Uncovered FFXV Event page source hints at PC (maybe boilerplate code) [Up: Removed]

It's 2016 and yet the people behind game hot site development, doesn't know:

  • how to minify JS
  • how to use git (they stick with comments)
For real. It's so stupid whatever the case may be.

Minify it and people won't even bother to look through the code.

Oh man, I hope this is real. I was planning on building a gaming PC later this year anyway, what a perfect inaugural title. Totally fine if it comes late, I will still play the ps4 version at launch.

...that JavaScript code is not great though, just sayin'.

Keep in mind, Square Enix's recent PC ports have been dodgy at best, and busted at worst. I'm not getting my hopes up for this staying on-par with Lightning Returns.

eh, none of their games have been busted.

at their worst, they're just not well optimized. there's zero reason that FFXIII and its siblings should struggle to go north of 30 fps outside of the games not being well optimized.

But as far as their playability, even if you locked the games to 30 fps the resolution bump alone makes the PC versions the ones to get.

so naw, not busted, just low effort ports that work perfectly fine but have zero flash to them

For new page.. While it might come to PC at some point so far we just have a template they used also with the Rise of the Tomb Raider page.

http://buyrottr.com/js/main.js

It's possible that they just didn't remove the Steam related code and this is not any indication of a March announcement for a PC release.

I don't want that people will get disappointed because of some lazy web developers :p

I put the odds of FFXV coming to PC at about 99.9% regardless of what the code says on any website given how many of the FF games have already made it over. Likely a late port, but it's pretty much coming.

Of course it's coming at some point, and I will double dip, but I would not bet that there is any word about it in March just because of this code.

Would be great but trying to manage expectations :p

This should be added to the OP, definitely weakens the PC case.

Also makes the quality of the code even less forgivable.

Well to be fair, looking at both, it doesn't seems to be that much of a copy/paste thing. Especially for the pc.retailer thing which on the tomb raider page doesn't have mention of consoles version for retailers while the 3 are here for the FFXV page. Now, I guess code mentionning X platform will be the same across pages.

Thanks! Yeah lazy webdevelopers seem to be the cause of this, sorry for not thinking about that before making the thread. Edited the OP.

I'd be surprised to see the PC version launch along the console version. Maybe they're happy with the new Denuvo DRM (which was used in Just Cause 3 and Rise of the Tomb Raider)!?

Tabata gave a 5 minute answer about Steam and the PC for Final Fantasy XV at Gamescom where it was pretty evident it was coming, but it sounded like a late port.

As long as it runs at 60fps/1080p I dont care! I need that 60fps with Noctis beautiful Animation Movement!

Godlike!

Left is TR, right is FFXV:

They added some stuff, removed some stuff, but it's from the same boilerplate.

Spirited

Mine is pretty and pink
Why would they copy paste in the PC retailer part and add ps4 retailer which isn't in the RotTR code then?

Man I hope this comes to PC. I really hope it gets released on PC within the same window as Consoles!

My hype meter would be out of the atmosphere if the PC version gets announced!.

This sounds like another backlash waiting to happen.

I would just wait for an official announcement before getting too carried away with excitement, everyone.

RurouniZel

Asks questions so Ezalc doesn't have to
The real question will be whether the port is good at launch. I'd definitely get on PC but I fear a buggy launch with missing/poorly implemented features.

I hope this news materializes soon enough. FFXV looks nice enough on PS4, but the graphical upgrades provided by a PC version would be considerable, as they usually are, especially on open world titles. Nevermind that FFXV is subHD on both consoles and can't sustain a stable 30fps as of the last Duscae update..

It's pretty wild that every single mainline FF could wind up on Steam if that FFX leak was true and they actually do a FF12 remake.

They must be making good money on Steam.

FFXIII sold over half a million copies on Steam.

So yeah, they're making some green in there.

I don't doubt it'll come eventually to PC but I think you guys are stetting yourselves up for disappointment if you think it's going to release on the same day as the consoles

Wut? it was 1600x900 on PS4 and some weird 7xx res on Xbox One...

im willing to wait 6 months to a year just so i can play it on pc, no way is it worth buyuinga new ocnsole just for this.

I see it happening. However I see them saving it for later in the year. So they can use it as double dip incentive.

At this rate, Persona 5 will be literally the last game I bought a PS4 for lol

Not that I'm complaining though. I'd much rather have everything on PC if I can help it.
