Uncharted Movie Officially Underway

Cool, I'm down. Could be a fun movie series just on premise alone.

The Grey was one of my favorite films of 2011, that script was fantastic. I have hope.

Dude wrote and directed The Grey, my movie of the year for 2011.

Optimistic-ish.

Honestly, that's why I'm somewhat hopeful that this won't be a complete disaster, since Carahan does have really good instincts for survival stories. Granted, The Grey isn't exactly a pulp blockbuster, but it's not as wildly divergent as some might think.

We already have an Uncharted movie.

I don't get why people are so opposed to Wahlberg. It's cause of Ted isn't? Isn't it!? You can admit, damn it! A guy makes a few movies centered on a teddy bear, and all of a sudden he's getting hate. Teddy Bears are people, too!

UC was already a generic indiana jones action movie ripoff, why make a movie in reverse? What is the situation on the TLOU movie anyway?

Movie GAF-casting will never not be hilarious. Hey, people financing this $100 million movie, put the guy from the Garfield movie or this tv actor that nobody knows in the lead!

Why would you want someone who is not the least bit charming to play ND? Lol. Have you seen him in movie? Mark wahlberg is a terrible actor

Why not Chris Evans? He's an A lister, age seems just about right, and he's looking to move on from Marvel and the Captain America role. Though video game movie probably won't be desirable for him.

Hell you don't even need to restyle his hair.

Sully needs to be someone with a smooth gruff voice like he's been drinking scotch and chewing on cigars for most his life.

It's because Nate is fucking hot and Wahlberg... isn't. Plus, he's way too old for the part. Nate is maybe in his late twenties in Drake's Fortune, Wahlberg is 45 and looks it.

I hope they don't cast Daniel Day-Lewis in this. His preparation for the role would take too many lives.

I would hope this is a one-time thing not based on any story from the game, tbh.

We have those games to play to see those stories, to have those experiences. I would probably not care to see it if it I knew everything that was going on.

Crossing my fingers for a new heist.

Evans could work, yeah:

He's not perfect in terms of facial similarity but he's not too old, he's hot so yeah, I'd be happy with him as Nate I think.

you cant make fillion drake because he's freaking 6'2

look at lazarevic vs drake in this scene

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BKkMYyidae4#t=2m

lazarevic will be 6'2 at most and drake should be at most 5'10

this guy looks the most like drake to me:

dudes 5'5 but drake's supposed to be kind of a agile circus dude

Was he Franklin or Bash? I can't remember. He's not getting a starring role in an action movie.

Matt Damon or bust.

This feels so pointless...

This may be the most unecessary game to film adaption ive heard of. The game are already paced so much like a film that this just feels redundant

My thoughts, exactly. The whole point of the Uncharted games is to be able to play as the hero of those kinds of movies. Complete with over the top set pieces.

Even so, I'd want to see Nate in his heyday which would probably be mid twenties to late thirties. Plus, if they're going with the game timeline, then Nate had been out of the treasure hunting business for a while before the events of A Thief's End which was supposedly his last big adventure so even if you sneak any extra adventures into the timeline for the purposes of the film, it'd have to be when Nate was at least a few years younger than he is in ATE.
