just realized Bradley Cooper isn't returning, which is ironic because he's the one who says they should meet up

The fact they got him back for the prequel was a miracle.

Speaking of, the opening to an episode with Hyde Pierce's character acting out the crazy shit he described in the film was masterful. Absolutely insanely hilarious.

Show me the fever
Into the fire
Taking it higher and higher
Nothing to fear
It's only desire
Taking you higher and higher!

Like its two predecessors, this looks like the dumbest and most embarassing parody of the 80s/90s out there.

And I'm all in for it.

I wouldn't be surprised if he still shows up some how, even if it's like how they ended up having his character wear a mask and Cooper did VO for a bit in the first season.

Pssh. Pffft. Psst. Pssh. Pfft. This is the perfect news to start my Thursday. This will be hilarious. August 4 can't come soon enough!

looks great but no bradley cooper is a shame

They had people wearing a bag over their head pretending to be his character in the prequel series because he was only able to be there for filming for an incredibly short amount of time.

I watched the original Wet Hot American Summer movie around when it first came out. I appreciated it as a growing cult movie but it wasn't my favorite thing.

But I L O V E First Day of Camp. Like, it's one of my most precious miracle projects like Scott Pilgrim vs the World where you just can't believe the right pieces fell in place to make it happen. I would make a case that First Day of Camp is one of the most successful prequel works ever produced and provides a model for how it should be done. I think it not only enriches the original material, but drastically excels it.

I didn't think they would do a season 2, but I'm very interested and super stoked. Let's see if they can do a sequel as impactful and essential as their prequel.

The best part about it is that you can tell that they all come back because they genuinely enjoy doing it. Paul Rudd is probably really busy with Infinity War and Ant Man 2 but he found the time to come back to this silly project.

The world always needs more David Wayne projects
