Not really , the % difference in resolution between ps4 and x1 from 2013 stayed the same till 2020.
Yes, really. And I am referring to performance in conjuction with resolution when we see truly native titles. Way too many knee jerk reactionists.

What? And the Series X performed better with the RE Engine and Call Of Duty's in house engine when Gpu constrained.
So..all this result favoring PS5 despite Series X advantage really made me scratching my head.....
On paper..Series X seems to be better
Until it comes to this....
What is that?
Im not a tech expert guys..but PS5 have twice the numbers compared to Xbox Series X there...
Can someone explain?
Perhaps VFXVeteran ? The tech expert around here?
As soon as I read stuttering bug I was waiting for Hendrick's or Riky to be concerned about it.
I am not dissapointed.
So funny
Moving goalposts? When did crossgen launch titles become unimportant for performance comparisons? These are cross gen launch titles and aren’t pushing either system. This is nothing.
There are amazing next gen only titles right now for PS5 like DS, and many more will come before late next year. The true testing will start late next year when the first next gen only games start dropping.

I am just in awe of thepower
In that post that you quoted, where did it say close the thread and stop the comparison? But if you had understood what I meant, then you would have known that using these to declare anything is way off.Moving goalposts? Read the text under it. “our” is the keywordI am just in awe of thepower
If the game has framerate problems: [Riky] Oh it's ok, VRR babeeey . If it has any minor problem on PS5: EWwwww literally unplayable!!!!!As soon as I read stuttering bug I was waiting for Hendrick's or Riky to be concerned about it.
I am not dissapointed.

The PS5 power king thread was created only after it performed better in DF comparisons...I've made a lot of memes over in the PS5 power king thread, but I took all this kinda ironically and was honestly rather sure that Series X will be the more powerful console after all.
Guess I fell for the marketing. PS5 continues to be superior in high resolutions by quite a margin.
Good job Cerny, magic sauce cook.
Too bad it barely supports nextgen features like... nextgen games. And the ones it does, usually play better on PS5. But it's ok, one can't win everything.Xbox is the only true next gen console that supports next gen TV standards, VRR AND ALLM. That's just how it is.

No it doesn't. VRR doesn't up the resolution.Everything runs better on Xbox due to VRR, everything.
I wish channels would exclude the XSS from these comparisons. If you're buying that console, you don't care what the game looks like. Honestly, XSS just makes side-by-sides suffer more, and pads out some videos unnecessarily. If you bought an XSS, you've relegated yourself to 3rd place in visuals, and should be happy with whatever you get. I don't look forward to a full product cycle of having this bastard child thrown into every comparison video, for no good reason.

No, XSX doesn't look better on paper either, unless you don't understand the way those machines work. PS5 has custom hardware everywhere that Series X doesn't have. Things like unified L3 CPU cache are huge for latency in high framerate modes. This single factor is more important than CPU / GPU raw power for high framerate modes, hence why PS5 always wins in every game in 120 fps modes.
Variable frequency also gives you TONS more power than fixed frequency where you have to guess before releasing the hardware what the maximum workload will be and the heat it'll produce. You have to guess pretty low or you get a PS4 Pro jet engine. Variable frequency like on PS5 ensures you you get the absolute maximum from your GPU at any time.
And that's without talking about custom Geometry Engine which is a much more efficient solution than VRS. Or special I/O hardware, cache and cache scrubbers...
But people here see a number of Tetrafloops (TM) and think they understand nuclear theory. But it's in their heads. Time to stop gobbling up everything Phil Spencer says. Especially since it's marketing and MS has been lying for years on exclusives. Xbox fanboys got what they deserved here.

This is such goalpost moving. LolI'll take the smooth performance over any barely noticeable resolution drops, you need a tech channel to tell you about those. Frame rate drops and tearing which happen in basically every PS5 game is very noticeable and affects gameplay. VRR just solves it on Xbox giving the best experience at all times.
Darn it, I was drinking eggnog! Now it's all over my keyboard because of this post! Luckily I have a back up one till I get all the sticky off.Everything runs better on Xbox due to VRR, everything.
I would agree with you if both versions were affected, but PS5 seems to struggle less to deliver than XSX. But I can give you this, let's just wait a few months so the tools and optimization excuses cannot be used anymore. In that post that you quoted, where did it say close the thread and stop the comparison? I have both. A VRR tv and an XsX. VRR does indeed smooth things out, but it doesn't excuse a choppy game or make the experience better for those without said tvs.I'll take the smooth performance over any barely noticeable resolution drops, you need a tech channel to tell you about those. Yeap still everybody noticed the AC blurry image on Series X after the patch.I'll take the smooth performance over any barely noticeable resolution drops, you need a tech channel to tell you about those. So no, in my book, it doesn't count
Yeap still everybody noticed the AC blurry image on Series X after the patch.
The tools excuse is bullshit.I would agree with you if both versions were affected, but PS5 seems to struggle less to deliver than XSX. But I can give you this, let's just wait a few months so the tools and optimization excuses cannot be used anymore.
Everybody could see the AC blurry and image with the patch.Everybody could see the framerate drops and tearing on PS5, gameplay breaking problems.
Man, seeing these guys on meltdown mode is priceless after all the shit talk they were giving. Good times.
It's a feature on Xbox so it counts You have to pay to play, if you want the best console next gen experience you need an XSX and a VRR TV, thats the true next gen.
The only resolution found on PS5 in Quality Mode was 3840x2160.
Xbox Series X in Quality Mode uses a dynamic resolution with the highest native resolution found being 3840x2160 and the lowest native resolution found being approximately 3328x1872. Drops in resolution below 3840x2160 on Xbox Series X in Quality Mode seem to be uncommon.
PS5 is BEAST
I think it's good to know it doesn't even meet its initial 1080p machine target... MS just released yet another sub HD machine in 2020, this should be made clear throughout the generation as it could get worse over time.
Well, only when the framerate drops.Everything runs better on Xbox due to VRR, everything.
I love how VRR is the ultimate spec. Ignore that 95% of gamers can't use it and the PS5 will have it soon. But until then, it is the decider!
I feel bad for the people that bought the Series X thinking it would be their multiplat machine.
LMAO I knew this was coming.Everything runs better on Xbox due to VRR, everything.
Everybody could see the framerate drops and tearing on PS5, gameplay breaking problems.
You are playing on PS5? How freqeunt is the stutter? It's too bad. The game is actually great fun. Aside from the stuttering issue which hopefully gets patched, this is GOTY contender for me so far, granted I'm only 4 hours in.
So bugs are a valid excuse now?
No. This has nothing to do with SSD. This is simply using a much lower LOD setting. It's either a bug or a quick solution to a tanking framerate.
Not at all. Loses by 30% worse resolution and slightly lower average frames . Sorry bud
It isn't pushing the systems but they drop to 1080p (xbox) and 1200ish p (ps5)? Can you elaborate on your thought a bit? These are cross gen launch titles and aren’t pushing either system. This is nothing.
The true testing will start late next year when the first next gen only games start dropping.
The PS5 power king thread was created only after it performed better in DF comparisons...
Yes. It's pretty consistent while turning the camera, but I'm sort of getting used to it. Hopefully it gets patched though. I haven't tried the Series X version, so I don't know if it has the same issue without VRR (I do not have a VRR TV atm). You are playing on PS5? How freqeunt is the stutter?
