Uncharted 3 MP Beta Thread: Cinematic Murder Testing

That would encourage people to help planting the explosives.

fully agree, S&D would be very fun in U3
 
I don't like the cluster grenade anymore. I feel I have roughly the same chances of killing a teammate than an opponent, and I feel guilty everytime the former happens.

I'll have to think of other kickback for when the full game gets released.

definitely, that should help keeping the CoD players away from the real 'Uncharted' modes.

You can't, they only show 4 matches a page. You're better off guess at what you haven't played enough of.

Also, my stats are not so hot. Knew I would be better at the last game than this one :(

AND... ties should mean one more round, count as a wash not as a tie. Maybe they're worried about people gaming the system and farming cash, but if that's the case make it best of 5 with a 7 round limit.

Also, TDM objective should be 200 points, or at least 150. 100 goes way too fast.

And most importantly, if a team is holding a hill or the treasure in the objective and that team is down while the timer runs out, the game should keep going in overtime until the losing team gains enough points to win, or until the winning team takes the objectives. This would extend the play time of TO a bit (which most agree needs to be extended), and lead to more exciting games - more "edge of your seat" moments. Same for DM in TO - if the score is tied, let it go until the next kill. But King of the Hill and Treasure Whatever are the modes that would most benefit from this change.
 
when TDM plays in Team Objective mode I find it ridiculous that it only lasts for a minute. It almost always comes down to last-second luck.
 
I really hate when party members are dropped by the matchmaking when you join ongoing games.

The worst part is how short the time is. It should be much longer, at least 2 or 3 minutes.
 
Oh man, getting from level 24 to 25 is taking me ages... just wasted at least 40 mins playing co-op arena without gaining any xp or cash. In the first game I was waiting in the siege area for my dumbass team mates to come there (they were just shooting and reviving each other) and finish the siege but apparently the game kicks you out if you don't move the controller for a few mins. In the second match, the game froze when there was only a couple of minutes left... In the third game one of my team mates quits in the middle of the game and I'm thrown back in the lobby without any xp or cash... Just beautiful. These co-op modes are just useless when you are playing with these random morons.

if you are any good, play FFA. Tons of cash for a <10 minute match.
 
So you can't exit out of co-op adventure matchmaking unless you actually quit completely out of the beta? Who the hell designed this?

The time between the end of the match and the start of new matchmaking is way too short. A bug. You can get around this by just signing out of PSN via the XMB.
 
i wish i could mute part of the players .( on the lobby or while playing )i'm playing and this dude just joigned the game and keep hiw mic ON with that baby crying on the background ... and i can't shut him off even after returning to the lobby my only choice is to either mute everyone ( and my teammates ) or keep everyone ON.

ND meed to do something about it ..

you can be a godo player if you mic is ON 95% of the time with annoying Background noises , i just can't ..
 
That's why I usually won't use headset even though I have one. I live in a really noisy household, with a teenager daughter, a small 6 yo, an obnoxious dog and everything that comes with the territory.

Sometimes, I'll use it late at night when everybody's asleep, but nothing else.

You can mute. Bring up the scoreboard while in game, use the dpad to select the person, press X to mute. You can do it in the lobby after a match as well by bringing up the scorecard.

Hold L1 to pop out and aim at him.

Press R1 to shoot.

And... gun doesn't fire.

Guy sees me and proceeds to kill me while I'm busy mashing R1, trying to make it start working.


Has this happened to anyone else? Because it's happened to me several times now. Is it crappy programming, or just a really poorly designed mechanic that doesn't let you shoot from cover at certain angles that it doesn't let you know until you're actually trying to shoot?
 
There are a bunch of hanging points that don't let you shoot which definitely need to be fixed before release. Did that little disconnect logo show up?

You can't shoot at angles where the cover doesn't allow your character to keep the weapon straight. If you have room to hold your weapon, it should shoot.
I guess it was lag, sometimes I have this sort of issue, the gun seems to take half a second too much to start shooting (even when running around firing from the hip).
 
I finally got the stats page working somehow:

Yeah... I could do better but I'm happy with those for now.
And after going through all the pages of the matches played, I seem to have enough matches in all game types for both of the beta decal packs. Yay!
 
Joined a late Plunder game, bunch of kids farming Chateau for kills, god knows why. They had thrown the treasure off into an unreachable cliff. I couldn't help myself and used the glitch to kill them all. :lol

This happens to me a lot on the vertical section of the co-op adventure level.
 
I got to level 25 but I don't think I'm ever going to complete 4 medal sets (way too random), so I reckon I'm done with the beta now.

I really enjoy Uncharted's campaigns but mp feels pretty janky to me. The damage I take and deal out seems really inconsistent, melee is weirdly borked, and the loosey goosey gunplay and sticky platforming, which are fun in sp, don't translate over very well. A big part of that though could be that I just don't like the Playstation controller for shooters at all. Co-op is still fun when everyone's on the same page at least. I'll probably still dip into mp every once in a while in the full release, but sp will be where I spend most of my time.

I think I've played the beta more than UC2 multiplayer. It's so awesome.

Yep. Basically I pressed X when a round finished, silencing a teammate by mistake. I pressed up to activate his mic again, and I wasted a Medic kickback :/
Two things that shouldn't happen, in a row.

I still don't like the powerplays and we still haven't used/broken all the boosters and kickbacks. The loadouts also should go away. It's still super fun though.

No need to. I stated that if they had a barebones/hardcore mode, I'd be okay with the kickback etc BS. That's all I basically played this beta. If other modes had a hardcore sub-category, I would have played those too.

After getting to level 43, I still say that.

Powerplays are nothing more than a distraction. I have to stop playing the way that I get enjoyment because the game decides to put a bullseye over me for everyone to see, or it forces me to camp in a secluded area of the map to not get 1 hit KO'd -- again, hampering my enjoyment.

The only time Powerplays have made a difference is when Marked Man kicks in when the score is 44-40 and the mark gets fucked by shitty spawns. Every other time they are an unwelcome inconvenience.

Kickbacks aren't that much of a problem but they are still unnecessary.

Overtime/Sudden Death is absolute bullshit that can rob a team of a legitimate comeback when the game decides that they "didn't really win."

Sprinting is completely useless and only exists because they lowered the base movement speed.

Hardcore is there for the no frills mode but has it's own problems because of different weapon damage and buddy spawning.

Buddy Spawning is a nuisance in modes other than 3TDM and it nearly breaks Plunder and all Territories modes.

Loadouts should never have been implemented. U2's system was perfect -- but then, ND has to change what isn't broken...


Overall, as someone who has put over 400hrs into U2 alone (not counting the 2 betas), I'm very disappointed with how U3 is turning out.

At least it's only going to get better with all the other boosters we didn't get to try, like Regeneration...
