Stranglehold

Stranglehold 2 (Cancelled)

Too Human. The fact that I'll never get the trilogy still stings.

Oh, and I don't know if I'd call it underrated, but I hate that we're not getting Alan Wake 2. :(

Quest 64 is not a good game, but I loved it a lot as a kid and was so excited for the sequel that I printed out this IGN article to show my friends at school.

As expected, no one cared but me.

Kameo 2 and Perfect Dark Core, although admittedly the concept art for Kameo 2 looked much more realistic and horrendous.

Both had good launch titles for their time, PDZ had 32 players online and I thought it was fun but obviously suffered a lot due to its development issues and hasn't aged well at all, though.

Kameo was very fun, I enjoyed it and hoped we'd see a sequel but that will probably never happen now, looked great and still holds up well (graphically) now.

Turok's sequel got cancelled too, that was a shame as despite some issues I liked it.

Oh god don't it still hurts :(

Was TS really underrated though? Also, this may still be on the back-burner right?

Also also: isn't it because Free-Radical went tits up that this game went dev hell?

Underrated enough that the third game's marketing got shanghai'd in favour of the newest attempt to ape Goldeneye. Also, it's basically been confirmed at this point that interest in the series is so low, they can't even justify a HD remake.

Oh, and the company they're part of now is one of the most dull, homogenized members of the AAA crew, so a cartoony game like TS is basically never getting made under them.

This was an amazing ass game! I remember sequel was in the works and was going to be called Imperial Commando but was cancelled.

It was still under development when they were Cry UK. Then they got to do shitty Crysis MP modes.

I've never forgiven Ubisoft for surprising everyone and actually announcing Beyond Good & Evil 2, only to never mention it again.

Though, granted that's more underrated sales-wise than it is critically.

The Bourne Conspiracy was supposed to get a sequel. I recall seeing very brief video footage somewhere on Youtube. Looked good. Shame.

Split/ Second.

Despite the incredibly lame rubber-banding, I loved that game so much and got 100% completion in it. The set piece destructible environments looked absolutely phenomenal at full-spec on PC.

The Legend Of Dragoon :/

The Darkness 2 :/ :/

Bulletstorm :/ :/ :/

Darkwatch :/ :/ :/ :/

Dante's Inferno :/ :/ :/ :/ :/

Timesplitters :/ :/ :/ :/ :/ :/ :/

I see that the first post has already covered Outcast. What an amazing, innovative game. To this day it doesn't get the (critical) recognition it deserves.

Advent Rising.

I loved the game (and its wonderful OST) and I think it was originally planned to be a trilogy but it was canceled because no one bought it. They also were developing a PSP spinoff called Advent Shadow (screenshot below) that also was canned :(

Mortal Kombat Fire & Ice
Sequel to Shaolin Monks

A sequel, a PSP port were in the works and even an HD port was considered. The game sold well in the long run, but low preorders and sales at first (it shipped a million in nearly 2 years across two platforms) and lack of interest from the general public (at first) were part of the reasons the sequel/ports never took of. The original dev team ended mostly with THQ after Midway's fallout...and we all know what happened to THQ.

Is why Ed Boon usually mentions that people should let WB know another one is wanted. They know people has been asking for more over the years, and while the first one did well, it wasn't as well as a publisher would like to continue spending on more.
