Uhhhh... I was under the impression the cut-scenes were hand-animated 2D, not cg. At least all the cutscenes and video I've seen has been 2D not cg. Other than the overal Ghibli aesthetic that's one of the biggest reasons everyone is so hyped about Ghibli's involvement.Gorgon said:It's not a port, people. It's not like they'll just hit the compiler button and get a PS3 version. It's a different version. Some of the cut-scenes may be the same CGI used for the DS version (with better IQ of course), but most probably the gameworld will be 3D and not 2D, independently of what perspective they'll use on the PS3 version. I doubt they'll recreate all the cutscenes in-game, so those will remain CGI like in DS for the most part. At least this is what I think they'll do.

Maybe it's on early development stage, or they don't have plans for a worldwide release at all.jiggle said:they couldn't have shown this at the e3 conference, relaly sony?

The game was never announced for the Wii and the DS version still exists, so you can buy it on a Nintendo platform.

If they do it, then I see Sony handling the localization and publishing outside Japan.duckroll said:I can totally see Level 5 making it a Move-only game.
Hino posted the special artwork at his Twitter account yesterday. He wrote, "Tomorrow is the Ni no Kuni press conference. Sunday is the Inazuma Eleven Fan Appreciation Festival. It looks like it will be a busy week. I've changed my face visual to the Inazuma version."
The Ni no Kuni press conference he's referring to will be held at 13:00 local time today (6/24). I have no idea what will be shown, but I imagine the just-announced PS3 version of the game will get some time.
As for the Inazuma Eleven event, this is being held at the Tokyo International Forum on Sunday (6/27) in commemoration of Inazuma Eleven 3's July 1 release.
The event site doesn't promise any new Inazuma Eleven series news. It does, however, promise the latest info on PSP's long-awaited Danbol Senki.
Part of me thought it'd be cool, but seeing the scans, fuck that, 3D real time environments that look that good? Too awesome.u_neek said:Am I the only one secretly hoping that the PS3 version will have pre-rendered backgrounds?
I'd love to see it, simply because it might mean that Ghibli would be providing the backgrounds personally. However I think Level 5 are good enough to portray a designated style properly (see Toriyama - Dragon Quest).u_neek said:Am I the only one secretly hoping that the PS3 version will have pre-rendered backgrounds?

Though I don't know if I'll hold out hope for it to be localised...

This is true, Sony is pitching move to appeal to both the casuals as well as the hardcore. A Studio Ghibli title would bring plenty of core gamers in the West to PSmove, regardless of if it's optional or not.Gorgon said:Sony needs all the help they can get to promote Move. You can bet it will.
In the west? Why would people care? I don't think Ghibli's movies, or Level-5's console games are very popular. In Japan I could see it selling moves, but outside of that, if it's optional, I really don't see it.DevilWillcry said:This is true, Sony is pitching move to appeal to both the casuals as well as the hardcore. Gorgon said:Huh, it's already confirmed to support SOCOM 4, Heavy Rain, Dead Space Extraction, PAIN, Tiger Woods PGA TOUR, Resident Evil 5 Gold Edition, Time Crisis: Razing Storm, NBA 2K11, R.U.S.E., Tron Evolution and Killzone 3, so I don't know where you got that idea from.

Yeah they aren't massive in general in the West. But weaboos love studio Ghibli as much as they love Final Fantasy (it's some of the most mainstream anime in the West thanks to Disney), so there is a solid niche for them here. It's likelier to sell in the West than some of the obscure stuff Atlus or NIS bring over. Having the option for Move is just going to show how much better it is than DS3 for this type of game. But you're right, I expect it to get the bulk of its sales in JPN. But I think it will have more appeal in the West than Persona or Disgaea thanks to the Studio Ghibli movies already being established here.StuBurns said:In the west? Why would people care? Oh, I believe I misread your post, I thought you meant it'd sell Moves, not copies of the game. I do think the game will do well in the West, 500k maybe, I consider that good for the genre anyway. I don't think it's going to push the move though, even if the game is better with it.DevilWillcry said:Yeah they aren't massive in general in the West.
