Uncharted 4 multiplayer will run at 900p / 60fps

Absolutely fine with me, frame rate is king.

Eh... I'm yet to buy a 900p game this gen.

Would not have expected this from Naughty Dog of all people.

Looks amazing, 60 FPS is a must for multiplayer and I'm sure this will be the best looking 900p 60 FPS experience today :).

900 doesn't look bad on many tvs. If it saves enough performance to make up the gap between xbone and ps4, I would like to see more ps4 games take the resolution hit for framerate or even effects. I find the difference between 900 and 1080 to be easily noticeable but not offensive at all.

Framerate above all else. Really happy they agree. Game will be amazing, people will forget all about their problems with this decision once they start playing.

900p even on PS4 is likely to get more common as the gen progresses. The time to be upset about the possibility of 900p games this gen was back when they revealed the hardware. The consoles are not super powerful, we have known that for a while.

I wish they cut down the map detail instead of sacrificing image quality, Uncharted 3 in the NDC looks fantastic so I was hoping ND would find a nice middle ground between that and U4 single player.

Watching the stream I thought they must have cut MP to 30fps because it's so dense with vegetation.

Battlefront looks fantastic at 900/60 too. As I've said before, the added temporal res of 60fps helps offset 900p blur a fair amount.

I would normally say that Resolution trumps 60fps, but not for a high active multiplayer shooter. Framerate matters for this kind of game.

I hate to stop all the fun, and I am sure this has been brought up before!

But where in the article did Naughty Dog confirm this would run in 900p? The article says Naughty Dog confirmed the game was 60fps, but they just throw that 900p number out there in the first paragraph and that is it really.

Also.

For people asking them to give an option for 900p/60fps Single Player. I doubt it's that easy.
Uncharted has historically looked much nicer in single player than multiplayer and this seems to be no exception. The multiplayer looks good, but the graphical downgrade compared to singleplayer is very obviously more than just the resolution. On top of that the single player seems to have larger environments, way more elements on screen and the crazy setpiece moments.
If you want to keep the single player graphics we have seen until now, lowering the resolution to 900p is probably not going to give you 60fps

Yep.

I have a decently shaped TV (48 inch) and found the Battlefront beta to look amazing.
Mabye I'm blind because according to some posts on this thread it was a barely playable blurry mess

It's been confirmed a few times now. The footage is 900p and they've talked about it in person with several people at the show.

I'd actually would rather a downgrade in gfx to hit 1080p60, as to me 1080 is the absolute target you should start with this gen, but I guess that's what they're going with.

I'm absolutely fine with 1080/30 in SP, as long as its not too "variable".

I don't feel any particular type of way about this but the reactions in this thread are pretty great. Lucky I have piss poor standards for graphics.

I don't think 60fps and subnative res is worth it. There, i said it.

I played gears competitively for years and still had a great time, played Halo for years at 30fps and still had a great time. UC4 at 1080p30fps for all modes would be absolutely fine for me.

I hate this new obsession with a number over consistency.

It is even worse because i hate games that differ in framerate and res on a mode basis to begin with, just keep everything the same
