Valve presenting something at Sony's E3 show?

So basicly we have one conference where we have Half-Life 3, Project Beast, Agent, Shenmue 3 and The Last Guardian (the 5 beeps from DemonNite) all wrapped into one and the other where we have a HD port of the Halo-series. *snicker*

Well, it's certainly being rumoured (or hyped) as such.

On a serious note I do feel that Sony is holding a few really good cards that'll make a considerable hand. Can they "beat" the competition? Most likely but we still don't know what desperate Microsoft (and they've been desperate since january) can manage to accomplish (in half a year). And if Sony has Valve backing them up it's certainly something. Let's see what it is.

cs: go finally released in europe

*avatar quote*

With how Valve treated the console versions, maybe it's for the best they skipped Europe.
Probably for the best the console versions don't have the drops

Honestly, if it's L4D: Good for it going multiplatform now. But I really would rather Valve continue to push their "cross-buy" with Steam/PSN functions if they could.

OH MY GAWD, PEOPLE.

Can a mod please edit the title to reflect he was joking? I'm not trying to backseat mod or anything, it's just causing so much confusion.

Jesus. YOU DON'T PLAY WITH THE POSSIBILITY OF A HALF LIFE 3 ANNOUNCEMENT.

Valve will never do Half-Life 3 even though it's the only game I want them to do.

Please Valve, you've kept me waiting longer than Big Boss.

YOU'RE TEARING ME APART, GABEN.

Please give me and a bunch of other people another awesome Half-Life game. ;__; PLEASE?

Please?

If it's left 4 dead 3 I'll be really disappointed.

What if Valve is doing the only thing they know nobody else would - admitting they aren't good enough to do it yet.

What kind of agreement did MS have for the L4D games? If they published, I don't see why they'd let L4D3 go, it'd be a big exclusive.

Imo when HL3 finally launches (not exactly sure what the hold up is... the expectation from the public can't get any greater, it can only diminish with more years) it will be Definitive Edition on Steambox, runner up on PS4, and the yellow ribbon goes to the xbone.

Should be this year or next, but not expecting it.

If Sony ended up presenting L4D3 for PS4, it would cap the full reversal of roles from last gen. Does that mean that Xbone is going to slowly claw its way back throughout the gen and eek out a worldwide lead?

It's impossible for the X1 to do that since it's global presence is incredibly weak. Outside of NA/UK, it's practically dead. Best MS can hope for, in my opinion, is parity in NA and UK, but that's about it. That should be enough to keep them in the game.

I think everyone is misunderstanding this.

Everyone is assuming the GI cover is a PlayStation-exclusive given that the magazine is being released after Sony's press conference.

It seems like McNamara is just presenting the possibilities (the tweet right before it makes it seem that way too), saying 'well maybe it's also an Xbox One game - maybe it's a Valve multiplatform game that they're presenting at Sony, thus being why we have to wait until after Sony's press conference to release the magazine.'

His tweet about Last Guardian for PS5 is a joke.

Where's the joke in "we have a feature about Valve who are also at the Sony conference."?

Crazy concept, I know, but no one at Valve felt like making a PS3 version. The only reason a PS3 version of Portal 2 existed is because a couple ex-ND Valve employees took initiative and thought they could handle it, which they did.

Shenmue was rumored for Playstation? I really doubt that would ever happen since the production costs of the series is enormous.

None whatsoever.

EA was the distributor of the console versions of L4D, L4D2, and Portal 2.

Ah, I see. I do remember Gabe making some pretty blunt comments in regards to PS3. With the PS4 being a lot more open and easy to develop for I could see them giving it a shot. Who knows though.

Nah, just me playing off the Cerny-stuff when he was translating an event about Shenmue.

lmao, both sides are guessing shenmue for their console, huh? This E3 should be great on both sides, though. Although I'm anticipating MS' more, too many rumors.

Really good couple of guys

If you read his entire string of tweets and don't see that he is obviously joking, you are a lost cause. I'm sorry.

It's starts with

"We will reveal our July cover this Thursday at 11 am central. However, it won't release until Monday night (after Sony's presser)"

That's not a joke.

Then he says (OP tweet) they have a feature on Valve who are at the Sony press conference.

There's a few jabs in between, but I don't think the "Editor-In-Chief of Game Informer" is joking about articles in their magazine.

I actually had a dream about this last night. Would make little sense for Sony, but it would still be pretty sweet.

If the PS4 would use Steam In-Home Streaming then I would go out and buy one right now.

Yeah I've been thinking about that quite a bit lately. If Sony would leverage the experience they've gained while developing Playstation Now (and with pretty solid results if what I'm hearing from people in the Beta is true) to develop/co-develop a Steam App for the PS4 it could be a boon for both companies, imo. I'd imagine you'd have to set some ground rules in terms of what could be streamed from one's library so you don't potentially sabotage sales of currently available and future games that'll appear on both platforms, but man oh man... even a limited partnership would be amazing...
