What are the best GBA games that I missed?

The Game Boy Advance was pretty much my life when it came out, but I only picked up games if they had the words Spiderman, Batman, or some other superhero in the title. I still have my GBA, so I'm wondering what are some of the best games that I missed. Pretty much any suggestion would be a good one since I'm looking to try out anything that's good. I guess the only restriction would be that the game still needs to be obtainable today for a decent price.
So, what are the best GBA games that I missed?

Edit: Side question-- do used GBA games hold up well, or do the cartridges get wacked after a while?

Ok here are the games I currently have. Don't laugh. Off the top of my head:
batman rise of sin tzu
Spiderman
Spiderman 2
Spiderman Mysterio Menance
Some he-man game
One of the frogger games
Harry potter 2
Harry potter 3 (this one was really good)
Harry potter 4
Spiderman Unlimited
Some battlehsip game I picked up at costco

Mother 3 is the best GBA game ever.

Other games:

Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow
Mega Man Zero 1-4
Both Metroid Games
Fire Emblem
Advance Wars
Wario Ware: Twisted
Rhythm Tengoku

Do you own a Wii U?

Also what games do you currently own/have played?

I suggest Fire Emblem regardless of your answer to those questions though.

I'd recommend you to try all of the SRPGs the system has. They're all really fun, Specially Tactics Ogre, Fire Emblem, Onimusha Tactics and Advance Wars (even though that one isn't an RPG :p). You should also check out the metroidvanias, there are three Castlevanias and two Metroids so there's a lot of gaming quality you'll find there as well.

No Wii U.
:lol What games do I currently have?
batman rise of sin tzu
Spiderman
Spiderman 2
Spiderman Mysterio Menance

Harry potter 2
Harry potter 3 (this one was really good)
Harry potter 4
Spiderman Unlimited

Advance Wars. You can still get it for 25 bucks.

Metroid Fusion.

Legend of Zelda 4 Swords - includes Link to the Past.

Golden Sun. Although this one's pretty expensive now.

Pokemon Fire Red / Leaf Green

Final Fantasy Tactics Advance.

Sonic Advance. Believe it or not - this series was actually pretty good on the GBA.

Fire Emblem and Fire Emblem Sacred Stones
Advance Wars 1 and 2
Golden Sun and Golden Sun The Lost Age
Metroid Fusion and Metroid Zero Mission
Mario & Luigi Superstar Saga
Final Fantasy V and VI Advance
Castlevania Aria of Sorrow
The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap
Tactics Ogre: The Knight of Lodis

Unsure about how easy a lot of these are to obtain offhand, but if they are reasonable, get them :P

Minish Cap, the Mario remakes are decent, Castlevania, Wario Ware and Wario Wate twisted, Fzero is good if that's your thing

Ninja Five-O and Drill Dozer. The unsung heroes of the GBA.
ninjafiveo.jpg

Shinobi mixed with Bionic Commando.
Drill_Dozer.jpg

The greatest neglected Nintendo property. An amazing sidescroller.

Mother 3 is the best GBA game ever.

Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow
Mega Man Zero 1-4
Both Metroid Games
Fire Emblem
Advance Wars
Wario Ware: Twisted
Rhythm Tengoku

Wow. This is one of the most "dat first post" first posts of all time. The only games I would add would be Mario & Luigi Superstar saga and Warioland 4 and then you have the core of the must have titles right there.
Kudos for omitting Minish Cap and Golden Sun.

I've been looking for titles I've missed to play on my Micro, because I absolutely adore the hardware.

I'm thinking about importing one of the japanese f-zero games after seeing it on awesome games done quick.

Dragon Ball Advanced Adventure (seriously, a real sleeper hit)
Gunstar Super Heroes
Drill Dozer
Gradius Galaxies
Metal Slug Advance
Sonic Advance 1 (and only 1)
Megaman Zero series
Castlevania series

No way. Minish Cap is absolutely amazing and a must have.

The battle network series

Damn good
I'd pay for a 3ds port

Listen to this guy.

The Mega Man Battle Network games are amazing; they have a really unique blend of RPG mechanics, card-collecting, and extremely fast-paced action combat. I encourage anyone with a GBA to try at least MMBN 2 or 3.

Also word of advice

Read up on how to spot bootleg carts if you haven't already. There are tons and tons of bootleg GBA carts floating around places, especially if you buy online. A long time ago before I knew about bootleg carts I got scammed on DKC1-3 GBA. It wasn't until months later reading stuff online that I realized my carts were fake.

Final Fantasy Tactics Advance
Mother 3
Metroid Fusion and Metroid Zero Mission
Gunstar Super Heroes
Zelda The Minish Cap
Golden Sun
Mega Man and Bass
Mega Man Zero series

This should get you started

Sounds like you missed all of them. lol

Agree with the suggestions in this thread though. The Castlevania and Metroid games, Minish Cap, Golden Sun 1 and 2, Final Fantasy Tactics Advance, Tactics Ogre: The Knight of Lodis, Mega Man Zero games, at least one Meagan Battle Network, Superstar Saga, Final Fantasy V and VI if you haven't/can't play them on SNES.

