Warhammer 40K Universe v.s. Marvel Universe: Who Wins?

Again-

Is there anyone in the Marvel Universe who wants change? Who seeks Knowledge? Tzeentch exists. You do not remove him, you do not stop him, you do not wish him away. As long as people want change, he exists, and He will lead them to Him.

Is there war? Is there violence? Khorne exists.

Is there disease? Is there death? Nurgle exists.

Is there desire? Is there lust? Slaanesh exists.

That's a bit oversimplifying it. Khorne and papa Nurgle took several centuries at least to form and become sentient and the space elves galaxy wide empire having a gigantic BDSM orgy birthed Slaanesh (that broke spacetime for a cluster of systems).

I'm talking about post W40k/MU match up, where the Chaos Gods already exist. It's like if I were to say 'Well none of the omnipotent beings exist in the MU since it's back when it was just the XMen and Spider-Man.', that wouldn't make much sense. Once the Chaos Gods exist, they can latch onto the new universes sentient beings.

Mhm. Just making that background known for the other participants.

Tau. Orks. Nids. Necrons.

Chaos gods can only directly work on those races that have a specific attachment to the warp.
Those races are eldar and mon-keighs, who were tailor-made by the old ones to have that connection. Even then, there is the pariah gene.

Marvel entities, however, were (usually) created by the celestials.

Up to you to justify why they'd have this connection to the warp.

Going by Dawn of War, which isn't exactly rock solid in terms of fluff, both orks and tau can be touched by chaos, or psychic powers. Orks are just too stupid to give it any heed and the tau aren't psychic enough to interpret it as anything but static. Nids are a hivemind that's so huge that it fucks with the warp itself and the necrons were kinda made to destroy warp by destroying everything that fuels it (AFAIK, anyway, the I'm not up to date on necron fluff).

So it could be argued that the Warp would have influence on psychics and magicians, since it's common for your psykers head explode and a demon to crawl out of it.

But tbh, as previously mentioned, it's an exercise in futility. Marvel has stupidly powerful characters that can play around with reality like the Chaos Gods can play around with their domains in the Warp. No one in the 40k universe can warp (heh) the physical realm like that. The most powerful psyker is dying and in a comatose state and your run of the mill psykers can't do anything more impressive than some warp fuelled pyrotechnics. If he was still up and going, he could probably do some impressive shit, as Malcador plunged Titan (the moon) into the Warp momentarily and he burned to ashes after a short stint in Emps golden toilet from the energies coursing through him.

When you say touched, do you mean harmed? Because that, yeah. They most certainly can. Throw a psychic lance at an ork and it'll leave a nice, big hole.

No Chaos Orks, Tau or Nids, tho.

When it comes to blanks, i can't recall if DoW ever had them. For the scenario above, if the creature were able to sense the blank at all, even if the lance was thrown, it would dissolve before hitting him. Still perfectly killable by regular means, tho.

Give Draigo a couple more Matt Ward books and he'll probably be at the Emperor's level, tho. Shit be near marvel levels of broken. Also a "good" example of a psyker just chilling around in the warp without his head exploding.

The chaos commander (I think Eliphas) in one of the expansions to DoW1 tries to speak psychically to them. The Tau commander is just annoyed about the "static in his comms" while the ork goes "git oot of me head 'umie!".

... and lets not speak of Draigo. The chaos gods are probably just fucking with him, making him believe he accomplished those things.
I hope, anyway

AFAIK, anyway, the I'm not up to date on necron fluff).

apparently the Necrons aren't strictly evil but more of a neutral faction now, sort of like the Khemri in fantasy. They no longer serve the C'Tan or want to enslave and harvest all life, just reclaim their tomb worlds. They now have an ancient code of honor that compels them to warn the population of a planet of an imminent attack so they can surrender and submit or evacuate

they're getting soft

Superman wouldn't last a second in Chaos.

Knowing Marvel though they would just change the reality of their universe or some magical "ultimate tyranid negator" would come into existence or some bullshit. So Marvel.

No More Nids.

Gods, how did that ever get past the editors.

Necron fluff was always indirectly good because it filled up a lot of old backstory. We knew very little about the Old Ones until the necron popped, and that mess with the c'tan and necrontyr served as an excuse to fill up those areas.

Nowadays? Yeah, oooh, egyptian terminator army! Not very interesting. Needed some improvement.

Then again, nids are mad simple. "we eat.".

The best part of the nids is the speculation why they're coming over. Did they eat their previous galaxy.. or are they fleeing something even worse? Neither option is any good for our galaxy.
