Why doesn't more blame go towards Fox Studios and their handling of both FF and X-Men?
Higher ups were kept away from Deadpool and it was easy money.
FF ,iono, how that keeps going wrong.

The funny thing the second Marvel gets the X-men rights back, they'll do a push in a way that will make it seem like the X-men never lost popularity.

Like the second it's announced Marvel has X-men back, the x-men will be popular again.

I'd like to remind you that Gambit is getting a $150M movie.

$150M.

Don't you worry none, mon ami. Gambit is ready.

Fox deserves plenty of blame for how they have handled the Fantastic Four. One of the most iconic comic book series of all time and it's been completely butchered on screen.

Their X-Men handling has been fine. Yeah, The Last Stand sucked, and that first Wolverine movie was dire, but no one has been perfect when translating comics to movies. X2 and Days of Future Past were great, and the original film and First Class were both pretty good movies.

Nope, after Deadpool made that $$$ they're in pre-production IIRC

Still no director attached and script complete.

Agreed

Doesn't fox own some of the rights to xmen toys and games?

Why would marvel promote something they don't get full profit on.

When that 150 mill Gambit movie comes out and does a billion dollars in China alone, you will be eating crow

I'd like to remind you that Gambit is getting a $150M movie.

$150M.

If that movie actually happens and is good I will change my avatar to Gambit tussling Vampire Jubilee's hair for a month.

Y'all better hope Tatem can do to Gambit what Brie Larson is gonna have an uphill climb to do for Carol

6000 characters in the Marvel universe and people wanna keep talking about the same 12 over and over and over.

Fuck the X-Men.

Bronson gonna make the whole movie a romantic comedy set in turn of the century England.

Inexplicably there's gonna be a shitload of Chinese people in it.

Safest bet i seen in a while.

150 million dollars for a guy who has CW level powers.

If Marvel cam out and said they were going to do a 150 million dollar Blue Marvel movie I would have to give them bit of side eye. But 150 million dollars for gambit, I can't stop laughing.

I love period dramas, what can I say?

And I mean, well, there's probably only going to be one.

playing multiple roles

This is really my thought on it.

Marvel gets the X-Men and the Fantastic Four back, there's no reason to trying something a bit different with characters like the Guardians, Dr. Strange, and Black Panther. Movie schedules are finite and the only reason Marvel does anything else is because they don't have the rights to those characters.

Gonna be honest, he was all right as Gambit. Lest we forget the material the actors were working with.

"Come on, Bub."
"Did you call me blob??"

I think he made an ok Gambit too.

Really? Honestly I don't remember that line hahaha I've watched it once, and tried to erase it from memory ever since. Film was so bad ;.;

Watch when Marvel drops that Solo movie. It will change the course of cinema FOREVER

But. Hear me out.

What if we get a Captain Britain movie?

Literally they better hope they keep Tatum and he kills it.

He's got the talent to do it but at 150 million lol wtf are they thinking?

There is only 2 story lines that could justify that, Gambit's enhance origin where he travels back in time to Victorian England or The New Son storyline.

Its really a business decision to not promote characters that they don't own all the rights to. Its a great move on their part they don't "need" the X-men currently because they are doing fine without them. Fantastic 4 is the most realistic franchise they could actually get back, those movies have been abysmal and financial bombs. X-men...you'll probably be dead by the time they get that back.

I'm reasonably sure Marvel has the rights to Captain Britain. They could do it.

They would of course go with Austen's version.

Well if they did Alan Moore's version they'd have to deal with him following them around to all the press events, hiding in the bushes and talking about MI6 bugging his teeth for the dark lord.

wow now I want xmen in mcu more than ever

forget movies, magneto/storm/sentinel not being allowed in marvel vs capcom is not right. NOT RIGHT

maybe they'll cut the sony deal after logan bombs

It's not to hurt the X-Men brand, it's in order to bolster their more profitable IPs. Think of it as shelf space. They make money on all of their properties but the least off of X-Men, so X-men is given less emphasis wherever possible in order to push their other characters.

It's definitely to hurt the brand. They know long term it benefits them to weaken the brand, regain control of it, and strengthen it again. If somehow that doesn't work, they're STILL strengthening the brands they gain more from like the Avengers, it's win/win for them, if somehow the Xmen became garbage nobody cared about and they also didn't get the movie rights back, it would be a shame for the comics universe but for the bottom line it wouldn't be a bad outcome (not the one they want, however).

They still got Deadpool and New Mutants. And Logan is Hugh Jackman's last movie so it's not like it matters if it's a success or not.
