Welcome! PS Vita Game Paradise - Stream Thread [Wut Stream]

I didn't have high expectations ,but I'm still somewhat disappointed.
I really don't see any of these Vita announcements doing much to boost interest in the system ,let alone increase the japanese hardware sales.

Sony would probably set up a conference if they had such news.

This may also just be the first part of copying Nintendo Direct for a regular "update" "show" "thing"

It wasn't part of TGS. It was a Nintendo press event / direct broadcast.

jesus - then that's my memory shot - i could have sworn it was TGS.

But still, the only reason why MH4 was shown at such an early stage is because Nintendo had to show people that the games are coming. There was no rush for Capcom to do that.

Sony would probably set up a conference if they had such news.

Or they would wait for E3, or other such major press events like everyone else does?

It's not like Nintendo just set up the press confrence for the 3DS as a seperate stand alone thing, it was for TGS. Personally I would say if Sony have not announced anything major by E3, then maybe it will be time to worry about something, but right now there are a bunch of good/great looking games already slated for release.

I seem to recall all of Sonys hardware starting off slow, then they get some major titles, and they are fine again.

If they don't show anything on E3/TGS, we can 100% sure that Sony doesn't know shit of what they are doing with PS Vita. Seriously, it'll be just a great handheld/hardware, full of wasted potential.

.... at a TGS keynote with Capcom up there with them. Not on a friday night webcast.

That's not really the point, Capcoms upcoming support for the PS Vita is well none existent, even if they weren't going to announce MH at this if it is at all happening they should have announced something. Announcing nothing implies to consumers that Capcom aren't seriously supporting the platform which makes it seem to customers that a Mh for the Vita is in fact even less likely. The fact it's already said that they had no current plans for a MH on the Vita doesn't help things.

By the same token, bringing Capcom over and then showing something that isn't MH also implies there isn't one coming.

PS2 would like a word with you.

well they do have SFxTekken annouced so theres one at least.

Guess they will save the big stuff for E3, makes sense but doesn't make this any less dissappointing.

E3 won't be the place for Japanese Vita game announcements; they'll use E3 for Western Vita game announcements. Unless Sony hold a true press conference, you probably won't hear about significant Japanese Vita support (if it exists) until TGS in September.

Oh god, I completely forgot about this. Good thing I didnt stay awake for that ._.

The idea that Capcom (or whoever else) aren't supporting the Vita because they didn't reveal anything on an online webcast on some random Friday in March is absolutely hysterical.

Clearly, Capcom didn't reveal Monster Hunter here, so Monster Hunter is never coming to Vita and Capcom will never truly support the Vita. Arf.

Some people in this thread need to grow up. Fast.

I don´t need to tell you that in Japan portables>consoles, do i?

Im not following - what your point ? Or are you suggesting that those Vita versions will outsell their Ps3 counterparts ?
At the current year Vita will need 2-3 years or even more to have a comparable userbase and software sales on Ps3 title have been very solid - J-Publishers are betting on Ps3, while Vita can be lucky to get as port of some HD projects.

Eh, I doubt we'll hear about Monster Hunter and other Japan centric games at E3. Doesn't really make sense to announce them there since the show is geared towards western media.

Capcom am biased!

Still I was secretly hoping Sony would announce MHP3rdG for PSP/Vita with crossplay. Surely, Capcom aren't going to leave money on the table on that one?!

psp/vita will never get crossplay ever. the problem would be the save data compatibility and trophies.

Really, people should stop thinking E3 will be the place where Sony announce all these mythical Japanese Vita games that will save the handheld in Japan. The Vita highlights at E3 will likely be CoD Vita, Bioshock Vita, Assassin's Creed Vita, and some new 1st party games. Anyone expecting a new MH, a new Persona, or anything like that to be at E3 is setting themselves up for disappointment.

MH will be at e3.... western announcement of Tri G on 3DS with online support *plz*

What about the idea that someone isn't supporting the Vita because they didn't reveal anything that would be worth changing an "online webcast on some random Friday in March" into a more significant event?

The scale of this event was entirely dictated by Sony. If there had been more to announce, it's fairly safe to assume they'd have made a bigger deal of it. Had they secured MH4, with 5 and 6 guaranteed Vita exclusive, you'd better believe they'd have put on one *hell* of a press conference.

Japanese PS2 was god awful and we were starved of games for an age. We celebrated Onimusha ffs :/

everything that dictates anything is happening behind the scenes. Sony maybe know that they have everything secured and wrapped up ready for the year or two ahead. If theres no danger of anyone pulling support and those discussions have taken place then there isn't really much need to shoot their bolt right this second. The machine is 3 months old, a few weeks out in Europe and US. There's no need for any panic measures at all just yet.

The argument though is a logic dead avenue , i concede it. Capcom support for the moment is effectively 0 to a potential purchaser -right now- , so quite what the overall battle plan is i am not quite sure. But again - can only point to where we are in the systems life cycle.

Final Fantasy Type-0 could be there. It and MGS are really the only Japanese IPs that could be at Sony's E3 presser.

Indeed and it seems to me that one year ago, the japanese situation (in term of announced titles) wasn't that glorious on 3ds. it's always like that, at some point titles just pops up by dozen, but you have to let the time for devs to progress.

It's amazing how people are blazé nowadays, or delusional. It's never "every games that will save the console" in a row, just like that. It's step by step. That's why you have Famitsu or this kind of thing. More will be announced till the end of the year.

The announced software for 3DS at this time last year absolutely slaugheters Vita's announced lineup right now.

What was this presentation *for*, if not to try to energise Vita sales?

The mere fact they announced a game that was only 10% done was to be released in 2013 is very telling. They could have done the same to whole bunch of games that were pretty much in their planning stages like Sony loves to do but they didn't. This event was supposed to stimulate growth in sales in Japan were the sales are dropping badly it makes no sense to not make a big deal out of it.

Unless I'm forgetting something, Vita doesn't have even one (1) original good looking exclusive announced (third or first party) for the japanese audience.

That's all it needs to be said.

It just boggles my mind. I cannot comprehend how you take a company like Sony, w/ it's history and the lessons its learned to be where they are today. How can you make such a great piece of hardware like the Vita and be so bad at everything else?

well, I'd like to be optimistic about it, but with Nintendo seemingly got all the project from japan's major team from various publishers (kh team, resident evil team, monster hunter team, etc), it begs the question which team is left to make Vita games.

the most we can probably hope for to get games from those big teams are probably 3ds ports...

the rest is simply smaller team making low budget games on vita like falcom.

it was a feel good show for Vita owners

To feel the warm thrill of confusion, that space-cadet glow?

I've got some bad news for them, sunshine.

Vita's not well, it stayed back at the hotel.

These movies - not long - are our surrogate plan.

We're going to find out where you fans really stand.