Great little system that Nintendo brutally murdered by releasing the DS too early.

EDIT: Forgot Final Fight Advance and River City Ransom EX.

Dragon Ball Z: Legacy of Goku 2 and Dragon Ball Z: Buu's Fury.

While the first LoG wasn't very good, both sequels are incredibly fun and are still two of my favorite games.

My man, I always go for those Superhero games. Unfortunately they rarely end up well, especially on portables. I still get 'em tho.

Uh

Final Fight Advance is kind of a treat. FF is a beat 'em up, of course. It adds dialogue and even "lore," lol.

Speaking of FF: Final Fantasy! Final Fantasies 1, 2, 4, 5, and 6 have been released on the GBA, with 1 & 2 bundled together. They're JRPGs, if you're into that. I'd recommend 6 if you wanna skip straight to the best.

Zero Mission is pretty much the unanimous "best" western-released GBA game, and people have mentioned it. Fusion was pretty good, and all of the Castlevania games are pretty good too. Aria is the supposed best if you wanna skip straight to that. They're action adventure games with a focus on exploration and power gaining.

King of Fighters EX and Street Fighter Alpha 3 are surprisingly great if you're into fighters.

Warioware is fuckin' godly tho. I think there are two on the GBA, but I've only played the first. Probably my personal favorite GBA game. It's got strange humor, and it's more of a collection of inane minigames. So, if you're not into that.

WarioWare: Twisted is a must play. Also try the Advance Wars series, Astro Boy: Omega Factor, Mario & Luigi Superstar Saga, the Metroid GBA titles, and some of the other fine games in this thread.

Golden Sun is one of my favorite games ever!

I also recommend Megaman Battle Network, Mario Kart Super Circuit, Pokemon FireRed, Boktai, Minish Cap, Metroid Fusion, and the Yu-Gi-Oh games (Sacred Cards is my fav).

Both Wario Ware games.

Both Metroid games.

Minish Cap, Pokemon Emerald, Pokemon Fire Red, the Castlevania games. Just off the top of my head.

I personally grew up with Sonic Advance and Super Mario Advance 4 (remake of SMB3 for the GBA, it's amazing, simply amazing).

That's the two games I really recommend: Super Mario Advance 4 and Sonic Advance.

Harvest Moon: Friends Of Mineral Town. One of the best in the series.
To be honest, I bought Back to Nature on PSN without knowing much about the series, and I was slightly disappointed that it was 3d instead of 2d sprites. I'll still play it, but I thought (for some reason) that most of the older Harvest Moons were 2d.

FinalFantasyTacticsAdvanceGBACoverArtUS.jpg

I spent so many hours on these two games in my childhood. Both are amazing storywise and graphics. They both have aged really well imo.
also I played the hell out of harry potter 2 gba that game was surprisingly good

The GBA Essentials;

Mario & Luigi: SuperStar Saga

Pokemon: FireRed or LeafGreen

Pokemon: Emerald

Metroid: Zero Mission

Metroid: Fusion

Kirby & The Amazing Mirror

Legend Of Zelda: Minish Cap

Advance Wars 2: Black Hole Rising

Wario Land 4

WarioWare: Twisted!

And if you haven't played them yet, the GBA ports of the classic Mario games are mostly pretty solid. Yoshi's Island is the one Mario port where SNES is way better than GBA, but the others can be either or.

I'd also recommend importing Rhythm Tengoku. Even with import taxes it shouldn't cost much. I got a complete copy for less than $30.

These are the must buys in my opinion:

  • Mother 3 (fan translation)
  • Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga
  • The Legend of Zelda: Minish Cap
  • Castlevania: Circle of the Moon
  • Castlevania: Harmony of Dissonance
  • Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow
  • Golden Sun
  • Golden Sun: The Lost Age
  • Metroid Fusion
  • Metroid: Zero Mission
All of them are available on eShop, except Mother 3. The Castlevania trilogy is still being released in Europe, only Circle of the Moon is out so far. I've never played Advance Wars, but it's widely considered one of the best Game Boy Advance games. Kuru Kuru Kururin is a little great gem too. Other great titles are Kirby, Wario Land 4, WarioWare, Pokémon (you might prefer to play the 3DS remake)...

Onimusha_Tactics_cover.jpg

Onimusha Tactics. Considering we'll probably never get another Onimusha game, this is worth playing if you're an Onimusha fan and enjoy tactics rpg games. I discovered it recently myself.

Castlevania: Circle of the Moon was my first 2D Castlevania game and I loved the heck out of it. Golden Sun gets my vote too as everyone's already said.

Most of the best ones have been said. I'll add the Mega Man Zero 1-4 games which are fantastic.

Note that they were released in a collection on the DS though, which may work out cheaper - no idea how much any of them go for nowadays
