeatedly have to jump in order to get my guy to grab a ledge or just walk across a threshold.
 
Aww man, kickbacks don't stack any more? I guess it makes sense, the smoke grenade was kind of annoying.

Also, what the hell is this facebook thing supposed to do? I logged in, and in the facebook tab, it shows nothing. Under the party tab, it shows my face, my psn name, and my real name.

Is that it?

Bumping up this question again. Anyone use the facebook feature yet?
 
Aw man, I liked stacking medals. I hardly ever had two saved up, but I liked that I didn't have to use my kickback as soon as I got it. I liked waiting for a strategic or fun opportunity.

I think they should make it so whenever a person named "French" presses any button everyone but him dies. Then this game would be awesome.
