When did you stopped getting ID checked regularly?

I'm 27 years old and I still get ID checked regularly. I mean, every time I am doing something that needs age 18 or above, I am checked. People are often surprised by my age, saying they thought I was 20 at most. I'm sure I'll be 30 and people will still ask. This includes things that are not legal matters, like buying an M rated video game.

So when did it stop for you, if it has?

Proper beard means i wasn't getting checked even at 18.
Also, obviously not-USA.

28, and I just recently noticed that I'm not getting ID'd at supermarkets. This is in the UK though, where the drinking age is 18 but most supermarkets operate on an "Ask 25" policy. I guess they're doing pretty well.

And of course after years of waiting for this I now feel slightly sad that I officially now look "old" :-/

I'm 37 and I still get carded more times than not (60% of the time or so). As for when it stopped being 95-100% of the time, probably when I was around 30 or 32.

In nearly 10 years of being able to drink legally I don't think I've ever been ID'd more than a couple of times when I was 18-19

Either I look a lot older than I am, or just really trustworthy.

It's off and on. I haven't really gotten checked often even when I was 21. It's about 70/30 checked to not checked.

It's off and on for me. I'm 31 and most of the time I don't but we sell cigs at work and have to card everyone and it doesn't bother me. Rules is rules.

I always show my ID if there's an age limit. Saves the trouble of them having to ask and saves time for both of us. Don't know if I'd get checked if I didn't, but probably not.

10% of the time for age 18 purchases.

90% of the time for age 21 alcohol related purchases.

It's funny though, the day I turned 21, I went to a bar and didn't get ID'd. I'm 25.

29 about to turn 30 in march and I almost never get carded. I have never gotten carded with any consistency.

Actually now that I think about it, I get asked for my ID more when using my credit card than I do when buying alcohol or going to a bar.

i just recently noticed that i never in my life was ID checked.
drinking age is 16 and i don't buy much alcohol so that's the reason why.

I'm 31 and I'm still regularly carded. When my husband and I take turns getting drinks, when we're out, he has no problem, I always get asked for I.D. I think its the double combo of my baby face and my slightly higher-pitched voice...

So here is a kind of funny story, I've always been told I look older than I am. My first job was at Kmart (loved it btw, perfect job for a high school kid) and I would have people ask me all the time if I had kids, and if I was married and stuff. I was only 16 at the time, I had math homework to do after work.... so no I didn't have kids or married.

I don't really drink, and I don't smoke or anything, but on my 21st birthday I did what every 21 year old does and went out and bought some beer. I didn't get carded, after checkout I pulled out my license and asked if they wanted to check it since it was actually just my 21st birthday.

Yet the one time I actually did get carded for something, was 3 days before my 17th birthday. I went to see Supercop (love me some Jackie Chan), I didn't even know it was rated R ... and they actually carded me ... 3 days before I turn 17. I don't usually like to make a scene but I argued with the guy, I said what will change in my brain between today and 3 days from now that will not make me go on a murderous rampage after seeing this horribly violent movie. I know its not the guys fault, he is just following the rules, but man I was so pissed, really wanted to see that movie.

Never been checked but alcohol isn't that taboo for younger ages (and the legal age is 16) where I live and I don't drink alcohol at all, only a few beers around Christmas time. I've always looked my age though.

On the reverse side I only ID check if it is quite obvious the person is underage. If someone looks around 20 then I don't check.

Still getting it checked regularly at restaurants. Except asian places, they don't seem to care as much. Liquor stores it's about 50%.

I've honestly never been id checked and haven't attempted to do anything myself before I was legally allowed to. Seems like I've always looked appropriate to my age, even clean shaven.

Then again, I don't do many things that would require getting my id checked in the first place.

Haven't had my ID checked since I started buying beer or cigs. This year they been checked a few times though, new rules in Netherlands upping the age of alcohol consumption to 21.

Feels so weird that you never got checked as a kid, now I'm a grown man I gotta show it all the time. Oh well, glad I can still look like a 20 year old! Flatters me.

I still get checked at most bars I go to. Except for my regular places of course. It's kinda annoying since I'm always the one singled out in my group but I guess I'll get the last laugh in ten years.

About a year ago (22 yr old), I went to the packie to pick up some vodka and wine and didn't get carded.

Then went to the Gamestop down the street and got carded buying The Last of Us.

Literal insanity.

Nowadays (23 yr old), I don't get ID'd at the packie anymore. Only at bars because it's mandatory.

I remember being really excited the first time I went to a pub on my 19th birthday, I had my ID all ready, and then no one even asked for it. Now in 8 years later, I only ever get ID'd maybe 1/4 of the time, which is about what it was when I was 19.

To the "packie"? Seriously dude, that's racist.

29, depends if I have had a shave recently or not. It can be a pain in the ass if I'm out drinking as the only ID I have is my passport and I always wake up paranoid I'm going to lose it.

Local shops and pubs I'm usually fine as they tend to recognize me.

Probably about 25. I still get it occasionally at 29.

The drinking age here is 18, so I just take it as a compliment now.

I'm 26. I don't get carded that often when I'm out to drink. if I'm at the packie they don't rly do it unless its somehwrre I haven't been before.

This girl I went to school with from like 1st grade thru high school still checks my I'd every fucking time for rated R movies.

I have never been IDed in my whole life.
I did look pretty mature at 16 already so I can see why.

I never abused it.
