yes, but source 2 isn't half life 3.

any exposure is good exposure. no one is going to be a hippie thinking, "we don't care we so popular #yolo".

if they are going to announce it, might as well do it through a platform where millions of people tune in.

That's why I said communicate with fans. Portal 2 was 'announced' via a patch to the Steam version of Portal 1 (modifying the ending) that fans were the first to see. If they're going to announce it it'll probably be more directly tied to their community rather than a massive conference which they've historically never done for a game announcement.

Their business allows them to have that flexibility, hell their business relies on that relationship with their fans.

How are people still not understanding the context of the tweet?

It started with this:

To this:

People presumably begin questioning why it won't be released until after Sony's conference and he responds with:

And then the tweet in question:

He was just throwing out random scenarios that could explain why they're waiting until after Sony's conference to release the issue.

My money is that it's Project Beast. NDAs would explain why the media is completely avoiding acknowledging that leak, even though it's clearly legit.

about time, although it really shouldn't have come to this.

It's also a company that announced Portal 2 for the first time....at a Sony E3 press conference.

No they didn't, the Sony conference revealed Steam integration for the PS3 version of Portal 2 (a feature than went nowhere after that). Portal 2 was softly announced March 1 with a Portal 1 patch, followed by a Game Informer article.

Well..they did announce Left 4 Dead 2 at Microsoft's conference a few years ago.

Also with the 2010 Games Developer Conference fake-BSOD with Glados.

it was dumb wording of his that really didnt read as a joke at all

I agree that it should have been taken with a grain of salt, thus the questionable title but yeah, I think it was a pretty useless joke

True, I forgot about that. Still, they were in a pretty different position back in 2009 and I imagine Turtle Rock had most of the input there.

Turtle Rock had very little to do with Left 4 Dead after the release of the first game. Left 4 Dead 2 was definitely a Valve project.

Huh, I thought that was still a 'Valve South' project before they left. But yeah I don't recall much about the development of that game.

Valve and Sony will release a special joint edition of The Last Guardian and Half Life 3. it will be named Shenmue 3.

It would be Left 4 Dead 3 and support cross-play between PS platform and PC.

Well, as it is multiplatform game, then I will play it on Xbox One.

So if this and the other rumors are true, Sony's Conference will be full of third parties:

Destiny

Valve

Battlefield Hardline

Assassins's Creed Unity (Probably)

I hope there's some time left for some surprises (other than Project Beast).
