To be honest, this doesnt just apply to pans.
Like...when you cook don't you use a bunch of tools like spatulas, tongs, measuring cups, etc? So do you wash all of those "manually" after each use too?

This is why people don't like to cook btw..such a hassle

I have to ask: How old are you?
Yes, with a sponge and soap and it takes literal minutes, possible a single minute. Run hot water, soap the sponge, sponge the utensils, rinse the utensils. Done and done in less time than loading a dishwasher.
Yes?
It takes like, 10 minutes to wash up after cooking man.
I have to ask: How old are you?
Also, a good tip is to clean while you cook. As soon as you are done using something, wash it. Then, after dinner, wash the last of the pans and what not.
Where do you put all this stuff after you manually wash it? Won't it get water everywhere? You can't put it in the dishwasher with all the dirty dishes or do I need a countertop dish rack....uggh

Yeah, you dry them with a towel or buy a rack. It's not complicated, dude.
Is using a dishwasher really such an outlandish concept?
No, he's serious.Do people really think this cunt can't figure out where to dry a wet pan? This is some cunt giving the cooking-gaf equivalent of SOME GIRL SIAD WE CYD HAV SX, SILD I DY IT?

No, that's what I plan on doing, but I wasn't sure if you have to run it if you're going to do breakfast in the morning and then dinner later that day

What's your problem? I only use my dishwasher to wash dishes. I don't have a drying rack because I don't need one, my dishwasher dries it and then I unload my dried dishes into the cabinet and repeat

It seems slightly outlandish that you are not aware of the use of towels as a means to dry dishes. His problem is you're either completely moronic, or a troll. Either way you seem to have offended him.
I'd apologize.

It just seems really wasteful to use the dishwasher that often. I really only uses when I have to make a big meal and there`s tons of stuff that needs washing.
I was not aware that people use towels to hand-dry dishes.
To be honest, this doesnt just apply to pans.

I never understood why blatant trolls were allowed on GAF.
I was not aware that people use towels to hand-dry dishes. I've never done that before. However I have rinsed off items and placed it in a dishwasher so I assume you do the same thing except with a countertop rack, which I don't have because I just use my dishwasher like I've said several times.
This just reinforces my thought that manually cleaning stuff inbetween each cooking session is a lot of work.
I'm sorry if I offended anyone
I agree, that's why this thread. The problem is that I only have two pans but I'm starting to learn how to cook and the cleanup is a big question mark for me. Was wondering how other people deal with it

so this is a joke thread?
I don't know why everyone thinks this is a joke or troll. Here are my posts and threads talking about cooking and my concerns with cleanup, one of the barriers of entry to getting started with cooking:

You just need to get your cooking process down. Make it more efficient. Instead of standing there watching your food cook, go wash something you`re not going to use again.

I'm honestly a bit shocked that you have given cooking this much thought, but still don't appear to understand the most basic concepts behind it.
Just go to Target/Walmart and spend $100 on a full set of pots and pans, cleaning supplies, and a basic cookbook.
You're an adult, so it's time to start acting like one. Learning how to cook and clean for yourself is a major part of that.
oh snap, you made the thread about grilled cheese with mayo!
yeah, i switched to Mayo and i ain't evaaaaa going back.
but yeah, what other people have been saying... wash stuff when you have free time during the cooking process. there's usually lots of downtime.
