No. I built my last 3 PCs to be hooked up to TVs for gaming, browsing, and media. While I use KB/M for typing bullshit posts on forums, I rarely game with them. It's a hassle to rig up a seating arrangement where they can be used comfortably. That said, I hate shooters with a controller. They are awful.

Anyway, Xbone. My 360 controllers/wireless adapters all shit the bed about the same time right after building my latest rig so I bought an Xbone controller. 2 days later my fucking dog ate the left stick. I got one of those grip things but it doesn't really fit right. I will probably get an XSX one when they come out.

XB Elite Series 2 for a couple of months now, before I used a Dualshock 4 with DS4Windows.

Also own and used these for a short time

This controller may look a little weird but it is super comfortable in the hands, if it had paddles it would have been my main PC controller.

Pretty terrible to be honest, playing anything other than shooters with this feels awful, on the other hand the back paddles on it was what got me interested on the Series Elite controller.

I use Switch Pro controller and Dualshock 4 (depending on the game and if I want to use gyro). Connected via Bluetooth.

XB1 controller (revised version) when I'm forced to (where support for the other two controllers isn't built-in). Connected via the XB1 controller dongle.

I have no idea about the problem you're having, all these 3 controllers have always worked flawlessly for me wirelessly.

The steam controller must not be good. Not one has said they use it here as a primary controller.

So are you connecting your Xbox Controller via Bluetooth or Dongle adapter? My Elite controller's Bluetooth signal seems pretty weak/unstable when compared to my Dualshock's, I'm thinking of buying the wireless adapter for it.

I just use the USBadapter it came with. I did not have this issue with windows 8.1.

Instead of updating, have you tried uninstalling the driver and then reinserting the usb adapter so it can re-download it?

I did. I actually tried this first and it still does it. Works right away if I do either. But when I shut off PC today. Tomorrow I'll have to do it again. So strange.

Razer Wolverine Ultimate. Finally trained myself to use the back buttons on DOOM Eternal and it's an indispensable feature all future controllers should have. This has 6 extra mod buttons on the back, but ideally it would be 10.

Main reason why I eventually moved away from them (plus the crap dpad)
Also the actual rubber on the sticks seem to wear away super easy compared to other first party controllers.

Xbox one elite with REWASD which lets you map the back paddles to any button or keyboard/mouse function.
Steam controller.
Autohotkey for macros- The latest macro I used was for Legend of Grimrock, I'm able to play that with the steam controller and it works better than mouse and keyboard.

Ya luckily I have 4 of them. My main i retired due to stick drift. I have read it may be possible to clean it rather than replacing the stick. I'll give that a try

Well my 360 controller broke today so i need a new one for PC, it needs to have motion controls in it for zelda botw as i get tired of this android app.

Any suggestions. Are there still plug and play controllers or do they all need drivers now? and do you need additional hardware with it to get it connected.

Personally was looking at the switch pro controller but no clue if that thing works anywhere near remotely as well as my old xbox 360 in games.

I mainly use my good old Xbox 360 controller that has some slight drift in the left stick for the majority of games. If I am playing a competitive shooter I hookup the DS4 via USB.

I also have a Steam controller that I use for some CRPG's because I prefer to game on my couch with a TV.

Until my Xbox one controller breaks there is no point in changing it. When it does I'll probably get an XSX controller when those are out.

But it's worth noting that I mostly use mouse and keyboard.

If motion controls are a need then the Dualshock 4 is your best option. You will need the DS4Windows application to get the best out of it though including the motion sensors.

just a basic wired Xbox 360 controller, It's a lot lighter than the wireless version (no batteries of course) and also made sure to buy an actual MS branded one, not the cheap knockoffs you find on ebay that fall apart after a few months lol. (ok I might of learned that the hard way).

I mostly use KB/M but certain games are definitely better with a controller.

Xbox Elite. It is very good but there is one thing I find hugely annoying and that is the analog sticks snapping back too hard and slightly shaking/vibrating/resonating the entire controller because of the metal.

I love being able to put paddles on the back.

my main controller but V1 has a big problem with the grip issue.

I use 2x F310's, 1x F710, 2x Steam Controllers and sometimes my Xbox One controller.

Dualshock 4, with DS4windows. My Xbox One controllers are all the older type, with the non-adapter wireless capability.

Works really well. You can use the track pad as a mouse, too. Left and right clicks with single and two finger taps respectively, and swipe for mouse movement.

In total, I have a dualshock 4, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and the Steam controller. Currently main the dualshock because the Xbox controller's are flimsy little bitches. The SC just collects dust at this point.
