I also did a number of tweaks that I though I'd share in case anyone is interested.
1. Download Game off Steam
2. Download and install Unofficial Patch ver. 7.5 http://www.patches-scrolls.de/vampire_bloodlines.php
3. After installing the Unofficial Patch, navigate to the "Extras" folder and install the Resolution Patcher. (Others here may not like it, but it looks good to me).
4. Download and install the ENBSeries DX9 patch to enable better graphics options like HDR. http://enbdev.com/download_en.htm
You'll notice that if you leave the ENB settings at default, your game will grind to around 10 FPS...To rectify this, I copied the settings found at http://videogamegeek.com/thread/553575/unofficial-patches-fix-and-improve-game-to-excelle and applied them to my game.
It looks great now but there are some missing effects in the menus and cut scenes but the game itself looks ace. You can see before/after pics at the last link.

I see this game was released in 2004. That means my laptop can run it. I will scoops when I get home.

I had an error when exiting an area, even with the fan patch. Game would just freeze then crash. Kept throwing up a message about "vampire.dll" Tried with/without the huge fan patch, reinstalling, everything. Never could get past it. This was when I last played it in 2009 I think.

Fantastic game, can't believe it's on sale! I must've waited more than a year hoping to see it go on sale, and either I missed it or it just straight up didn't happen, but I purchased it full price and was very happy with my gameplay experience. Was very cool and found it really engrossing. Only problem I had/have with it is getting it running, I must've been 30-40 hours in (was adamant I wanted to do all sidequests and extras so I was going pretty slow) when I had laptop issues with it and couldn't launch it, since then I've formatted the computer so I'll have to start from scratch, on top of that, I could never run the game on a good graphical setting... it honest to god reminded me of N64 textures, I mean I couldn't even discern the melee symbol to be a hand/claw until I saw some beautiful screens in a LTTP thread. Despite all the issues I had (which I understand are pretty isolated to just me, my kinda luck) this is one of my favourite games I've played in the last year.

Love this game. Shame the guys who worked on it will never see any of the money from any DD sales. I preferred the characters from Redemption although there were some great ones in Bloodlines too.

Also may be it's overdone a bit, but it has some educative qualities at least. Gay people were those strange slutty looking guys from Pride parade to me until I watched this series.

Double dipping. Haven't played this since release so it should feel pretty fresh. And True Blood has gone downhill since season 1 and even that season has nothing on this game.

Playing it now. Tried ENB, looked like ass, back to Vanilla which I think looks pretty good. The community patches really help too.
Fucking love this game with all my heart. I would buy it again at full price if I had to. Can't believe people are so concerned with paying 20 bucks or whatever it is.
