US PSN Summer sale (July 2nd-16th)

FYI, the SotC deal is awesome, however you CAN get the collection new from Gamestop for $19.99.. If you at all think you might want Ico at some point, that is still the better deal.

No journey, no infamous: festival of blood. Sad face...
Festival of Blood was JUST like $4.89 right before E3 (less than a month ago). No way that was going up again so soon.

edit - and oh yeah.. journey too.. I picked that up for $7.49 since I renewed my Plus sub (late-Feb)

This is Bullshit. My Launch PS3 just got the YLOD this week.

I have an unplayed copy of Metal Gear Rising and I was in the middle of a God of War Ascension playthrough.

I was going to get the Last of US soon and I'd be completely tempted to bite on some of these PSN deals.

I'm so sad. I own so much content for my PS3 that now feels borderline worthless to me.

:(

FYI, TLoU and PS3 phat apparently don't play real well together. I just traded my phat in for PS4 credit so have only played it on my slim... but lots and lots and lots of reports of TLoU locking up (probably heat issues) on PS3 phat.

Feel your loss though.

160GB slims starting at $149.99. They might be a little beat up.. but at this late in the gen should be perfectly fine going forward..

Something is wrong with me. My immediate reaction to this list screams. Get Ico/Shadow of Colossus for only $5!!! But I could wait to get it for free....

That's because Tools of Destruction was pretty awful :P Ratchet HD collection is the three PS2 games which are all far better than ToD :)

ToD was superior to any of the first three games, although those are great in their own way. I actually have trouble fathoming how somebody could have the opinion you hold since ToD is so similar to the old games (only with better graphics).

How's Alice GAF? Beatable in 6-8 hours? I can't stand long games these days.

If you need to recover save files, look up the blow dryer trick and have a usb drive handy.

I think it just felt like more of the same compared to Up your arsenal and Going commando.

$5 is less than a combo at McDonald's.

Does the PS3 version of Batman:AA run well? I've played a few hours of AC but didn't really care for it too much but maybe that was because I never played the first.

I played through Batman AA on PS3 and it seemed to run fine.

I've played none of that second batch, well excluding The Simpsons at actual arcades.

With those cheap PS+ prices, I think I'll at least spring for LEGO Batman 2. I've never played any of the LEGO games, and that's quite a steal. Not sure if anything else really grabs me.

Only Silent Hill Book of Memories for me--got everything else in there that would've interested me otherwise.

I'm gonna buy these :) :

  • Batman Arkham Asylum (PS3)
  • Mortal Kombat (PS Vita)
  • Alice: Madness Returns (PS3)
  • LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes (PS3)

I didn't know that. Guess I got lucky then because I played through the entire game on my phat as my Slim isn't hooked up at the moment. I know one day it's going to break down and eat a new disc but until that day I'm living dangerously. :P

Some of those PS+ discounts are great... I wonder if this is a last chance to monetize some of these titles from PS+ subs before they get offered as part of the IGC for the U.S. ?

For me, these are tempting:

Silent Hill: Book of Memories (PS Vita) – Regular Price: $29.99 Sale Price: $14.99 PlayStation Plus Price: $7.50

I hate this game with a passion and would recommend you play literally any other dungeon crawler in existence, like Path of Exile which is free and shits on this games face. I might be in the minority though, but if this game were a person I would make it eat its own limbs and videotape it while forcing it to listen to We Like to Party by Vengaboys.

Anyways, I recently got into Injustice and love it. I think I have to pick up Mortal Kombat. I grew up on that series so hopefully it's a fun ride.

Awesome. American McGee's Alice is free on all platforms because it was part of an Online Pass, and EA has made all Online Passes free.

Just as a PSA, even if your Phat dies, your disc is not lost. Do the hot air hair drier trick on the back vents (plenty of youtube videos) and you can get your system running long enough to eject the disc and download whatever data to usb.

Also there should be a small screw or something on the bottom of the system that allows you to manually eject the disc. I forget whether its just on the slim or on the phat as well though.

Batman:AA
Lord of the Rings
Prince of Persia Forgotten Sands

For $5 I will get, I might get more still waiting for pricing of some of those Live games if some of the older good ones are $10 or less.

I'll probably pick up Batman: AA. I never finished the challenges, so this would drive me to do it. Sorry if I glanced over it somehow but how big is the digital version? I just read that retail saves are compatible with it so I can just pick up where I left off.

Neither of those worked for mine.

I had to take it apart piece by piece until I could finally get to the disc. It took hours.

I don't know what it was exactly but it just lacked something for me. It was such a drag to play. I had to pull myself through it and make myself finish it. With the PS2 games i enjoyed every months and was never bored. I dunno :(

R&C HD is will worth it any way you cut it though

You're wrong. The first R&C is pretty awful now.

Hell no. Still one of the best in the series. Also, this comment will be completely shat on here, but i prefer controls in the original. Works so much better than lock strafe.
