What do those enormous bodies eat to survive in a deserted place like this?
That's what this whole clip was about. They invade Azeroth because Draenor has become barren and lifeless.

I think you missed the point of my quote.
Avatar is still the CG bar. The Hobbit came afterward and looked like shit effects wise.
Just because ILM has knocked it out of the park before, them being the VFX studio behind Warcraft doesn't guarantee anything.
Sometimes it comes down to the vision, demands and pull of the men or women in charge.
Avatar hasn't been the bar for awhile. Dawn of the Planet of the Apes might be now or Interstellar, but definitely not Avatar.
Cautious optimism after watching it.
On one hand, they are about to head to Azeroth where hopefully we will see less CGI. I'd just like to see the human side of things. Tired of Blizzard forcing orcs down our throats.
Man good taste and your correct, I consider StarCraft to have a story interesting and entertaining when watched on a big screen. WarCraft's plot and story is played out by now.Things I like:
- Obviously based on the earlier stories which are pre-existing entities that were written before Metzen started whatever drugs he took when he was writing WoW stories.
- Obviously taking a "neither side are really the bad guys" approach.
- CGI is top tier and pretty much exactly how I'd want it. Is pretty much exactly how the orcs should look.
- It was unique since it was actually more like a scene from the film rather than a trailer made of different scenes.
Things I don't like:
- There wasn't any live action parts to give an inkling as to how the finished product might come close to looking.
- It's a Warcraft movie.
- It's not a Starcraft movie.
- Like seriously, they should have made a Starcraft movie.
Avatar hasn't been the bar for awhile. Dawn of the Planet of the Apes might be now or Interstellar, but definitely not Avatar.
I honestly can't tell if the CGI is good or bad from the footage. But as a fan of the series it looks just about how I'd imagine a Warcraft movie to look so I'm on board. Seeing Gul'dan was hype.
Agree to disagree. Also we weren't comparing Warcraft to Avatar just so you know. Its Avatar. Still is.Everything in that gif is CG. Warcraft won't come close.

Love how people are judging the quality of the CGI when the quality of the video itself is crap.

We now see a man flying a gryphon over the city, Stormwind. This is the humans of the Alliance. Montage of shots of the Alliance characters walking in on and around Stormwind, before we go back to the orcs, “We are not powerful enough to defeat them” one says to the other. “We could be,” the other responds. We see the baby orc and Durotan urges his wife, “Whatever happens.” She looks concerned. Then we see the baby Thrall floating down a river.
Dominic Cooper as King Llane Wrynn says “They’re beasts, they should be destroyed. If we do not unite to fight this enemy, we shall perish.”
There’s a shot reminiscent of Braveheart where the Alliance is running from the left side of the frame, it pans right and the orcs are running, and the smash into each other in the middle. That’s followed by a shot of a guy jumping off a cliff and jumping onto a Gryphon.
Then the battle cuts to a shot at an overhead angle like you’d recognize from the video game and you are watching one of the Warcraft strategy games in real life. Cut to title.
This movie really needed at least one big or semi-big Hollywood star. It feels like it could be so forgettable without one.
Don't worry, I can:
It's bad.
Arthas / WOTLK would make a sweet movie

I just want to see Stratholme in live-action. It would be pretty huge for average movie-goers who aren't familiar with the games and expect LOTR with bigger swords.
That was probably the most boring trailer for anything I've ever watched. It was cringe worthy to the extreme, they expect people to want to see this? I won't comment on the cg as you can't tell from the video, but the voice acting and just overal idea of this comes off as a strait to DVD film.
Absolutely.
And I also like the entire dynamic of Thrall/Arthas, the slave that becomes the saviour and the crown prince that becomes the betrayer.
ending spoilers for Warcraft in case people have no knowledge of the games
Hopefully we see a very young Arthas when Anduin comes pleading to Terenas for the formation of the Alliance of Lordaeron

It wasn't supposed to be seen by anyone except the hardcore fans at Comic-Con.
This is why companies are going to stop showing anything at these events.
In what do you base these opinions? Many say these exact same things but why?I dont think it looks bad, i like it actually, but this movie is geared towards the die hard fan, and i dont think the general public will like it
Sonyea movie is gonna bomb
Arthas / WOTLK would make a sweet movie
Yeah it looks like you extended videogame cinematics to a full movie length... will probably suck hard.
The concept worked for MarioMaybe they go through the portal and land in modern day New York and then they will find out what it really means... to be an American.
*crying eagle*
i think people are overestimating how much the warcraft ip is worth.
sure, young adult men who played WoW in their teens might go and see it. but their girlfriends and anybody who is old enough to scoff at video games won't.
Avatar hasn't been the bar for awhile. Dawn of the Planet of the Apes might be now or Interstellar, but definitely not Avatar.
Plenty of women play WoW.
