What genre should Naughty Dog tackle next?

I would love to see Naughty Dog tackle fantasy, and more developers try and tackle fantasy in general (without it being some alternate interpretation of middle ages shit every time). I think their strengths work better with that than sci-fi IMO.

HAHAHA I love it! Look what Luke Plunkett of Kotaku said! (Note: I'm the other guy).

Sci-fi action/adventure, something kind of Flash Gordon-esque, based on old serials.

Basically Uncharted in space, I guess. I really want something lighthearted after TLOU. Have characters with silly retrofuturistic outfits and vehicles straight out of the Jetsons, big computers with punch cards.

RPG. They are the best story-tellers in gaming right now. I'd love to see them tackle that...after 3 or 4 more TLoU games :D

Maybe using their Savage Starlight comics as a basis?

I'd love to see a new 3D cartoony platformer IP. Given their history, they're capable - they've made huge leaps in the decade since Jak 3. However, even the magic of Naughty Dog probably couldn't overcome the average consumer's negative bias toward the genre...

It would certainly be nice to try though...

I want to see them go back to fantasy.

3D Platformer plz soony/ND

I'd be more comfortable buying another story driven action adventure game from ND rather than a platformer.

They may still have some devs from their Crash days, but that doesn't mean they're capable as a studio to create a very good platformer game (or any others that have been suggested like open world RPG, etc)

I don't think making a platformer interests them. They've spent too much on their mo-cap technology over the years. I think for the time being, they will only be making cinematic style games. Of course, like all things, they will go out of style and Naughty Dog will need to adapt. Despite all the cinematic games that are out there or are being made, I honestly think we are still in its infancy and Naughty Dog is leading the way.

I'd love to see Naughty Dog do an action/beat 'em up game done in the style of a Kung-fu movie. Something with the linearity and gameplay of say, God of War, except with ND's cinematic flair and storytelling.
