I'd sacrifice them all for Elden Ring, but I'd get SMT, Bravely Default 2, Nier, SaGa, and Monster Hunter Rise. Meaning, if I could only afford one of them.
I have owned quite a few Tales games over the years. I just recently bought Vesperia on Switch. I had it back on 360 when it came out. I even had Abyss on 3DS. They're good, but I've never finished them.
I wonder how people feel about newer JRPG's versus JRPGs they've missed. Newer releases of older games are an exception. I was scrolling through the 3DS eShop's Role Playing Section and I wondered if SMT IV Apocalypse was worth getting. I owned IV standalone, but i really didn't notice when Apocalypse came out. Here I see some newer games coming out and I wonder if say Bravely Default 2 will be something to get versus catching up on a title or two that I didn't bother getting at launch. There are a handful of exceptions when buying new games, but I've always been specific with which JRPG that I buy. I had a terrible experience back on the Dreamcast and PS2 with JRPGS. It made me not want to buy every single one like I did with PS1. I am a lot more cautious with some of these entries, especially the countless NIS games That get released.
