Waypoint: Inside the Sexual Misconduct Allegations Rocking NeoGAF's Last 48 Hours

Later having sex doesn't "cancel" or "undo" what previously happened.
It speaks to the actual severity of what happened to those who are trying to come to their own conclusions. To pretend it has no bearing is kinda disingenuous.
The behavior of the administrator both on and off site.
Fair enough(seriously good answer!)next question.. what are you trying to achieve with this protest?

You can do this while waiting for proper context and investigation though, grabbing pitchforks is just as stupid as assuming the victim is lying. Some victims lie, many don't, but when dealing with 2 sides you should always demand both before judgement and never earlier.

Stats show 2 sides not even in these cases. Also response not ideal. History problematic.

It's not a judgement in a vacuum

You know a man can be charged of raping his own wife, right? Even AFTER they've had consensual sex? The "severity" is the act, not what happened afterward.

Did you just throw a strawman into the conversation?..thats..thats not even the same thing. Especially in this situation the fact they hooked up later does not excuse it but definitely brings aspects i to question.

People may see different sides of that, is posting nudes the gateway drug to asscheek grabbing? I think they're isolated but I can see the other side of that.

"Ass grab without consent" implies a lack of respect.

"Posting nudes of someone without consent" implies a lack of respect.

A lack of respect for consent appears to be a consistent theme.

It's really annoying when people on the Internet act like they don't know what an analogy is when someone is trying to make an obvious point.

They're not married and she didn't accuse him of rape?? No kidding.

And no, nothing is "brought into question." I'm not thinking, "Well maybe she did actually want it back then."

It's relevant to me that she told him no and he respected her decision. He didn't complain, whine, threaten or coerce. He didn't insult her or try to change her mind. As far as I know, he did not touch her. He got his ass out of the shower and left her alone.
Nobody has told us what happened after she said no. We suppose he just accepted it and left her alone, but we don’t know.

He said about what happened in the shower that it was “harmonious and consensual”, whatever the f**k that means.

We're talking about a situation that happened BEFORE two people became an item, you're talking about actual rape within a marriage. I get what you're trying to say but it's a very poor analogy dude.

That’s not what strawman means. The point is the alleged shower incident stands on its own. Her having sex with him later doesn’t affect how suspect that was or wasn’t.

Pointing out the truth of one's behavior is not necessarily a personal "attack." If you are a rape apologist then that's the truth. Where should the conversation go after you've perpetuated rape culture and become an apologist to non consensual sexual acts? Well, it should probably go to that person thinking long and hard exactly why and perhaps gaining some newfound empathy for those that are victims of non-consensual sexual acts.
It's not the truth. It's a dishonest and offensive character attack designed to shut down disagreement after your initial argument failed to persuade. You couldn't really believe that calling someone a fucking rape apologist is a way to influence people or win hearts and minds.

why are people throwing the word rape around.

seriously, there are some stupid people on this earth. that's all im reading. rape, paedophiler!!!!!

the accusation IS NOT RAPE! nor being a paedophile. fuck!

I can't find a way to say that analogy was terrible and made everything sound a lot worse than it was. I felt like its purpose was just to bring the word rape into the discussion.

That’s nice. But your argument that them having consensual sex later somehow affects what he allegedly did (assuming you don’t think she’s just lying about it) is still terrible.

Don't bother with RDramaQueen. He's been posting non stop on site that is owned by what he characterizes as a sexual assailant and filled with circle jerking rape apologist posters. Why, who knows. He's prolly the type of person who likes to stealth fart in crowded elevators just to annoy people.

You have it backwards too. What is it with people shifting time to force a point?

The fuck are you talking about. The consensual sex you think is so important happened after the shower incident.
You yourself said “hooked up later” for fuck’s sake.

The shower thing sounds like an akward situation / awkward mistake that got worse. But at the same time, she was vomiting and decided to take a shower, so it should've been obvious that nothing was going to happen at that point.

If you go to a hotel with someone and you're pass-out drunk, I don't think the whole plan would be to play drunk Uno on the hotel bed or something.

I've already made my point. Consensual sex does not erase a past act of sexual misconduct. The "rape within a marriage" analogy was just to make the point that much clearer, but of course, you're focusing on the details of the analogy rather than the parallels (and I'm definitely not wasting time explaining it because anyone else who reads it will get it).

If I said "gave his friend a wedgie" instead of "raped his wife," would that have been better for you?

If I recall, she said that he acted butthurt for the remainder of the trip. Nothing was said about the immediate aftermath of the shower incident, it's fair to believe it was over after she shut him down.

You’re the one who said that the hookup made you question some aspects of the shower incident. I realize you’ve been here fewer than 30 days but try not to post like that’s how long you’ve been alive as well.

Don't see it as bad as everyone is making it out to be.

