Wasteland 2: Director's Cut |OT| Post-Apocalyptic, Post-Release Remix

Yes, the companion bug affects everyone.

I know they fixed the companion perks bug internally. I don't know/remember if they fixed the disappearing companion bug.

And as usual, we don't have an ETA. However, they implied that the PC version should get the update sooner that the console version.

I don't have an ETA. We have internal date estimates for when we want to submit them on consoles for certification, but the PC may not follow the same timeline. There are different needs and fixes between platforms.

Since I couldn't get passed the
turrets
at the prison I went on, did most of the
Mad Monks/DBM quest-line (still need to go to silo 7), reached Damonta, killed Tinker, got a Tank Tread
, went back to the Prison,
installed it into the robot facing those turrets
and... nothing.
The robot doesn't give me the organic/inorganic option, just some "please try again later" message
and I never got an option for
some sort of dog plague cure mentioned in walkthroughs.

I hate having unresolved quest-lines in RPGs. :(

Did you kill every foreman back at the farm? I got the trigger for the dogs after doing that then exiting and re-entering the map, then going to the farm again. Then you gotta talk to the intercom.

No idea why the tankt hread didnt proc the robot event tho. Its unrelated to the dog thing. Also the best xp option by far, and unlocks one of the most interesting firefights in the game.

Alas, my rangers are goody two shoes.

Can I just say, that was the stupidest, most poorly implemented quest in the entire game. When I finally got to the one (one) place where you can get that item I'd already cleared that base hours ago. Why the fuck the repairs aren't a choice of a) the quest item or b) a high level skill check I don't know.

Ok, I'll bite. What's yours? :P

Rail Nomads, resolution to Darwin, neutral resolution to MAD Monks vs Mercs. Heck, even Highpool has a bit that makes no sense whatsoever where you'll miss Vulture's Cry if you free her before getting her to commit to becoming an ally, and you can't even proc the conversation unless you force your talker dude to hug the cell.

The Red Scorpion farms are par for the course.

But i've only seen a bit more than half of the game. Pretty sure that more smh stuff will pop up.

Yeah, killed everyone and didn't get the cure option at all; not then, not now. Tried to re-install the thread to no avail too. It's bugged. :(

EDIT: Turns out I had to finish the whole
nuclear warhead quest-line
(or come back to the west side of map after visiting Damonta, dunno) after which I could deal with Red Skorpions (either peacefully or violently). False alarm.

These are all really infuriating - for Darwin, you could only really do it by
somehow *knowing* which direction has the zombies and which doesn't, passing all the skill checks which are likely obscenely hard by the time you're there (I was lv12 and had a 21% chance at one point), passing the dumb turret fight... or I guess running past all the zombies as they attack you which isn't likely to work, the game might actually crash given how slow normal combat is
.

Re: neutral resolution for the canyon, another really dumb one.
the one path where you actually get rid of the nuke entirely makes the entire canyon go to hell because the mad monks accidentally let slip their nuke doesn't exist in one radio broadcast? Seems entirely preventable. There should be a way to 1) disable nuke and 2) embolden a moderate faction in the mad monks to bring some sanity to the place

Honestly, the best solution in terms of saving time when it comes to Darwin is
killing all of the zombified mutants. Nothing negative really happens if you kill all of them after they turn hostile when they see you. The mutant leader, Jan, will say something along the lines of "oh, you killed them, I guess that's understandable because they were zombies or whatever." You can rush to the purifier to turn them all back into normal friendly mutants, but that takes far longer to do.

I'm sorta fine with Darwin's paths. What annoys me is Pizepi being a bugged spawn for more than a freaking year.

Also, having explored more of California, all the lvl10+ safes and locks really drive home how shite having a dice roll on those skills is. Ends up becoming a "you better get ready to quickload, m'fucka!" system. Add the often random loot (BUT NOT ALWAYS! HOHOHO!) and it's just... bad. They don't have dice rolls for the ass skills, no idea why they kept it for the rest of the OOC skill checks. Plus having a punishment for critical failure, but no reward whatsoever but YOU FINISHED 3 SECONDS FASTER!!! in the case of critical successes is bad design.

Also also, it is bullshit that you can't quit a convo with goodbye or click in ANY OTHER CONVO OPTIOn when an ass option comes up, otherwise it disappears. All it means is that you gotta quicksave before talking to npcs. Sigh.

Like, dudes, it's 2015. Don't be archaic for the sake of being archaic.

Is there a way to get to Damonta without
letting that guy in jai go free or without liking to him that you will
? I tried just using the
suit I could buy but I guess radiation level 2 rated suit isn't enough to get through the 4 level radiation? And I can't find a spot on the radiation wall that lets up. It was on the northeast side of the prison that I gets thin, right?

I'm pretty sure he's the only one who can get you that rad suit.
Jailer will let you "borrow" him but I'm not sure if you can successfuly bring him back.
No biggie if you don't.

