Valve presenting something at Sony's E3 show?

Maybe it is a Steam client for PS4 that allows cross-play for any game that supports it?
It doesn't seem too far-fetched, considering the PS4 is a decently powerful PC spec wise and much easier to develop for, unlike the PS3.

Came here to post this. Has McNamara graduated from high school ? Christ, and he's the boss at Game informer ?

It makes perfect sense, just read his previous tweets.

It started with this:

We will reveal our July cover this Thursday at 11 am central. However, it won't release until Monday night (after Sony's presser)
To this:
Let's just say we have information we can't share until after the press conference, if you want to believe it's a Sony game that's up to you
People presumably begin questioning why it won't be released until after Sony's conference and he responds with:
Perhaps, it's a game from a third party that is just showing it at the Sony press conference..or maybe, it's an indie game...chew on that =)
and the tweet in question
Maybe its an Xbox One game, but we have a feature on Valve that's presenting at Sony (I'm starting so many rumors with this one)

He was just throwing out random scenarios that could explain why they're waiting until after Sony's conference to release the issue.

So, it's not Half-Life 3. Not surprised or upset there. But being with Sony, this is probably going to be a client for the PS4 that will allow access to the in home streaming feature and possibly even a vice versa. Sony was ok with linking things with Portal 2, and perhaps seeing the success of Valve overall, Sony would have interest in pairing up. It seems a bit whacky-go-jacky to have to giants team up with their platforms in that sense, but who knows?

If it's not that, it's Left 4 Dead 3. If it's still not that, then perhaps Sony waved enough money or gave Valve enough interest to push out an exclusive IP.

Or they just say that the joke is on you and the PS4 is actually a Steam Machine

A few more mofo days and all this teasing and torture will be over.

HL3 PS4 console exclusive.

I don't know if a GAF would ever recover from that one.

If that was to happen some hardcore only X-1 fans in here will have to be on suicide watch 24-7

He is trolling.
Why do you like to do this to yourselves, people?

Because I mashed my balls in these new pants and it hurts as hell and I need something to distract me from the pain??

Or perhaps just because I want something to be excited for outside of Project Beast.
Or perhaps I'm just a plain old masochist.

A Steam Machine App that lets you stream games through your PS4-- games that can run and look great given the specs, games that don't conflict/compete with PS4 ports, etc.. would be a a bigger megaton than a TLG/HL3 reveal.

Watch it be exclusive PS4 content or access to it first on Playstation.

lol, no

getting past wether he's joking or not, Valve presenting something like L4D3 on stage on one of the conferences make sense, beyond whatever type deal they might have like they did with Steam on PS3 or whatever

1) they don't have their own conference so if they wanna go big on a reveal beyond the Steam market it makes sense to do this

2) L4D2 was revealed during a Microsoft E3 conference

3) L4D2 sold really, really well on consoles

they dont have to do anything to create hype on a PC environment, they're Valve. It makes sense to skip E3 in that sense and use it as a way to promote console versions and such

Its going to take a VR injection into the HL franchise for valve to consider making the next game...and considering valve is now making its own VR

Huh? Link to this.

Edit, oh you're talking about the prototype, there is nothing commercial confirmed and it's probably unlikely.

If the PS4 would use Steam In-Home Streaming then I would go out and buy one right now.

If, just IF, they announce PS4 is a Steam Machine and Half-Life 3 is console exclusive (timed). How much of a megaton would that be on a scale from 1-10? Would a theoretical announcement like this be enough to win E3 (or do some major, major damage)?

I really don't think this will be anything Half Life 3 related. The hype is so large for that title that I feel as if it would be almost impossible to live up to. Possibly a L4D reveal though.

didnt say they were making it for the market but they have a huge interest in it for the last year now, enough for them to be dedicating a lot of money and time into developing prototypes "to better understand it for implementation into games"

Yeah it seems more like they will support it from the software side, I am actually surprised they are still working on it after losing Abrash, thanks for the link.

Not necessarily. Half-Life 2 wasn't much more than a rumor prior to E3 2003, and I could see Valve being even more tight-lipped about HL3 due to what happened back then with HL2's source code leak.

Though yeah, I'd love L4D3 as well. If it's one of those I'll be happy.

I could be misremembering things, but didn't the alpha code leak out long before launch? Or was that just something that happened between announcement and launch?

I'd cum bricks if it were Portal 3 or Half-Life 3.

Probably going to be Left 4 Dead 3 if it's anything worthwhile at all.

Gabe announced Portal 2 at Sony's E3, so I wouldn't be surprised if Portal 3 is announced this year.

Anything about Valve would also be talking about the PC, and the poster was talking about only being on Console.

Console Exclusive implies that its only on one console but available on PC as well.

Exclusive implies its only going to be on *insert platform here*

It was the source code that leaked after the announcement. HL2 was originally announced to be released in 2003, but was delayed by over a year.

Left 4 Dead 3

Alternatively, console exclusive implies that it's only available on consoles and not available on PC, like Red Dead Redemption.
