Wake me up when this is ARM based.
Wake me up when this is ARM based.
why ARM?Wake me up when this is ARM based.
Sure, but are you prepared to pay for it?I want:
OLED screen. 8" screen. More compatible easy games. And more raw power, that's not too much, right?
Never buy the first iteration of tech.
that must of been a long wait till the ps2 and xbox 360 then
Because the Steam Deck is not very efficient, battery running for 1h on 3D heavy games, the noise levels are attrocious and the heat also is a turn off. It's cool gimmick, but not much more than that these days.why ARM?
Dude....that will be 3+ years. They haven't even shipped all of the current SD.Confirmed newer versions of Steam Deck. I'll be holding off for SD2
Battleborne, Battlerite, Battleye? The game isn't officially compatible with Linux / Proton, but people have gotten it running. Unfortunately BattleEye will flag you as a cheater and your account may get banned.
You can install Windows though and play it that way. Last I checked there's now Windows drivers for all of the hardware. It probably runs like garbage though. Windows = more overhead and none of the perks of Steam OS 3 and Proton (like shader precaching optimization, customizable refresh rand frame rate, GPU clocking and voltage limiting without third party tools, etc).
I wasn't wise back then and my reward for that was getting the red ring of death on my 360.

Personally I’m holding for SD4Confirmed newer versions of Steam Deck. I'll be holding off for SD2
When Playstation was announced I told myself not gonna buy until Playstation 10 is released. People who buy the first 9 iterations of tech are chumps.Personally I’m holding for SD4
Depends on the manufacturer. Valve hasn't let me down yet. The Deck is hands-down my favorite console of all time.Never buy the first iteration of tech.
That's how you never get a second one, incidentally.Never buy the first iteration of tech.
Yep. I’ve been holding off on one ever since it was first announced. Waiting for gen 2 for sureConfirmed newer versions of Steam Deck. I'll be holding off for SD2

Iphones sell too.if steam deck 2 comes out valve better lower the prices of the first one and keep the newer one at 400 minimum. the reason the steam deck is still popular and relevant over the other PC handhelds is because its so cheap. that isnt gonna work when they're constantly raising the price with each iteration
If everyone follows your logic the second iteration never arrives...Never buy the first iteration of tech.
I like my acronym
It won’t be. The deck lasts sub 2 hours playing AAA titles, Nintendo will never allow it. The company also doesn’t have the bandwidth to develop AAA games at the rate it is required.Considering that the next switch should be on par if not better than the current deck, I'm not really surprised.

Switch 2 will use only-less-ancient chip compared to totally-ancient-rubbish Tegra the OH switch is using now.
I can see this in a mini ITX case with newer version of the Steam Controller. They might as well do a steam deck TV, at this point....
ARM is very power efficient because it doesnt have the x86 compatibility baggage. The problem is that not much is written for it outside of Switch games.why ARM?
And now they're on Steam Deck.At least PS and Xbox had exclusive games. This is just yet another PC in yet another form factor.
And now they're on Steam Deck.
If you've used Deck you'd realize it's far from "just a PC". SteamOS on Deck is the best UI I've used. Really takes a dump on the PS5 and XSX UI, and the Steam and Performance buttons make accessing and tweaking settings and performance insanely fast.
