Hoping to get a proper capture card to capture some PS360 footage.

Might upgrade to this year's iPad model if it's right.

Probably one of the two portables depending on how things shake out.

Might do a video card upgrade.

Will probably get a PC Blu-Ray drive so I can rip my increasingly large Blu collection.

Looking to get a 360 Slim, but I have two 360s. Looking to get a slim PS3, but I have a 60 Gig BC unit. So probably won't be able to justify either of those.
I've been debating whether or not to include a Blu-ray drive for my new build. I have blu-ray movies, but I usually play them on my PS3.

The idea of ripping them onto my drive sounds nice though...

Not sure if it would justify the price for me (partially because, I haven't looked at the prices recently.)

(1) Gaming PC (built from ground up, probably will spend around €1000 on it not including monitor)

(2) 40+ inch Full HD TV (which will also act as a monitor for my above gaming PC)

(3) New Android phone (at this stage might just leave this till the second half of the year whenever the dual cores come out)

I was planning on getting a 3DS, but with the region locking, the european pricing and so on think I'll probably just wait until the redesign comes out. Same for the NGP (well more likely just wait for a price drop on this rather than an actual redesign).
Second half?

But dual-core phones are coming out in the first half...

Probably an LED TV to replace my DLP when the price gets good. Should be good quality TVs at ~55" below $1500. Don't really care about 3D or soap opera mode. Just contrast, color, etc.

Have to outfit my first non-furnished flat this year, so pretty much the full entertainment set-up. TV, speakers, receiver, turntable, yadda yadda. I've drifted away from gaming so I doubt I'll bother upgrading my computer, and my PS3 will play The Show 11. Signing bonus is gonna save my ass.

Also probably an iPhone 5, but it'll be $0-$50 after the company chips in.

Seems like $80-120 (I'm in Canada)

probably won't be making a big electronics purchase this year.

Same here. Unless something breaks and needs to be replaced, that is.

Hell, my media backlog is so big I probably won't be buying any consumer entertainment goods this year.

I may build another PC this year if there is a significant leap over 5850. Sandybridge is a decent upgrade over my i5 750 (30-40% faster), but GPUs aren't really faster than 5850 right now, unless you get the ultra high end stuff, which I could have done last year.

I don't normally build PCs so quickly, but I'm thinking I could make the new one for gaming, TV, and blu-ray in my living room. I think I want to get a blu-ray drive in the PC just so I can get an application that skips all of the bullshit (10 different legality warnings and ads about stealing stuff, forced ads, ridiculous online ads, clunky user interface).

Edit: I'd also like to get a decent motherboard that would allow SSD HDD for the OS, and a RAID1 secondary HDD for long term storage.

Nothing, probably. Lately I've been going for smaller refinements that make me happy. It's amazing what a few framed prints, fresh paint, and some cable covers to hide wires can do to liven up your existing electronic purchases.

Kinect might be it for me this year. My old iPhone 3G is working fine for me. I'm pretty happy with my electronics set-up at the moment.

I have no desire to enter the portable gaming market (my first gen original PSP is more than enough for me). The 3DS would be my first additional purchase if I make one this year, it looks rad.

Will definitely be getting the iPad2.

I'll possibly get the NGP depending on the price/how much money I have to spare.

I will try to resist getting the iPhone5, but I'm such a tech whole that I'm not sure how that will turn out.

2010 was rather big for me as I built a new desktop and got an iPhone 4, new router, new modem, and a Roomba (refurb). I also received a new work laptop and was lucky enough to get a chrome laptop.

2011 should be a be rather tame by comparison. The only item on my mind is an iPad 2. I will probably hold out for a second revision of the 3ds or jump on a psp2 depending on how both pan out this year. I can't imagine getting either until next year.

I'm going to build a new PC, it's been little over 2 years.

Building a theater room.

Buying a pretty kick ass alarm system. Something like ADT pulse, I'm not quite sure of other options at this point, I want something that will be able to dim lights, turn them off, cameras at door, ect..

edit : excuse my ignorance, but WTF is a NGP? Do I need to be on gaming side more to understand.

I'm buying a 42 inch plasma and a decent surround sound system as a gift to myself for finishing college. I've been saving up an researching for a while so I'll be able to do this for a lot less than most would expect. I need a new TV anyway since my LCD is on its way to the graveyard.

Also there's a huge deluge of games I'm planning on getting day one. Waiting on 3DS and NGP until price drops because of that.

New surround receiver...the one I have is about 10 years old, with no HDMI connectivity. I'd like one with tons of ports and good upscaling for my older systems.

Probably start outfitting my entire house with various logitech squeezebox devices. Some outdoor speakers, boom boxes, clock radios for the bedroom, touchscreen for the living room, etc. All with the ability to sync everything up and play the exact same music throughout my entire house. :D

Maybe for you americans, but not over here in ye olde Ireland!!!.....well actually yeah they probably will be out over here in the first half even though we're a little behind (we still don't have the Nexus S yet dammit), but I'll probably still probably wait until the second half to get it for less.

Kinect at some point, once there are a few more games I want to play (spring?).

iPad 2 only if it has a higher res screen or media card capability.

My iphone 3gs died last week so I need a new phone this week. Still debating between the iphone 4 and various Win7 and Android models.

That's it. Have a new and killer PC as of last October, my laptop is fine and I have no desire to come anywhere near Blurays. Curious about the 3DS and NGP, but can't justify buying them since I don't have enough free time for my existing hobbies already.

these are all on the maybe list. don't really need anything this year unless something breaks

3ds
psp2
kindle

A gaming PC if Diablo 3 launches this year. I missed Cataclysm and Starcraft 2 but Diablo I refuse to not pay the 800 dollar buy in for new hardware + game.

I would also think I could end up with an NGP If the software looks good enough. I imagine me wanting Uncharted and LBP Portable titles. The only other thing that would sway this would be if Resident Evil 3DS hit this fall and blew everyone's mind. Though I imagine that being a 2012 title.

A 3DS for sure (I've already preordered it and paid in full) as well as probably a large upgrade to my PC, mainly a new motherboard, CPU, and memory. Everything else I can recycle.

In no order of importance;

Dell Streak 7
Sandy Bridge 2600k
Sandy Bridge mobo by Asus
GTX580
Chevrolet Cruze (hopefully this Feb 10th!)

Total PC rebuild: Gonna do this in stages

Stage 1: Mobo/Proc/Ram

Stage 2: GPU/SSD and maybe PSU depending

Stage 3: Soundcard/Headphones
