I can't really hate on this game, considering one of the most anticipated FF games is getting released on my birthday.

Duscae was shit, Platinum demo was shit, the E3 presentations and trailers have been shit. Graphically it's not impressive compared to the rest of the AAA games shown off this year. The game is coming out in a few months and the framerate and clipping issues are still looking as bad as a year ago. Marketing is a nightmare and the ATRs are doing more harm than good. The Brotherhood anime got a new episode... and it's Naruto filler tier garbage.
So much emphasis put on the characters and their friendship, and yet... it's 4 of the most generic anime tropes to ever exist. Look you guys, it's Ignis, the loyal servant from the ancient line of SCIENTIA (cuz they're smart, yall). Also he has a British accent for no reason other than to fit into that tired servant house trope.
The VR trailer, the Afrojack music trailer, the atrocious stage demo. It's all so corny. I went into E3 slightly excited to see FF15, and I came out of it completely bored. Everything about this game is a nightmare and I can't believe they've turned it into this mess.

Outside the performance I think some believe we're going to be running around playing kid Noctis is some dream.
I will say this. I have zero hate for the all Male party.
I think it's cool and I love their style. Women don't need to star in everything and I do think there is legit stories to tell with all male casts.
I just don't trust the Director to do well with it or potential story changes it may have had.

The game just has a sterile, clinical look to it. I can't quite explain it. The game just looks like something that got the fun and life sucked out of it. Visuals look drab, the movement at times look janky, combat doesn't look fun, the tech seems to struggle on the hardware it's running on(lots of aliasing, shimmering, harsh lighting at times etc.)

Im a huge FF fan and its hurting to see the horrible change that has happened to character design since ff12.
The boy band look got to go, bring back more unique fantasy look like the one we had in FF6,FF9. the horrible battle systems isnt helping.
I played both demos for this game and they played like shit. I hate the teleporting stuff.
I'm actually thinking of skipping it.. That has never happens to me before.

Well.. When FF7r got revealed some complained about how Barret and Cloud look rediculous now which i find hilarious. I think there's a portion of the western fanbase that wants the series aesthetics to mature and grow alongside them. Which is why you get so much love for the Kingsglave cast but mind you everyone is entirely wearing black lol but since they don't look "anime" all is fine.
This... I'm still hype. 10 years man. Nothing can be worst that FFXIII and I've played a lot of Final Fantasy games. Damn I even like Type-0.
Why comparing games OP? P5 will be awesome and DIFFERENT from FFXV which has its own awesomeness. I'm not a Zelda fan and I play them all until Wii U. But Zelda isn't a JRPG the game its a genre itself, so why comparing apples with oranges? The new Zelda has more in common with the witcher and Horizon than FF or Persona.

Looked absolutely uninteresting at E3, and the thing I remember most about it was the shitty VR shoe-in this E3. I was hyped to see it return, but after playing both demos, and just reading up on the game and watching the latest trailers. I realized I'm just impartial towards the game. I'm more hyped for FFXII ZA.

You seem to want to constantly fault Tabata, but at least he's getting things done instead of almost non-updates and near radio silence Nomura was giving most E3's when Versus did manage to make an appearance.

It's not hate, I actually want the game to be really good but the demos aren't convincing at all.
It has a lot of technical issues with two months to go. The combat looks terrible, maybe it was the player in the E3 demo, but still that is no excuse. I am still gonna play it but my expectations are at rock bottom.

I'm just ready for this to come out and the ordeal to be over, whether or not it's any good. 10 years is too long to wait for anything. The series has been a shambling, confused mess for about as long as it was as groundbreaking standard bearer at this point. I just want this pushed out and to see if Square Enix have anything of worth left or if they're truly spent as a creative and technical force. The FF name used to mean more, a lot more.

I'm still looking forward to it, probably going to get the deluxe edition. I just hope they improve the framerate by release. My biggest concern is the open world itself, I'm not a fan of open world games at the best of times and I worry it's going to be mostly a waste of space scattered with garbage filler sidequests and collectibles. I remain optimistic though and am not ready to write it off.

Again finishing a product doesn't mean much to me if it's bad.
I found Tabata's last two games to be very underwhelming as are all his updates on XV.
Nomura is not perfect but his out put has been great as far as I'm concerned and we know that Nomura isn't just to blame on Vs as we know his team was messed with multiple times and he had a skeleton crew on VS the majority of the time he was on the project.
So yeah I don't trust Tabata and have faith in Nomura given their past.
I lost a lot of my interest after they took Nomura off the project and I learned enough about the changes to the game that I realized that he was probably just trown off the project so it could be finished regardless of his plans for it.
Disappointment with SE and the series in the general also takes it's toll.
Having said that I'm not nessesarily going to skip it, but I don't have high hopes for it and will have to be convinced to buy it.

Nomura made Kingdom Hearts, no one should be worried about the combat. Tabata on the other hand made Type-0 which is not the most fun to play.
FFVII had modern/sci fi characters/settings that were a lot more diverse and interesting, IMO. Even FFVIII has a more appealing cast, which I personally think is visually bland.
I sort of hate the FFX art direction and feel that was where the big drop-off occurred.
What 2016 are you living in?? There's an embarassment of riches to please all tastes and appetites this year...

At this point you're either invested or not, granted there's people that are easily swayed if the general consensus is good or bad.. Even if they say no. Good marketing can make fans and non-fans follow like sheep which the same can be said for bad marketing Kappa.

Im not worried about it. To me the combat looks fun. In duscae, once you got good it was a blast to go find more battles.
But dat MS demo tho. There was plenty of good videos after that, they could and should have shown instead of that.

I've actually lost interest in the game since its reveal. Well, I've been skeptical of the franchise for a long time now...
If I lived in Japan Persona 5 would be the only thing on my JRPG radar. As an American, I'm much more interested in DQVII since I never played the original.
I have only played the platinum demo but I thought it was brilliant. The graphics were beautiful and the gameplay was unexpected and fun.
The problem is that the internet is full of little internet nerds and they should never be listened to. They throw words like shit about just because a game is taking a different path than the usual more of the same with shiner graphics that they demand. Or they will sons some aliasing and spout preorder cancelled.
Just ignore these people and enjoy the brilliant software being developed for us to enjoy.

I'm still excited for it! I'm trying to avoid having too much spoiled so I've been avoiding a lot of the threads that have popped up. The Microsoft demo was rough though. The guy who played it during the stream yesterday made it look much better.
