Truant said:Did anyone catch the screencap that supposedly showed aor something in NYC? It was hidden in one of the trailers/featurettes. It disappeared right after I saw it on IMDB.tentacle
Strange.
hokahey said:Plus, the footage showing John and Laurie kissing while thebehind them looks kind of thrown together.bomb goes off
The Question Mark said:Wasn't that a dream sequence?
hokahey said:Not sure. I've read the book a few times, last time a few months ago. I don't really remember what you're referencing.
I hope so, because some people are pointing to it as evidence of the changed ending.
sionyboy said:You sure you don't mean Dan and Laurie kissing? Because that is from a dream sequence in the comic.

You'd think there would be enough else going to focus on and that would get fucking cut.
smokeymicpot said:That trailer got me a little happier after it might be rumored to delayed possibly. Glad to see a new trailer that was a good surprise.
StoOgE said:well, Paramount has the international rights. So maybe the legal problems are only regarding the US distribution?
Maybe we can sneak in Japanese BluRays with English language options later?

Timbuktu said:OT, but having just seen a bit of The Incredibles on TV again, I have to say that Brad Bird/ Pixar might do a better job if they did a straight adaptation of The Watchmen. Since I don't think The Dark Knight's gritty and realist style can be outdone, I imagined it with The Incredibles' aesthetics with a much darker theme and I'm not sure if it would be more effective. They could even keep the ending. I'm still worried that the acting might make difficult to take this too seriously.
Tabris said:I wonder if the movie will have the following scenes that would just be weird without them but will definitely make the movie 18A or be akward on film:
Dr.Manhatten not wearing clothes
The scene where the dog is eating the girl's bones and Rorsasch snaps
The impotent scene
Jack Scofield said:Wait, did the Comedian assassinate Kennedy? I don't even remember there being an allusion to this. I remember a reference to Bernstein and Woodward regarding Watergate, but nothing about JFK.
Huh.
Blader5489 said:The movie is over 2 and a half hours long. The only thing from the comic that's being cut are the Tales of the Black Freighter scenes, and those are being put back in for the DVD.

Did Snyder and co. just made that up?
Truant said:No, it's in the novel, but it's kinda hard to spot the first time around.

I'm concerned though. Adding that flashback might make the Comedian too much of a sympathetic character.
In all seriousness, I don't understand how Alan Moore made this man identifiable and sympathetic, let alone human. The Comedian was such a vile piece of shit and yet at many points likable.
