Yeah that's what I meant, hip firing sorryLince said:blindfire I can't really say since I'm on the move all the time, I spend almost no time behind cover... but hip firing the AK is ridiculously overpowered now yes, even while jumping.
Here's a better test. Play Plunder in Uncharted 2 and tell me if the inclusion of Kill/Death Ratio in the leaderboards didn't fuck up that playlist along with the reduced health.squidyj said:People talk about high KDR being bad for objective based gameplay so here's a test. Every plunder and team objective match you play /played, look at the overall KDR of the teams and see who has higher KDR overall, winners or losers.

1. Hyperbole != overreactionZen said:If you think I was specifically addressing you, take heed, you're not that important. The over reacting bitch fest that was sprinkled with 'you can no longer do traversal/not buying this game/reading about the changes are making me skip this game at retail' stuff is what was way over the top. Noting factual weapon damage changes? Nothing wrong with that, everything else is a hilarious placebo effect and a funny/embarrassing example of human psychology.

Zen said:You can't write off clear cut statements by people, and the substance of their posts as merely hyperbole, and the things that really angered people didn't exist in reality. The GMAL wasn't changed, health wasn't reduced, things like the increased para damage were side notes.
And unless you have a very personal relationship with everyone in this thread, you can't authoritatively statement what was and wasn't hyperbole., and to write off everything is intellectually dishonest.
Lince said:Zen get some PS3s in the same house with your friends, launch U3b and play in a party with said friends, get host and notice the changes, if this happens right after updating to 1.04 would you believe it's the 'semi-LAN party gaming environment' or the patch? I thought it was the patch and thus I commented on it. Later on I said I was sorry and I explained my point of view according to that situation (which btw it has repeated early this morning), what else do you need? are you asking for bans or something?
One of the statements you mentioned was from one of my posts (what I was actually referring to, and I guess/hope I have a very personal relationship with myself), where it was clearly hyperbole made to show why some oppose a certain type of change.Zen said:You can't write off clear cut statements by people, and the substance of their posts as merely hyperbole, and the things that really angered people 't didn't exist in reality. Sorry, I missed your edit. Replying here. Honestly, I don't see all this outrage or any shit storm at all, but maybe it's just me?Zen said:I don't think you can just write everything off as hyperbole, I mean the placebo effect was pretty apparent.
The big things that really angered people didn't exist in reality. The GMAL wasn't changed, health wasn't reduced, things like the increased para damage were side notes and something the community asked for.
Some people accurately determining some weapon changes is meaningless, what does that have to do with anything, really, aside from being used as a jump to conclusions launch pad for the entire silly shit storm.
Jocchan said:When two widely used weapons get beefed up, even slightly, the most noticeable effect is that people die more quickly. Without a clear reference and enough data, it's not distinguishable whether the weapons were beefed up or the health was lowered. Dismissing everything as overreaction over nothing just because the GMAL wasn't touched is equally as wrong, because it ignores what was changed and the effect it had.
EDIT:

Heh, of course it's not a big deal. We're just discussingZen said:I think we can agree to disagree, I mean it's not a big deal at the end of the day.
Honestly, I think it should have been pretty easy for people to realize that they hadn't reduced the overall health. I figured out within 2 matches that it had to be a damage change and not an overall health reduction. I mean when you took a look at how things went when you got shot at full health versus an AK, for instance, it was pretty easy to determine what was and wasn't tweaked, even in an active environment.
To be fair I think Naughty Dog shares some of the blame with not having the patch notes show all the changes, that sort of thing leads to confusion. The changes they have made are really quite minor so far, aside from the para9, which still seems to be a fallback weapon as far as the community is concerned.
Aside from that a ton of stuff in that patch runs contrary to the overall idea that was propagating, I mean that fucking Micro got both a damage and accuracy decrease, thank god. The AK only got a lock on increase from cover.
Sorry for the edits, by the way, I'm stuck on no sleep due at the moment.
It's 10th already and they still haven't updated the new gamemodes. I really want to try out the Co-op adventure mode.M.D said:When do the new gametypes and map go live?
