i'm surprised that not one person actually has a legitimate explanation yet

i also cant find anything on google.

I had a dream that this was in my house last night after reading this thread yesterday. I was told my somebody in the dream that it was mochi.

That actually looks like spray foam insulation. Though why or how it would be coming up through your floors like that I have no idea? Unless you are living in an apartment above someone else that was doing construction work below using the stuff.

yeah, that stuff gets hard as fuck, i cannot imagine how it could form blobs like that after hardening.

I thought the same but the OP mentioned he lives in the basement so it can't be spray foam.

I tried to google search this and all you get is women complaining about their vaginas so I'm very curious to find out what this stuff is.

Thought spray foam too but if it's in a basement where it's dark & damp I'd venture it's fungus.

OP, did it show up quickly? What color are those things?

Eat it already you pussy!

seriously, don't touch that shit bro.

Oi, the enigma prevails!

OP, I think radical measures to identify that stuff are in order. You should start eating a bit of it, maybe it'll give you SEXUAL POWERS.

According to my dad, who works with insulation materials for over 30 years, he says it is fire resistant polyurethane foam (that is why it is pink).

This is some seriously weird shit. I feel sorry for you, OP.

Bingo, someone said this on the front page, so I didn't think I would need to comment, but everyone is still debating it.

If it's the basement and it's foaming up like that, it seems like it was some unactivated foam, that with settling, has received oxygen to it and it's reacting.

Is there any way for OP to get rid of it then? I mean, I can't imagine that'd be good.. But ripping up tile sucks. :/

Any expert in person confirmation on what this is yet, Ice?

My dad (whose a carpenter) says its just insulation, but he won't do much else.
So I'm taking his word for it, as I don't really have the money to refloor that area, nor hire an expert for their expert opinion.

Okay so if that's so, why is it popping out of my tile?

Broken pipe. Sinking. Leak somewhere. Tons of things. Get a plumber.

Are you renting? If so that's something the landlord should be doing.

That's really odd to me, I am not an expert or anything, but aren't most basement floors concrete and then maybe wood flooring? Why would anyone insulate a basement floor?
