What are your hopes for Battlefield 5?

-Legit clan and squad party support
-Team wide voice chat
-Get rid of the mode bloat and craft a focused experience around Rush and Conquest.
-No tedious progression/unlock systems. ALL guns should be free to use in Test Range and unlocking one shouldn't be harder than spending some sort of in game currency.
-Stop with the end of match shenanigans. Teams stay static. New players fill gaps. Simple.
-Real destruction, no half broken set piece garbage
-No campaign. DICE has never gotten remotely close to making one that was even half decent--don't waste the resources.
-continue making incredible sound design a priority
-classic maps including Backstab and Arica Harbor

My biggest wish is a focus on Rush. Specific maps for specific modes, or at least redefined map boundaries for different modes. And for Rush, I want narrower maps. I prefer Rush because I like the way it funnels players and focuses the action, so let's not ruin that with maps that are too wide. Also, more close-quarters maps like Metro (not more than half of all maps, though).

Also, I hope the pay attention to what works and what doesn't in Battlefront. I think there are some elements there that DICE could apply to BF5.

- Make the squads have to work together. BF4 pretty much got away from this entirely. As most longtime BF players know, just one squad that works really well together can almost always win a match. Now imagine 5 or 6 squads on both sides doing the same.

- More destruction less leveloution
fucking hate just typing that word out
. This probably won't happen because its an awesome bullet point for the back of the box.

- Like COD and BF3/BF4, I don't mind the SP campaigns. They're nothing special, but not bad either. So let's keep that campaign and maybe just give it to a different developer.

- Make people want to play any other class than engineer. Its by far the most popular class on PS4 for BF4, PS3 for BF3. The game modes should make the individual squads want to be diverse.

- Like others have rightfully stated, get rid of all the useless Gucci attachments. 6 different attachments per gun is more than enough.

- Fix Recon, its a class thats been getting shittier IMO. I dont know how to fix it, so I can't really give input.

- The setting should be in current day, no future shit. Let COD have that setting.

- Give me more night ops maps, but also a game mode that benefits from it.

- Conquest, Rush, TDM, Night Ops mode. Maybe even a three sided conquest type mode....maybe.

- If and when DICE changes how aircraft control, give us a fucking training mission or tutorial.

- Penalize those that use aircraft just to get to an objective quicker and then ditch/destroy that asset.

- Put a timer on how long you can stay in the menu before you're automatically respawned. Its extremely annoying when you know people are just waiting in the menus to get a certain vehicle instead of PTFO.

- Make your solider your own. This is where DICE could actually make money in simple cosmetics and not gameplay altering bs. Let the player fully customize his or her own character. Let them put on whatever gear they want, as long as it doesn't give any advantages to gameplay. DICE can pump out more and more customizable shit every month.

- Battlelog is here to stay, but it can fuck off.

Thats all for now.

Edit!!!

- I think EA stated its gonna happen, but no esport shit. Please.

My hope is that it's called Bad Company 3.

Praise be, right on the money. Why is BC2 a classic? Because gameplay was tight and map design was borderline flawless. Every BF game since has struggled in the latter, but I admit, BF4 is a step in the right direction for gameplay over BF3.

I want a mix of BF1942, BF2, & BC2.

BF 1942 was the first FPS I played on high speed internet. I still have not played a game with as much fun. Running on foot in El Alamein was anything but fun though.

If they do make 2143, I'd like them to introduce it with a remake of this at E3. Just for fun.

I also want Suppression to die off. It's one of those ideas that make a reasonable amount of sense on paper, but in execution isn't something anyone really wants.

As for the timeframe, WW2 would bring originality in 2015. But something set at the end of the cold war or the early 1990s could be interesting. Like a little retro feeling without going back to BFBC2 Vietnam or going back to Stalingrad and Berlin. There is already Battlefront for the futuristic setting. But I guess they'll stay with the contemporary setting.

1. Make it play more like BC2 (Sniping, TTK, movement speed, destruction, whatever)
2. Conquest mode greatest hits maps (BF2 forward)
3. Rush mode greatest hits maps (BC2 forward. Arica Harbour, for example)
4. Free maps. Figure out the business model to sustain this. No premium.
5. Great netcode, great party system
6. $30-$40
7. If including campaign, make it BC3 and charge $60

Would you also like 120 maps at the beginning and 2 maps per week for 10 years ? $30 seems right for that content.

Would love for them to go back to ww2. And just release expansions every 6 months to a year than random map or two every 2/3 months

Stick to a time period or go balls deep in fictional (like 2142). Don't do some Black Ops III weird ass middleground shit.
Continue the trend set by Battlefield 4 in wider playspaces for urban environments. This is one area Battlefield 4 really shits over Battlefield 3.
Increased destruction. Simplify the procedural elements if it allows greater proliferation of destruction.
Speed up ballistics and balance your game around this. Ballistics feel so fucking slow in Battlefield 4.
Keep "levolution", but rework it to more significantly or diversely impact map layouts, and make its trigger either more complex or outside of player control. As a random, adaptable element it would be enjoyable. The current form is too sterile.
Cut back the amount of weapons and availability, particularly in handing out stuff like DMRs to every class. Same goes for equipment; focus on individual roles instead of weird crossovers.
Weapon class-based unlock system needs to fucking go. It's a grind and it's boring as shit, railroading players to one particular weapon class.
Vehicle unlocks can fuck off too.
Map size and layout designed specifically for 64 player conquest first and foremost.

As one of the only people who really enjoyed Battlefield 4's campaign, I would be happy to see a similar quality single player included.

Bad Company 3 campaign.
They need to get to this already, before those actors retire or something, because they're integral to what made the first two campaigns stand out. Man...Bad Company's single player could've evolved into something great.

