Well, if you want to learn some guitar then it seems like a pretty good option, assuming it's not super expensive.jamesinclair said:Yeah of course.
But music game sales have plummeted. Saying "hey, heres a much harder version!" will not pick up sales. Yes, you can play the same old guitar on easy with 84 new songs.....but that has been the case for the past 5 years. See DJ hero sales as an example.
A full size MIDI guitar will be expensive. This is the problem, really.NameGenerated said:Well, if you want to learn some guitar then it seems like a pretty good option, assuming it's not super expensive.

The YouRock guitar, which seems an obvious comparison, is $200, I think. When you consider Harmonix charged $100 for a fake Beatles guitar, that price doesn't seem too unlikely.birdman said:I'm wondering if the cost to put all that shit in a guitar has lowered from last year or not. I know the guitars themselves that they plan on using are fairly cheap, but the electronics to make it work with RB3 are a completely different thing.

The keyboard has buttons somewhere on it's body, so I'm pretty sure you'll have to press one them. Or maybe you can tilt it since you can play with it standing up.Wario64 said:Wonder how overdrive works on the keyboard

They mentioned a touch strip and possibly some buttons on the neck of the keyboard, iirc. Probably use something on that side.Wario64 said:Wonder how overdrive works on the keyboard

Real guitar?
If you want it real, just buy a real guitar or keyboard or whatever. No need to buy a game along.
I dont know. I wanted the music genre to grow and evolve, but this seems like the wrong turn for it.
Guitar Hero aint making anything better with the "Same thing, but MOAR" approach either.
Im staying away from more plastic stuff... the same way i kept a fair distance from Tony hawk ride....
A lot of songs on expert are just a handful of chords.BananaBomb said:Depends on how you play. Learning a handful of chords to play pop songs is easier than expert mode for sure.
:lol /insert rage!TheGreatDave said:Except for Snow.
Yep.Datwheezy said:New instruments. A new mode with added depth, and the ability to teach yourself an instrument. Plus backwards compatibility with everything you already own? I'm not a music genre fan at all, but damn, this looks like a sequel done right.
