I just want an HD Digital Devil Saga game.
Well if we want to start counting Career Soft games too then it really would be Growlanser II, III & IV that would be counted considering the limitations I put down (as well as the PSP port as you mentioned). But I somehow doubt that they "count" hereVamphuntr said:You can add Growlanser V and VI and the psp port of Growlanser

pgtl_10 said:They released Persona 4 this generation and a bunch of Trauma games. A company like Atlus is in a tough spot. The games they release are very niche and are really for hardcore gamers whop can understand and appreciate their franchises. PS3/360 are very expensive to develop for and don't fit Atlus' business model. The Wii is their best bet but it doesn't have the same userbase PS2 had. DS maybe the best way forward for Atlus.

GOD, GUYS
I'd like a sequel to Run Saber before I diePataHikari said:What's the problem?
Atlus published, not developed.MattyGrovesOrMe said:I'd like a sequel to Run Saber before I die
Its not Persona 5 on PS360, apparently.PataHikari said:I'm confused. Atlus has released some of the best games this generation.
What's the problem?

Lightning said:Atlus will be asking themselves "What's up with Sony and Microsoft this gen?" in regards to their expensive high end consoles which not only cost a lot for the consumers to buy, but cost a lot to develop for which puts tremendous strain on small developers.
With the sales that Atlus developed games normally get, they are best to avoid the suicide of the HD consoles. As much as I would love Persona 5 on the PS3, I would much rather still have Atlus as a company existing and making games.

Um, yes they are.tokkun said:It's not like they are supporting the Wii either, though.
tokkun said:It's not like they are supporting the Wii either, though. I think that what is frustrating for some people is that their games have actually regressed in terms of graphical fidelity compared to what they were putting out on the PS2.
Valkyr Junkie said:You guys need to give Atlus some credit for Demon's Souls. Without them, there is zero chance it would have ever been released in the US.

We pretty much know that they are doing something on the Ps3/360 at this point, though.Juno500 said:Let me put it in a mathematical perspective:
HD development being expensive + Atlus being a relatively small company + Atlus games having a niche appeal = hesitation to develop for the PS3/360.
Trauma Center: Second Opiniontokkun said:It's not like they are supporting the Wii either, though.
um... what? Atlus's PS2 games were never titans of graphics and there isn't exactly much that could be compared to them regardless. What kind of comparison would you even make? The Trauma Center games are probably too different to be compared graphically to much else outside of other Trauma Center games and the only thing else are DS & PSP games which would obviously look worse. So, how have their games regressed graphically?tokkun said:I think that what is frustrating for some people is that their games have actually regressed in terms of graphical fidelity compared to what they were putting out on the PS2.
annnnd it hit top 20 on NPD!Juno500 said:I agree.
I know that From Software had more to do with it than Atlus did, but at the same time every game needs a publisher just as much as it needs a developer in order to get released. It's getting hard these days to find a publisher willing to take a gamble on an unproven IP, and so Atlus deserves to be commended for being willing to take a risk on it.

The next Persona game is almost certainly going to the PSP. The next SMT game has already arrived on DS.Snakeyes said:I wouldn't be surprised to see the next SMT or Persona game on Wii or DS2.

tokkun said:Yes, I was talking about their RPGs, not the Trauma Center games. And you answered your own question: they look worse because they are on DS & PSP. The regression in graphics is entirely due to their choice of platform, which is why I was suggesting that if they aren't going to make HD RPGs due to development costs that they at least make the games on the Wii.
Honestly, though, I don't think they have to spend a ridiculous amount of money to make an HD game. I would be perfectly happy with something that had the same sort of in-game assets as Persona 4, but was just rendered at HD resolutions. See shot from PCSX2:

eh, Atlus's games were never really graphic powerhouses so their development towards handhelds doesn't seem worthy of being disappointed in, even if one is a graphics aficionado (personally I adore handhelds). Anyway, I'm sure Atlus will end up developing for every system by the end of the generation so everyone will get something.
I would be fine with P5 built on a modified P4 engine for Wii. I am not fine with P5 built on the P3P engine. Not fine at all. :|Squadron said:if Persona 5 isnt on ps3 im going to shit a brick...i put off playing 4 because i sold my ps2 for my ps3![]()