But it will never happen. Battlefield 5, 6 and 7 will have yet another campaign that tries to be that cool dramatic action thing that's ultimately just kind of...eh.

I'd like for them to go Battlefield (sans single-player) + Battlefield Premium for $60.

It's EA, so I don't know if they'll go for that, but Rainbow Six Siege has done that and the base game + a year of map support feels like it should be the standard for multiplayer-focused experiences.

make all the maps free and only have cosmetic stuff for a price, that way it doesn't break up the community.

Also, focus on 5 modes only, we don't need 43 different modes to play. Focus on 5 and build maps around that. Because when you have the 43 different modes to make maps for something suffers really bad and that would be rush because they completely abandoned it for battlefield 4. When you have the defenders on a half sunken ship with only their wits and rpgs and the attackers get an attack boat, a raft boat, an Amtrak and chopper, something is wrong.

Agree with vast majority of sentiment already, but:

Drop campaign. Don't even try - those resourced can be better put elsewhere. A map editor ala Farcry's or Halo's Forge would be fantastic. A horde mode would also be an acceptable replacement.

More custom game modes/settings.

Make DLC (ideally all of it) free.

Allow full cosmetic customisation. If cosmetic microtransactions need to supplement free dlc, so be it.

What's with the prone hate?

Some people think that if prone is removed, there will be far fewer snipers camping on rooftops and hillsides, even though BC2 demonstrated that this is entirely not the case. I think they also fail to consider the important utility prone can have for certain classes (e.g. allowing Support players to cover their teammates' advance with an LMG). And of course, simply being able to hug the ground is a lifesaver when you're trying to evade a sniper or tank by jumping behind a piece of low cover or a shell crater.

A Bad Company 2 style game set in the 2142 time frame.

I would have to call a doctor about my unending erection.

Get rid of suppression and sniper scope sun beams. Fuck that noise.

Whoever designed them must have been the Ryan Howard of Dice.

I really don't understand why so many people want Battlefield 5 to be Battlefield: Bad Company 3. Those are not the same thing.

Honestly from Battlefield 5, I want Dice to make a real sequel to Battlefield 2. I don't feel like that has happened yet. They need to go back to that template look at what worked, look at what worked in 3 and 4, and just improve. Imo Battlefield 2 was perfect. I'm just not sure if I want a contemporary Battlefield 5 or a Battlefield 1945. Regardless the focus should be on conquest, all else can come later.

I want a sequel to BC2, and 2142 but those games wouldn't be Battlefield 5.

Feature complete. More than 4 maps.

At this point they might as well start an Early Access program on Origin the way DICE has been releasing their past few games.

Yeah i don't get what the big deal is with snipers and prone. If someone is truly concerned about snipers going prone instead of looking at the benefits of going prone during actual combat with all the classes, then they haven't played long enough to realize that snipers don't really even affect the outcome of a match at all and 95% of snipers are terrible shots anyway, if you're dying to snipers a lot just...don't stand still ok?

Also due to the extremely slow ballistics in BF4, evading snipers and returning fire with a Rifle, Carbine or DMR is incredibly easy(and satisfying).

And on topic, i just really want the next game to build on the balance they've reached in BF4. IMO it's the best team shooter in years that just rewards a squad that works together.

My hopes?

For the game to be a finished product on release day, rather than several months later.

(Fuck you BF4)

And private matches.

- Less weapons, gadgets, and attachments.
- TTK the same as BC2.
- Good maps built with different game modes in mind. Don't try to fit every map to every mode.
- Destruction at least as good as BC2.
- No prone.
- No jets.
- Proper focus on Rush.
- Inclusion of Hardline game modes like Hotwire and Blood Money.
- Better hit detection.
- Game that works at launch.
- Move away from the high contrast lighting of BF3 and 4. That shit has always looked horrible.

Ya this is good right here. Levolution is dumb, destructible environment is good. Although I enjoyed bf3, there has been a slow decline in quality, 4 is okay but not memorable like a firestorm or Caspian or even better harbour in bfbc2

Eliminate 3D spotting altogether. I abuse the shit out of it, but to be honest it makes things too easy. (Will never happen)

Incorporate more Squad style game play. Open mics, emphasis on communications.

Over the years BF has been leaning more casual friendly. The current iteration still requires skill to be decent. Please Dice/EA, don't go anymore casual than it is now. Right now is a good balance.

Prone is great it's guaranteed headshot on prone snipers lol. It doesn't really matter if it's in or out but no prone is pretty not true to real life. But if bfbc2 didn't have it I never noticed

They can tone down on the amount of guns and attachments. There are so many guns and attachments that are alike that it's pointless to use certain guns. So less guns that actually shoot differently. Attachments that matter.

No single player.. use the space towards multi.

Minimize "levolution". If it really does change the gameplay like Siege of Shanghai or Flood Zone then thats cool. But if it takes away from being able rocket launch a wall and have parts of it fall on people then don't do it. I miss being able to do that in BF3

Do you mean Bad Company 2? Cause 3's destruction is much worse than 4's.

No future/near future crap. No exo-suits or thruster packs, leave that for Titanfall which is the only one to do it right. Seriously, screw sci-fi.

Better netcode/server tick. Features/stability found now in BF4. No webpage to play crap. Usual better gfx and audio.

Proper theme song please as well. No techno-dub thanks.

As long as they fix the nerfs that sniper rifles received a few months ago then I'm happy. Dice LA literally destroyed one of my favorite play styles, the aggressive sniper. Put a 1x scope and go hunting. Its fun because if you make the shot you get a kill but if you miss you're pretty much boned. Anyways, a patch screwed the rifles to oblivion for this type of play style.

Besides that, better performance. More destructible environments, more weapons. Better net code since BF4 was pretty bad for a long time in terms of ping and stuff.

It's called Battlefront. You can buy it now.
