I Wanna Be The Guy
U-S-A! U-S-A! U-S-A!
I don't think the library is lackluster, but the big exclusive lineup is.It has about 92%-95% of the same games the Xbox One has. If the PS4's library is lackluster, so is the Xbox One's.

Honestly, I don't know. I feel that for the masses, the Xbox One is the clear consumer choice and offers the most flexibility and consumer-friendliness.
Not sure if MS will catch up in sales, but the gap will tighten up imo

I'm aware of that. My point is that if it shares he same games with the competition and has worse big exclusives then clearly it's not the games that are the driving force behind its success compared to the competition.Well then you clearly don't understand how the gaming industry works. In your delusional world exclusives will make up the top selling games on a platform when in reality its mostly multi-platform games.
Really?
What do you think of the game install difference? Definitely more gamer-friendley...
That's what counts and why Ps4 is winning.

I think the fact that you can actually add storage to the console so you don't have to deal with installs more than once is more consumer friendly, but that is just my opinion. It just seems more flexible overall and more direct. Even though it is more media-center like, it still feels like a console to me, which is a great plus in my eyes.
In what way?

Edit: I see what you are saying, but most casual gamers purchase systems for the multiplatform games from my observation. Exclusives do not seem quite as important now as they did before for casual gamers.
Did we have threads like this when the Wii and Xbox 360 soared in the last gen? I'm curious to read through them and compare then and now.
First impressions are key.
microsoft's and nintendo's mistakes

If you think people walk into a store blind and ask WHAT ABOUT THE INSTALL TIMES then you're really wrong
The competition being a joke surely helped too.
Thats what I'm thinking. The other two really gave them the pole position on a silver platter.microsoft's and nintendo's mistakes

So if microsoft and nintendo don't have any mistakes, Sony will be a loser???

It's an incredibly well built gaming machine that marries innovative but not overbearing new ideas like share play, the touchpad, and remote play, with loads of games at a perfect value for money price and with excellent additional multi media applications.
It's not exactly hard to work out.
The PS4 is apparently what the market needs right now. I read an interview where Sony themselves are surprised at how successful it is.
So what is making the PS4 so appealing in contrast with the other consoles?
Not trying to start a flame war, just interested in discussing the needs of the current market.
A number of things. MS shitting the bed early on and Sony saying all the right things helped. But i think that only really accounts for why PS4 is keeping pace in XB1's home region when last gen they were dominated in the same region with only half the sales consistently than 360.
No, the early word of mouth helped Sony, but i think it was more of a perfect storm. Price proposition, all about the games marketing, a focus on a diverse library,(versus the samey AAA shooter western blockbusters of XB1) of course more powerful components and i think there was also an element of people just wanting to try something different than what they had for 9 years
