The kinds of games people are thinking must be announced at E3 to save the Vita have little to no presence in the West. Why waste valuable presser time on MH and Persona that will sell like shit in the west? Will there be Japanese game at E3? Sure. But it likely won't be the kind that people think Vita needs to save itself in Japan.

Sony could, you know, attempt to make MH a thing in the west. In fact, if they did maybe we wouldn't be in this situation. MHFU did like 450k in the west based on Capcom's janky marketing.

I was hoping for PSOne support. Sony is taking its god damn sweet time to get it working on the Vita. I want to replay my Castlevania SotN and R-Type Delta on this screen!

Go to AndriaSang and check. There was a bunch of stuff that GAF doesn't care about.
Was this where they were supposed to announce 9 new games?

And Gundam SEED BD for Vita? Pretty sure there's enough SEED games already. =\

Is that it? It's over? I was hoping to wake up to a flood of awesome new game announcements. Oh well, there's always E3. Maybe i was being a bit too greedy. Vita did have one of the most solid release lineups ever and I already have enough games to keep me busy for a long time.

Vita needs more Japanese games. But my western ass is satisfied through May. Especially if a few underpublicized PSN games creep up.

What im not doing is throwing my toys out of the pram because I wanted or expected Sony to do things they didn't. They never said this event was their last attempt to "save" Japan. They never pinned the whole success of the Vita on this event. If people think this should have been that, that's their problem.

Certainly it's wrong to pin the entire success of Vita on this event, you're correct there; however, as I indicated above: They do need to announce some games at *some* point. This could have been that point. It wasn't.

How much further can they go into the year without announcing new titles for Japan due before Christmas? Vita's going to drop below 10k next week, and there's no real sign of levelling off yet. My belief is that waiting until TGS is going to be leaving things far too late, and E3 is unlikely to cater to the Japanese audience.

Developers are going to be looking at the Vita and wondering if they have the confidence that it'll have the audience they need for their product. It's Sony's job to instil that confidence in them.

Untitled Keiji Inafune Game

Phantasy Star Online 2
Untitled Super Robot Wars Game

What was the other 3?

Hmm, I didn't know it was a slur. I didn't post it with the intention of offending. I tought it was a meme or something like that.

It'll sound like an excuse though, so I'll not prolong this.

Are you not a native speaker? That word is an insanely derogatory term that gets thrown at homosexuals.

SRW Vita is neat but I'm guessing it won't be out for a long time.

I guess my import money is safe for now.

He said he has a game in development for Vita. He said it would be like a game he would make. He said it would be great.

Hopefully it looks cooler than the penguin one.

Oh and checking adriasang, Vita is crossplay with PC, sounds like the perfect excuse to not upgrade my PC and get a Vita instead.

It is impossible that you thought that word was a meme.

If so, there is no hope for the future.

I just love how all the pages in this thread are full of posts by ppl that are on my ignore list. Time to add more reggie avatars to it.

Um, in reality Japan is the #1 place to sell handhelds that's where they sell so announcing things for the west shouldn't be 1st priority. So MH and Persona do help.

Announcing things for the west at a western centric show shouldn't be a priority? Wuh? SCEJ has TGS to make announcements for Vita in Japan. Or hell, they can hold their own conference if they really want to show what's in store for the Vita in Japan. E3 has always been SCEA heavy, just as GamesCom is SCEE heavy. Why do people suggest this will change this year?

I edited out my quote of it since you do seem to be repentant but I don't really believe there is anyway someone couldn't know that was a slur in this day and age. Maybe back in the 90s when every kid was using it jokingly that excuse could fly, but certainly not now.

Consider yourself educated at a minimum.

I'm not a native speaker. I learned english with internet and games only. My vocabulary isn't exactly the best.

I could have looked for the meaning before posting though. I was sure it was a meme because I see it being posted a lot in 4chan.

It's abnormal to not show you have a AAA game in the pipeline. It means all the games are really early in development and won't be out until 2013 or they don't exist yet. Even a logo would suffice to reassure customers. It means they have nothing. Even Nintendo showed more at their online conference so there's no excuse.

For the record: In the UK it's a tasty meatball. Or possibly a firelighter. Although the derogatory term is starting to creep into usage, those are the original terms 'round here.

This failed even given the low expectations we had coming in.

I think this "wait for" meme needs to stop. At E3 we shouldn't expect any JP game announcements. We can give them the benefit of the doubt until e3 for new AAA announcements, but the flag has been raised.

IMO, given a 2 hour E3 conference, and assuming no PS4 or PS3 price drop, we'll probably get something like

00-15 = Talk about sales
15-30 = Talk about PSN, SEN, services, apps
30-50 = Talk about PSN games
50 - 1:20 = Talk about Vita games
1:20 - 2:00 = Talk about PS3 games

PS3 games will take the bulk of their E3 talk IMO. TLOU will be the big one, then there's also GOW4, Sony Smash Brothers, Sly 4, LBP Karting, Kara game or whatever, SF4 (heavily rumored), couple of big 3rd party games (GTAV, Infinite, CS: GO, etc). Hell they might even have to save some of those for Gamescom. They have lots of games to showcase for PS3.

For Vita games, I don't think we'll see Bioshock Vita or Ass Creed there. Irrational probably wants to get Infinite out of the door before showing the Vita version and Ubi is 100% focused on Ass Creed 3. Maybe we'll see call of duty, but I'm still a bit wary due to the fact that the guy that said it's coming this fall had no idea what he was talking about.

And had Levine not said a couple of days ago that "they're still working on Bioshock Vita", I would certainly start thinking it's smoke and mirrors like the PSP's RE, DMC, Elder Scroll announcements.

You were talking about "saving" the Vita, I was addressing that part of your argument.

Oh so you meant to say "Please, say one of them is Grandia. SAY IT YOU TASTY MEATBALL!".

That puts it in a whole new context.

Can GAF make my life easier and put a variation of this on the Vita OT?

I want to wake up every morning and be sure of the level of Doomness the vita is going to be at that day.

Gauranteed there will be at least some kind of Vita version for Call of Duty, it's on everything every year.

Well hey, on the bright side, PSO2 is pretty neat... I guess. Won't be getting the 3G Vita so it has incredibly limited use for me, but it's neat nonetheless. 2013 though... that's what hurts.

It wasn't me! I'm just highlighting that language isn't univ... actually, no. I'm just hungry. Mmm, meatballs.

It really should not, but SCEA prioritize consoles. It´s really sad. I really hope for a lot of Vita announcements and gameplay trailer.

It was better than nothing, at least they have a few games coming out relatively soon (Persona 4 Golden, MGS Collection, Gundam Seed Battle, Legend of Heroes) with a couple of annoucements for the future (PSO2, Super Robot Wars and Inafune's game).
Of course people are getting angry at the lack of big titles in the near future and they're right.
But we'll learn about their lineup for fall/holidays between E3 and TGS, not in March. I guess that FFX HD and MHP3 will be main titles although they're still portings...

Actually I'm more disappointed by the lack of infos on PSX compatibility and new apps (they promised the alarm clock and paint in spring).

Ehh. I'm more confident Bioshock Vita really do exist for the simple fact that Levine acknowledges it exists even nearly a year later(just yesterday, in fact). Did Capcom or Bethesda ever talk about RE PSP, DMC PSP, or ES PSP other than confirming they're not happening?

The GameArts announcements are interesting to me. I just hope they bring over Ragnarok Odyssey to the west soon, otherwise I might just import it.