Yeah. I just wanted to play an honorable ranger that doesn't let out prisoners without getting approval or lieing to the guy and bringing him back (supposedly you can).

Alright... I keep getting my ass kick'd with this game. Wich is a good thing I guess. I keep running out of ammo AND medikits. Its bad, real bad.

Also, I'm not sure I'm doing the right thing with my custom squad.. Any hints?

There was a video linked a page or two back that does a good overview of what you're looking for in a squad. I retooled a squad based on that and am having a much easier time.

If memory serves, one of the answer is that "we'll see", then you can just go with him to his RV, and upon arriving there, telling him to stick around for a bit. Then you'll get the reason not to let him go. You'll run into his brother in Damonta, but there's no real consequence.

I feel like I've found/finished all the quests at Highpool but I still can't call a vote. Is there something later in the game I need to complete before I can do so?

Shot in the dark here, but have you
healed the sick dudes in the infirmary or whatever
? People often miss that one.

Ah crap, i didnt follow it. Could you spoil what would happen?

Turtle takes you to buried treasure. If I remember correctly it was pretty decent, but not amaze-balls.
You didn't miss anything huge. I wonder if you could go back if you had already flipped the turtle.

The loot is always in that spot with or without the turtle. The turtle just makes a nice guide.

So yet another example of being rewarded for not buying a game day one. Great stuff game developers, the Internet really killed your desire to launch perfect games.

Please show me one CRPG that has ever been released without at least one major glitch.

Personally, I'm scared off for two reasons (PS4)

- Memory seems to be causing crashes
- Companion bug

The first speaks for itself, the second is a biggie personally since it potentially takes away content in the form of party characters.

Not many CRPGS are bug-free, but not all bugs are equal.

To be fair, this is a re-release, and having something being touted as a DC with this level of quality..... eh.

Dragonfall DC certainly is far more polished, but then, harebrained schemes appears to have a more realistic view of their talents.

Honestly, from what I've seen, I wouldn't recommend buying the game on consoles at all because of the terrible performance and overall lag. Frankly, buy it on PC (once the DC is patched), but avoid the console version like plague (unless they manage to significantly improve the performance).

Yep, I'm waiting on that first patch on PC / PS4 and will decide from there.

It's bordering on a remake actually. It's a new engine with a lot of changes. Plus they had to port it to two consoles at the same time.

Shadowrun Dragonfall DC is basically the third game with the same engine. More or less. It is more polished, no doubt.

Well, I'm glad I bought it on console cause I'm not even sure my Mac would play it. Most likely even if it did, my Mac wouldn't be much better (integrated graphics chip and from what I can tell it may not even meet min requiremens).

Yeah, it's definitely not running smooth (and if I notice that, it's bad cause I'm pretty forgiving of that. I can list the games I didn't mind that other people went off about how bad they were). But it's better than nothing and at least in general it's not a game that that will mess you up when you are trying to do something.

Funny I played PS4 for a few hours now and haven't seen any lag or poor performance

I have a few hours in on the Xbone version and have had no performance issues or lag either.

I seem to be stuck in the AG Center.

I have found the serum for Kathy. I cleared out the Mushroom Cave and saved most of the people. But I cannot go through the West fields (or through the East tunnel) as both sides are blocked, and I don't have a sharp blade or any dynamite to make my way through

I'm thinking about converting one of my snipers to an energy weapons user. Are they any good? I already have two snipers which is a major ammo drain.

Id like to know this too

Energy weapons are...not as good as they were in the original.

They're useful against enemies with a metallic 'shell', such as robots or raiders wearing metal armor, which don't start appearing en masse for a while

That being said, there are perks which can increase damage against the 'non-supereffective' enemies, and eventually, having a key user will be helpful, so transitioning away from two snipers is not a bad idea.

Also the only energy weapon really worth a damn can only be gotten via
grabbing an item inside a toaster inside the Mad Monk base,
so if you missed on that? subpar city.

Well, I just realised I won't be able to finish the game. It's just too difficult on Ranger difficulty with my playstyle. I decided to only play with the 4 rangers I made myself and I'm too far into the game to change that now.

It's the
ambush at the farm later against the citadel guys. In the old wasteland you just had to remove your armor to make it beatable, but in DC they have sharpshooters too. They bypass even an armor rating of 10 doing around 300 damage per shot. Then there's the axemen who'll do 350-400 damage per turn and on top of that the energy weapons guys. I basically get one-shot. They all have enough hp to withstand even the best rocket launchers too.

I think it will be impossible even if I grind to level up 10 levels. Currently at 31-34 lvl. Quite frankly I don't see how it can me done even with 6 rangers.

If you got advice please share them.

You could lower the difficulty.

You could lower the difficulty.

I've gotten this far and honestly it feels wrong. I almost feel like stopping playing would be preferable. Silly I know but, I really really don't want to lower the difficulty. It's not even the hardest difficulty. I wonder how it's even remotely possible on hardest.
