What's something you wouldn't buy used?

I will buy most things used, provided I get a good deal on it.

I probably wouldn't buy a used mattress or couch though. Clothes are fair game (except underwear/undershirts). Electronics? Fuck yes, especially for older parts. I just bought an i5 CPU for my laptop for $25 and an extra 2 GB ram stick for $10.

This is me, spot on. Used is great for many things but there are a few things that are off limits. And old electronics are fucking awesome!

I don't buy computer parts used. Been burned on it. I will buy very high end home audio as long as I can demo it. You can buy tools used and some furniture. Don't buy used appliances though unless they come with the house.

Hey, don't shoot the messenger.

I (honestly) don't remember how I got there but a couple months ago I found out that some women send their used panties over the internet to men who want to buy them. They have to keep a schedule and a limited number of clients because obviously they can only wear one pair of panties at a time and I guess it takes a few days or so to get them in the condition where these men want to buy them...

The more you know!

I have to agree on the shoes, but it absolutely is about the grime. I think that's gross.

You can go to cobbler and get them detailed from the inside out with new insoles for a decent price. And if you find a great deal on a pair in consignment, foot funk doesn't have to hold you back.

I prefer not to buy any books used. I like my books to be in perfect condition, even after reading them. No bending pages, folding or hurting the spine. I know it doesn't really make sense as the words are the same regardless of the paper condition.
Books aren't artefacts, they are there to be read/used. High quality books might be an exception.

Gotta co-sign. I wouldn't buy used headphones either. If anyone's gonna burn them in, it's gon be me.
This is legit though, headphones have such a short life - especially if their last owner was careless with them - that it'd be pointless to buy a slightly cheaper pair that are just going to bust in a couple of months.

I'm not opposed to buying things used.

Our mattress is used and it's better than the one I paid $250 for. The bulk of the appliances in my kitchen (as well as most of my utensils) came from the Salvation Army.

You just have to be smart about things you buy used.

Clothes. Doesn't matter if T-Shirts, shoes, pants, whatever.
To me it's disgusting to wear something 2nd hand. Even though it should be clean and almost sterile if you wash it with high temperature in the washing machine, it bugs me.

Also, I hardly ever buy clothes from a local store/shop, but over the internet. This way, I can make sure nobody has worn it before.

No one has ever returned clothes on the internet.

Probably clothes. Maybe furniture too.

I always said I would never buy a used console, but I ended up buying a 360 slim used from gamestop.

And if they do, the company burns them...
Clearly...