They were drinking.
She went to shower.
He drunkenly gets naked and enters said shower.

She gets mad and asks him to GTFO.
He does.
.....
They eventually have sex.

And everyone freaks out and all of a sudden neogaf is some terribly disgusting evil website that no body wants to be a part of.

Maybe I'm really misunderstanding something here but I don't see why this should tear this community apart.

I've been coming here for over 10 years on a daily basis. My home page for my cell phone is GAF. Hate the thought of not being able to browse this site.
this is where I'm at with this.

If someone robbed me, I wouldn't invite them back to my house and give them my bank pin.

I might be missing something as well though. (ill have to read up more)

Then why bend time and space to say I'm making a point I never made? You basically quoted me here but you wholesale made shit up in your other post. You've been a member long enough to not treat someonea jr status as being a lower class citizen. Get over yourself.

Ok, well, it’s good to see you concede your blathering about the hookup had no point. There’s hope for you yet!

I thought that you were being excessively specific when you said he accepted it, he didn’t whine, for all you know he didn’t touch her... we don’t know any of that.

We know Tyler acknowledges something consensual and harmonious happened in the shower. While she says nothing happened in the shower, and whatever happened (him showing up naked) was not consensual nor harmonious.

I am actually rather surprised to see that the concept of "appearing naked unbidden in front of someone feeling sick in the bathroom" is treated as "not a big deal" to some in here, regardless whether it's true or not about Evilore and the lady.

Just, the whole concept itself being treated as not a big deal is surprising for me to see.

This is basically the important part. We're all sorry this happened and no-one wanted the owner to do this shit, but when the site presents itself, and prides on, the attitude of respect for people of all kinds and then the figurehead shits on all that by not just the act but the ridiculous responses afterwards the community itself can't stay with that person there. I wish he had sold GAF years ago; he could have stepped away and we could continue.

But please don't confuse being sad about GAF imploding with talking down the incident to nothing; it won't being GAF back to what it was.

Also, people need to understand that non-consensual sexual encounters are more complex for the victim than you think-they usually involve people you know and respect. It's not as cut-and-dry as a burglary by a stranger, as someone tried to compare it to.

Its not to say that its no big deal, it is a big deal to her and him whatever went down, but they moved on and everyone is piling on as if he jumped in her guts without warning.

This is something new?

Ultimately it's words against words.

We do know evilore backed off, there was no rape or anything sinister, just 2 drunken adults.

Don't get this uproar...i mean if evilore was involved in Amirox kinda of crap, i definitely support the boycott.

Being naked in front of someone isn't a sexual act. If that was the case, the entire locker room of people getting naked in front of one another would be committing sexual acts.
.

Try walking naked into the womens changing rooms and watch yourself get on the Sex Offenders list for a couple of years pal.

Fucking hell, the mental gymnastics of the New NeoGaf are astounding.

Are we? Maybe people are just fed up the EL has yet again dragged the whole forum into the gutter, has yet again been involved in something that shows remarkable bad judgement and as a reaction has destroyed the community that they loved.

Speaking of mental gymnastics how are you comparing this to exposing yourself to strangers in public. I've changed in front of plenty of friends before and whew! No charges yet /s. The obvious Crux is what's agreed on.

One the one hand, you walk into a public changing area behind a woman you have never met , with your ding a ling flapping in the wind ..the woman screams and the popo take you away.

On the other hand you're in a hotel room with a woman you've been drinking and flirting with all night and you walk into the shower with your ding a ling flapping in the mist. she yells "get the fuck out dude!" you turn around and run back into the room and everything is awkward for the rest of the trip.

Exactly the same thing.

Agree with this 100%. Walking in naked into a shower while another person is in there an also naked is definitely a sexual act.

The Amirox incident is also extremely upsetting. Not condemning child pornography in the harshest terms is unacceptable.

waypoint article said:
Malka's statement on Amir0x can be read in full here, which claims nobody knew Amir0x's real name, an explanation for why it took so long for the board to make an official statement on him. One moderator called that claim "patently false" and "the users knew it was crap."

The link to "Malka's statement on Amir0x can be read in full here" is not working. What exactly did this Malka person say?,

From the article in the OP:
As for the incident described by Leupp, Malka called it "totally harmonious and consensual."

Yeah if case is brought to courts, the judges will probably throw out the charges.

Somehow gaf sees the girl as some young naive innocent party being sexually groomed by the evil one and got physically assaulted that night

All bs aside there's a subset of grown men that think this about every woman. The very idea of them ever being sexual upsets them. Thats why the loli thing is such a hit with some in the dark corners of anime. Its creepy as fuck.

Regardless of the truth of the very specific shower part of the allegation, I think the examples of past behavior that have been passed around openly, and even more importantly, the response and actions since Saturday and the re-opening of the site should be more than enough for people to make some kind of character judgment.
