I think the first panel and last panel should be cut. We don't need the mom to explain that the turret is babysitting, and we don't need to see the baby actually die. Have the turret shooting panel for the punchline and only imply that the baby is being shot; leave the baby's fate ambiguous.

You VGCats defenders apparently are illiterate.

Fact: Very few people in this thread have complained about the violence or wrongness of having a baby die by turret.

I actually found the similar Penny Arcade strip quite amusing. This VGCats? Not so much...

Fact: The MAJORITY of complaints in this thread, as well as nearly every single other VGCats shop threads, is that the author has decent ideas, but fails at the execution.

The problem is not the joke. It's how the joke is told.

It is usually too drawn out (OMG! The Panels!!!), in which case it self destructs at its own pacing.

Or it is lacking subtlety, which would have made the joke far more interesting and clever. In this case, it's so straight forward, that the humor falls flat. It's dull.

I was hoping of a comic that consisted of the baby staring at the turret, then the baby's face is replaced with garfield, and then another of the same frame, and then the turret goes into kill mode. I'd do it, but my photoshop skills are nil.
