Vought Rising | First Look | The Boys Prequel

Here's hoping this is the same situation as the Game of Thrones franchise, shit final season, mediocre first spin off series, followed by a legitimately good 2nd spin off series that takes place long enough before the main show that you can ignore the disappointment that comes after.

Do you want to follow the earlier years of a character you know ends up on literal ice?
Do you ever watch historical films where you know the ending?

While I understand the complaint in theory, in practice this never was how I looked at any piece of entertainment. If the only value of the entertainment is "I don't know the ending yet" then it's probably not very good.

I'm guilty of sticking with TV shows that started to suck because "I wanted to see the ending" but that's really representative of how flawed the thinking is to me. I shouldn't care that I don't know the ending of a shitty show, I should stop watching it. Just like I shouldn't care TOO MUCH that I know how a character turns out far off in the future after a prequel.

It's not like we know the individual stories that are going to be told, there will be lots of characters we know nothing about, etc. Knowing the 2 mains survive and what happens to them 70 years into the future doesn't take away from that for me personally. It's so rare main characters die anyways.

Historical films are an extreme version of this. I know most of the details going into any given historical epic, that doesn't take away from the enjoyment of seeing what is put on screen.

They are trying to get the hype up and running again after the season finale disaster they pulled... im not going all the way in this time, will be more cautious

Trailer doesn't look bad, but I'm done with the Ip.
Just like GOT, Star Wars and a bunch of other stuff. If you let your mainline story go to shit and you don't give it a decent ending, I just won't really give a crap about your spinoffs, even if some of them are decent.

Yeah, that's where Season 5 budget went to

Funny how even the cinematography is leagues better than Season 5 of The Boys.

They invest in the first 2 seasons (sometimes only the first one) to get viewers, than as the series goes on, budget starts getting drained out until it ends up looking like a CW show

Looks interesting, but I doubt I will give them any views
