Hawaii’s Five-0 task force will be without its leader for a little while. Hawaii Five-0 star Alex O’Loughlin will miss at least one episode of the CBS crime drama for a stint in rehab. “Alex is taking a short break from Hawaii Five-0 to receive supervised treatment for prescription pain medication due to a recent shoulder injury,” a rep for the actor said in a statement.

The series, which is ahead of schedule, is now shooting episode 20, which coincidentally focuses heavily on Masi Oka’s character, and O’Loughlin didn’t have many scenes. After the episode wraps, the show will take a short break, after which production will proceed as planned, with Hawaii completing its 23-episode Season 2 order. “We respect and support Alex’s decision,” CBS Studios, which produces the series, said. “Everyone at CBS Television Studios and Hawaii Five-0 wishes him well and we look forward to his return.”

He has looked horrible in recent episodes like he has lost a lot of weight even for him.

Pretty good episode yesterday, did anyone watch it?

The "twist" at the end seemed obvious but it's confusing to think how things fit together.

Yeah, it was pretty awesome.

Something tells me that Wo-fat is Steves brother or something, that's why the mother didn't shoot him

Man, that'd be so fucked up. But yeah, good opener. Surprisingly dark too. Fuck, felt so bad for Chin. I wonder where he goes from here. Steve's girl (Katherine, right?) is looking so damn fine.

So can we agree the show officially jumped the shark now? Or rather, er, submerged the van?

I thought it was ridiculous how they went through all that trouble, only to get caught on the security camera at the marina.

Also, am I the only one who thinks the main villains in this show are pretty damn useless/weak??? Sure.. Wo Fat and Delano are ruthless killers, but when it comes down to a chase or a fight, they give in/get caught far too easily!

Delano's pathetic all the way through, but Wo Fat gives everyone a run for their own money and he does his own dirty work.

In this show, Hawaii is essentially hell on earth. Everyone knows this, right? Every week we're dealing with murderous psychos, terrorists, gun runners, hell, some are bordering on supervillains. The HPD is the most corrupt force in the land. Things blow up every week.

A couple of months ago I was driving past the mall and I saw William Baldwin in some ridiculous jump suit and I thought to my self "What is he doing in Hawaii?" I forgot he had a part in this show.

I don't know.. last season when McGarrett apprehended Wo Fat and were being tracked by the Yakuza on an island (after both survived a plane crash) there was this one firefight where Wo Fat saw an opportunity to use one henchmen's loose gun only to get caught immediately and continue being dragged around by McGarrett...It was jus pathetic, and maybe it's because I hate to see Mark Dacascos under utilized, knowing he's such a martial arts expert (fuckin LOVED him in Only The Strong).. also, how many times must they show him escaping? That confrontation with Joe White in his apartment was pretty weak, and we're led to believe he escape with barely a fight yet again in this last episode? (tho we know that's not what transpired). The only real challenges the Hawaii Five O team have to face are the difficult decisions they find themselves having to make, not so much the crimes bosses they have to deal with. :/

So...this is the one show that GAF doesn't watch, but the rest of america does?

Pretty decent episode to start the new season. I must say that I never felt that Chin/Malia relationship.

Kono and the Yakuza guy...that relationship looks genuine.

Yeah I started working on this show this season as a recordist on the mix stage.. Just mixed the 3rd episode last week and it was pretty well written, the one episode so far I could genuinely say I'd enjoy if I watched it on TV. I'm guessing it airs next week if the one this week is the one with Ed Asner.

Ed Asner's back!? Fuck, his was one of the best on this show. Loved the flashbacks of young Asner weaved through the narrative, plus he's like the one bad guy who got a clear win against everyone.

Love this show. But I can't watch tonight's episode till tomorrow.

And yeah this is the one with him in it.

Anyone still watching?
absolutely hated last season because of the mom thing.
wasn't planning on watching it after that but my DVR continued recording it this season.
I was bored to death the other day so I watched it, thank God the mom is gone.

also got kinda down on it because they were writing Kono off the show, yet she returned this season.

yet its actually pretty good again.

yeah, I got tired of the mom storyline as well I will try to catch this season, I wonder if the product placement is as bad as before .

I just watched the premiere. I need to catch up with the other episodes. How many have aired?

New season starts tonight.
Show is so damn weird, its kinda established itself as the absolute best show for watching just to watch something.
I let them build to about 3 or 4 episodes then just put them on my off days.

As long as the mom doesn't return I really just enjoy this for the actors and scenery.

Hated the show up until the start of season 4. Then they added the SWAT captain and he added a bit of "natural" acting to the show.

It's not good TV at all...but it's grown on me. About to start season 6 on netflix.

Great way to describe the show. Cause in many ways it's pretty shit.

The show is horrible. You may watch a few episodes if you like to gaze at the beautiful Hawaii backdrops, but that's about it (at least that's what I did). It's basically just like any other CBS procedural, only it's set in "paradise" and not in LA, NY or another popular American city.

Yeah, I watch it for the Hawaii scenery and to see the Lost actors that never left the island. It's not that bad of a show if you don't pay 100% attention.

They get some weird guest stars though, like Frankie Valli.

I used to love it. Now I know it's kinda shitty but I still love the actors/characters so it's my one cop drama. It's kinda like Las Vegas (the show) was for me, a Caan in it and all! I just have it on the second monitor and kinda half pay attention.

Can't stand all the brand pimping though. Chevy and Bing being the worst and most obvious.

I was wondering if someone just discovered it and it's a 2010 thread. lol

They also whore Microsoft products constantly, and it was part of a stable of CBS shows where they had to work "I'm Binging it" into the dialog.

Yeah, potato chips of TV. Did you see the Ironman ep?
