Wait, what? What does it say? spoiler me!keanerie said:I like the way it looks as a movie, as an admirer of the book I do agree with the people saying it's a bit too stylized. So, from what I'm seeing I think it's looking good as a flick and okay as an adaptation. Also, however's playing Ozymandias looks waaay too wimpy - as I recall he was pretty set, enough to make him look as powerful physically as he was intellectually - but maybe his performance will make up for that.
And I also just read the Entertainment Weekly feature, and it does sound like they've changed the ending.
did you find it in the store? just download it and it's yours.Gattsu25 said:Ahh, you can't save it?

Dan said:Oh, and can we all agree not to use the term graphic novel? It's such a bullshit, arbitrary and cynically make-believe distinction.

seriously, does no one know about this? it's a completely animated and orchestral scored play of the first comic. it's really nice.

I had never read a comic book/graphic novel in my life, outside of collecting some shit ones as a little kid, before I read through about 1/3 of Watchmen at a local B&N (I only didn't buy it because they didn't have the Absolute edition -- which I just bought a hour or so ago). It's fucking great. I recommend just popping into a book store and reading it for a while. If you aren't sucked in after a chapter or two, then comic books REALLY aren't for you.Solo said:Not a reader of comics/graphic novels. Ive tried once or twice, but they just dont jive with me. Funny in a way, since I enjoy the hell out of a fair number of movies whose source material is a one (Oldboy, Batman Begins, Spider-Man 2, Sin City, etc.). But as for reading the source material itself, forget it.

EW said:Sure, there have been changes. The catastrophic climax is different. Provocative bits, like a timely subplot about alternative fuels, have been added. And a pirate/horror comic book that was thread ironically through the comic is set to become a separate animated dvd.
I should put that on my to-read list.Solo said:The only one I think Ive read the full way through was The Dark Knight Returns, and that was mostly because it was so batshit insane that it was fun. Geriatric Batman FTW.
Mac the KNife said:I think it looks pretty damn good. I can't believe they were able to (presumably) fit so much shit into one movie. It's gotta be 3 hours long.
But how pissed must Alan Moore be, eh? :lol
I'm pretty sure I heard rumors of an even-longer director's cut for the DVD/Blu-ray.keanerie said:According to Entertainment Weekly, the cut Snyder has is about 3 hours - and he's trying to cut it down to 2.5.

It also pisses off comic fanboys which is always a plus in my book.
I agree with this assessment.White Man said:This is awesome.
This. There is a lot of visual flair, but it looks so overdone. I really don't like the effects style... at all.Solo said:As someone who has never read the comic (and never will), it looks.... weird. And unintentionally funny at times.
Yeah... it's kind of a middle finger to the gritty movement DKR helped spawn.Solo said:Miller did a second one?
